I really did not want to write this. I am a patient here. My…read morefirst visit was amazing. My second visit was very traumatic but with the help of a dents assistant (I forgot her name) I go trough the procedure she was so kind, caring and super helpful. The dentist that helped me and started my treatment gave me anxiety, she poked my lip and was very rough and put more numbing cream on my lips and numbed my entire face, I couldn't breathe and had a really bad anxiety attack to the point I went home and cried. My dads friend is a dentist (wish she was closer) and she was upset when I rid her what had happened. Anyways fast forward to today. My husband, my son and I had an appointment this morning but we left after we were treated with such disrespect from a front desk employee. She was arrogant, rude and extremely disrespectful and unprofessional so of course I lost it and went off on her left the office. To the owners of this dentist please work with your staff and make them take a class on how to treat ppl. Thanks

Important note: If you come here, I strongly recommend only seeing Dr. Rocky or Dr. Jessie. Also…read moreworth noting: Sandra at the front desk is wonderful. After being patients at Redwood Shores Dental for over a decade, my husband and I have decided to switch providers, and I feel it's important to share why. Our recent visits with the new dentist, Dr. Martinez, were among the most uncomfortable dental experiences we've had. She was rushed, dismissive, and physically rough. The fillings she did were left unpolished and uneven, and when we tried to raise concerns, they were brushed off with comments like, "You're good--you feel good." There was no pause to actually check our comfort or the quality of the work. It felt transactional, not patient-centered. During my appointment, Dr. Martinez and her assistant carried on a personal conversation in Spanish over me the entire time. I understand Spanish, and it was clear the conversation (about cars and driving in Venezuela) took priority over my care. It made me feel ignored and uncomfortable. When I later called to schedule a visit with Dr. Rocky to correct the rough filling, I was made to feel as though the issue was my fault. I was also told he doesn't take my insurance, which was confusing given that the work needed correction. After being rushed through an appointment and left with a poor result, the response felt dismissive rather than accountable. We also experienced repeated issues with the front office. Despite clearly explaining multiple times that my husband and I share the same insurance, staff insisted they couldn't find my information and suggested it was likely "under my husband, since usually the husband insures the family." That assumption was incorrect, sexist, and frustrating. To be clear, Sandra has always been excellent--but our interactions with newer staff were consistently disorganized and condescending. After more than 10 years with this practice, it's disappointing to leave under these circumstances. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because patients deserve to feel respected, listened to, and well cared for.

One of the smoothest appointments ever, and they did a wonderful job with the cleaning- the best I've ever had after a history of long and/or painful ones. Smile Craft - Recent Experience…read more I recently scheduled a deep cleaning at Smile Craft after seeing a referral gift card promotion through Opencare. The office is modern, clean, and well-equipped. From a clinical standpoint, everything feels up to date and aligned with quality standards. Before my appointment, the Opencare team was very diligent about sending reminders and follow-up texts, which I appreciated. It helped with scheduling and preparation. During my visit, I was assisted by Juan, the dental assistant, who was kind, attentive, and thoughtful in his care. Dr. Gok was equally professional and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the deep cleaning. Clinically, the experience was positive and left a strong impression. Before leaving, I requested Juan and Dr. Gok for my next cleaning and was flexible with scheduling pending insurance approval for future treatment. The challenge began after I left the office. When I uploaded my receipt to Opencare for the gift card referral, I experienced ongoing pushback from their support team for over a week. I understand that support teams handle a high volume of cases, but the communication lacked clarity around how to resolve the issue. It appears there may have been a clerical error at the front desk regarding documentation tied to my appointment, which may affected my eligibility for the promotion. What was most frustrating was the lack of coordination. At one point, I was informed my case had been transferred to another agent and that my appointment appeared canceled -- as though I had not attended my deep cleaning. This was concerning and required additional effort on my part to correct. For something that should have been straightforward, the process felt unnecessarily complicated. Additionally, my interaction at the front desk felt impersonal. I did not receive much guidance about next steps with Opencare, and basic information -- such as the Opencare support email -- was not readily available. A brief explanation at checkout about how to properly submit documentation for the gift card would likely prevent similar issues for future patients. To be clear, my clinical experience with Juan and Dr. Gok was excellent. The concern lies with administrative follow-through and communication between Smile Craft and Opencare. As a patient, I value transparency and coordination, especially when promotions are involved. If I could offer feedback, it would be: * Ensure front desk staff clearly communicate post-visit steps for third-party promotions * Double-check documentation before patients leave * Strengthen coordination with Opencare to prevent eligibility disputes Front desk alignment is critical because it sets the tone for the entire patient journey. While the clinical team delivered a 5-star experience, the administrative follow-through did not match that standard. The receptionist interaction felt cold and impersonal -- minimal eye contact, no warm greeting or closing, and little guidance on next steps regarding the promotion. It felt transactional rather than relationship-based. When a practice invests in high-quality care and environment, the front desk experience should reflect that same level of professionalism and warmth. Administrative clarity and patient education around third-party promotions would significantly improve the overall experience. I'm returning because I trust the clinical team. I just hope the front-end experience aligns with the excellent dental care moving forward. I'm scheduled for a follow-up in August and hope the administrative process is smoother moving forward. The dental care itself gives me confidence -- I just hope the front-end experience aligns with the same standards.
