Didn't even come in to the shop. I called in just now and customer service answered. I asked "hi how are you!" Pretty standard greeting and she responds with "what do you need I'm on another call so do you need anything?" In a super snarky terrible tone. It wasn't in a welcoming way at all. A simple "hey sorry I'm on another call can you please hold" would've done enough! If that's how you are treating customers before they even get into the door then why would I ever come in to spends thousands of dollars. Do better. Edit since the owner thinks I'm lying. There was a issue in my car that would shut it down after 50 mph and turn back on when I went under 50 mph (I don't get it either) I went back and they took apart the system and changed the power source and now it runs at 100%. My experience with Car Fidelity was really great. I had broken off the Sirius Car Antenna on the roof of my car when I was backing out of my garage. I was in a hurry and distracted and didn't realize that I had not fully opened the garage door all the way up. Duh. When I called my car dealership for the part and labor costs I almost fell over. It was absurd what they wanted so I bought the part online and called Car Fidelity to see if they would be willing to replace the antenna with my part. They were very nice and said they could do it so I made am appointment for the following week. When I got there he showed me that I had the wrong part, uuuugh, totally my fault. Again, duh. They were cool about it and said to call them back when I had the right part or he could order it for me. I decided to calll them back when I got the right part which I did about a month later. I drop my car off and in about 3 or 4 hours the car was ready. Even though it is just a simple antenna it does require work, patience and a willingness to do an impeccable job because the lining of the interior back has to be dropped to access the area to install and my lining in particular had to be done so for the entire back half. If its not done right, the lining will have creases in it and look saggy and tacky. It was a bigger job than he expected and it took a little longer than he expected but he honored the original price he gave me anyway. I could not believe how kind he was to do that! It was so very nice and just so very cool of him. They also put up with my 10,000 questions, wow they are just really nice people. Gentlemen for sure. The antenna works and looks great and the lining in my car looks as though it has never been touched. The whole experience was stellar! Thank you for putting up with me Car Fidelity! In response to below, every time I use the microphone you installed, which is hooked up to the alpine head unit, the people I talk to on the other end ask me if I'm in a wind tunnel and most conversations end ubruptly because they just can't handle the noise. Terrible microphone, whether it's the mic or the placement, I'm not sure, but it's not good for me or my business. The stock Nissan mic never gave me this problem. Also, turns out the rear right speaker is busted and was not hooked up this entire time. I found it recently when someone rode in the back and told me that speaker wasn't even on. Reconnected the loose cable and the speaker is busted. Third, I highly doubt that $1400 for an introductory Alpine head unit with a busted mic, an introductory alpine amp and two front and two rear speakers (one of which is busted) is a "good deal". I tried to give you guys a chance to remedy and you just tried to upsell me instead of addressing the concerns. And you broke the moldings. That's just the way it was. $1400? A budget system? Coach Cowher does not approve. And Yes, Usher's Engineer won't speak to me when I use your mic. He told me to take it back and have you take everything out and give me my money back. Nice guys but unfortunately I felt totally ripped off spent thousands of dollars on a stereo system and alarm system as I found out later was on the verge of being out of date I'm not an expert obviously but that was a little unnerving but the main reason for my two star review by the way which is generous is because the alarm system never worked. The automatic door locks openers never worked the starting with the passenger side then the drivers side too I brought it back twice and I got an attitude - He told me I'd have to come back again because they were too busy to look at It! The worst thing of all is that the car stereo kept going off in the middle of the night for no reason so it would wake everybody up again I was met with resistance at Car Fidelity. I just gave up my car doesn't lock the car security system doesn't work 2500 bucks for an out of date stereo system and $$$ alarm system most likely improperly wired not a happy camper but I definitely won't be going back there just letting you know! read more

These guys did a great job installing a 2nd XM radio in our other car. They were quick, and Tony even lowered the music in the waiting room so I could work while I waited (pretty cool considering they sell car stereos). XM had given me an installation coupon to install the radio, but that only covered mounting the radio on the crappy mount that came with it, running the ugly antenna wires all over and plugging the radio into the power outlet. In my imagination it was going to look crappy, so that's why I procrastinated doing this for 2 months. But no! They hard-wired it so no outlet was used, installed an internal antenna and a switch--basically an invisible installation, that came in on budget for us, and no hard-sell either. They even installed a much better tilt and swivel mount...all in all, a pretty painless experience. read more

