After being referred several times to captive minds and reading the reviews I finally decided to stop in to inquire about getting my ears pierced after five years of thinking about it ! That's when I meet Billy , the minute I walked in I was greeted and got immediate attention , when I showed him the diamond post earrings I wanted to wear he looked them over then measured my ears and told me the posts were too short and then referred me to a jeweler , he then illustrated the modification on paper with the exact measurements he wanted so off I went to the jewelers ! When I returned with the earrings he was very please that they had modified them exactly to his specs! Then the show begins! He sat me down and proceeded with his 30 years of experience and second to none professionalism ! Explaining each move I felt confident that I was in the best of hands! When finished I looked in the mirror and was so happy that I chose Billy to put my $8,000 earrings in my ears! If you don't go to Billy for your piercings don't get a piercing ! There was a group of about 7 of us that got various piercings (naval, noses, cartilage) around an hour before the shop closed and we had one of the most amazing experiences ever. We were allowed to sit together in the room where piercings were being done to hype each other up and each piercing was super quick and done extremely professionally. They took the time to explain the process entirely and why certain locations for certain piercings (mainly ear ones) would be better, while also valuing our opinions on placement. The prices were also very reasonable and they gave us free Capri-Sun! Probably one of the best shops I've ever been to and I know we all would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get a piercing in the Asheville area. read more

At 77 I never dreamed I would have to have an ear repierced. So I went on line and did some research. I read about this place and read the reviews. Then I went on FB, I asked if anyone had gone there, and what they thought. Well the reviews were correct. Billy was very nice and I ended up being able to just have him push an earring through. There was just a thin piece skin over the back. This saved me quite a bit of money. I was impressed. He could have just pierced it and I would have been none the wiser. BEST piercer in Asheville!!! If I could give him 10 stars I would! He's extremely helpful and very gentle. He's extremely precise! The only piercer I've been to that actually uses a measuring tool. I had two earrings get stuck in my piercing and the owner of Captive Minds was really helpful with this by fixing and repiercing me with a smaller gauge and better material.
