Even at my own wedding when I was otherwise having a great time, the photography session was a pain because I just couldn't seem to smile without looking like a creep. So I was very worried about paying someone to spend an hour trying unsuccessfully to get me to look into a camera and smile and not look like an idiot. I needn't have worried. I was immediately at ease with Portia, and she made the whole experience fun. It was almost as if the fact that there was a camera in the room was irrelevant -- we were just having a good time. In the end there was a plethora of excellent shots and the only problem was trying to limit myself to three (that particular deal limited it to three digital prints). The rest of the experience, the logistics, scheduling, payment, etc., was all very smooth and uneventful. I will definitely return to her next time I need any kind of studio-quality photography.

He's now done a wedding for another friend, my wedding, and will likely be doing family portraits for this extended family soon. I could not have been more pleased with him on my wedding day. Or the rehearsal, for that matter. He walked through it all with us, caught some candids, and stayed for our casual pizza party. On the day of, he actually brought a second shooter with him. Apparently he mentors other budding photographers as well so she got in some pictures when he couldn't be in two places at once. Not only does he take fantastic pictures but he really is one of the most personable guys you'll ever meet. We've done coffee with him twice and never feel like there's enough time to talk.