Very overpriced, bad communication, plays dirty. Sometimes it's easy to give a business one star. It isn't worth the effort to do anything other than vent your anger on Yelp. Sometimes it's not so easy. Writing this one is a bummer, so I've put it off for a year. It's way past time to stop thinking about it, so here you go. The short of it: Tony at Car Fidelity installed a faulty $200 Parrot MKi 9000 Bluetooth unit in my 2001 Honda, insisted for weeks that I wasn't using it correctly, Parrot confirmed the unit was faulty, Tony wouldn't refund the unit cost or remove it for less then $100, I'm out $500 and a lot of time. My mechanic, whom I trust, recommended Tony, so I paid upfront without researching labor charges. Tony's charge to install the unit was $300, twice what other installers were charging. After two weeks and a call from my mechanic asking him to get back to me about the Parrot problem, I started shopping around to replace the whole car stereo. I'd start the conversation with "how much would you charge to install a Parrot MKi 9000?" $150. I ended up calling no fewer than five well-reviewed installers around LA who quoted half or less, for the same installation. Three of them told me that the Parrot unit was a bad idea. When I asked Tony why he charged so much to install the unit. His answer, with a grin, was: "Hey, you get what you pay for." I can't know if he meant "hey, your fault for trusting me." The second time I went to Car Fidelity to troubleshoot the Parrot unit, a very big, very angry customer was yelling at Tony. I thought he was going to pummel Tony, I was genuinely concerned for his safety. That big guy was out of control, but man, I feel his anger. Turns out the guy was from the business next door. After Parrot confirmed that it was a bad unit, Tony offered to remove it for $100. This is after weeks of my trying to get the thing to work, and his insisting that I was doing something wrong. He also offered to waive the cost of removing the bad unit if I'd buy an Alpine CarPlay unit from him for $600. Somehow he thought I'd keep doing business with him. A little over a mile up the street, another place offered to take out the Parrot unit for $50 (again, half what Tony was charging). I bought the same Alpine unit from them for $100 less, instead. They also installed an iPhone cradle on a custom gooseneck mount and a rear-view camera, which all look and work great. I emailed Tony and asked him to refund the $200 for the bad unit in exchange for the brand new replacement from Parrot, and return part of that labor charge. I was willing to bargain. No response. I can be a perfectionist and what I initially wanted wasn't simple. Tony was really patient when I discussed with him what I wanted to do, which was great. But the other business that I hired to do what I wanted done were also very patient, and fast, and polite. And their charge for labor was better than reasonable. I checked first this time. I had mixed feelings about giving Car Fidelity and Tony the review they deserve because I really do still like and trust my mechanic, and I don't want it to reflect poorly on him. It doesn't. Tony took advantage of his trust, too. Side note: try to avoid buying anything from Parrot. I don't think "customer service" means what they think it means. I have to go check Urban Dictionary to see if it's slang for what I think they think it is. read more

How do you give 1 star to a no star business. Stay away from this place. They rip you off, especially with nitrous. I've taken my tank to them several times and they charge ridiculously a lot and they get to charge what they want because they're the only nitrous fill station within a ~20 mi radius, and still fill you short. I took my scale a few times and they skimped me out by 5 pounds on several occasions. My advice to you take a scale with you. They'll try to tell you that your digital one is inaccurate and they'll purposely keep their scale away from your view so you don't see how they hussle you. read more

I got my car CD/Radio replaced and these guys were great. From the time I first called to having a new CD/Radio installed was less than two hours. I was quoted a price and even though they had to run out and get a kit to make it fit in to my car exactly, when I went to pay it was exactly the quote. Tony and his boys really went the extra mile for me. I brought a tough job and they totally delivered! They were able to put in a double din touchscreen with and microphone for the speaker-phone into my OLD 87 Toyota Van. They were able to work around my old van taking apart all the plastics and putting it all back with nothing harmed. The microphone is concealed perfectly. They also installed a back up cam into the old van... an 87! amazing. can barely see it and it works like a gem. I wanted to post about the great service I received at Car Fidelity. I recently bought a 2010 350 GLK Mercedes and it had an old 30 pin I pod adapter and no bluetooth... they tried several things as options but nothing worked... then they found out that my car had no bluetooth part in existence!! I was shocked! My Mercedes couldn't be bluetooth compatible? I thought my luck had run out, about to take a road trip and couldn't use my I pod or my phone .... just radio and cd's!!!! No way! They continued to work with me to find a solution and in the end they managed to install a very innovative solution and I have full bluetooth compatibility! I needed to give a huge shout out to these guys. It is so rare to come across such honesty and integrity. I had a little stupid issue with some engine noise. I just lost my pride and joy Raptor and had to purchase a beater. Got a ticket for using my phone while driving because the beater has no hands free. I bought a kit online and it works great but had a horrible engine noise. Called these guys and would have paid anything to get rid of it. Tony and his son (a family run business over 20 years) are the best!! I brought my RX300 in to get a replacement mast for an aftermarket antenna which I had damaged running into a low garage door and I had several issues that Tony investigated to my complete satisfaction! I had a wiring issue that was seemingly impossible to find, but Tony hung in there and in the end - he came up with a plan to fix it in a way I could not have foreseen! He saved me $400+ by not buying a OEM antenna and when all was said and done, he wired it in a way that gave me the flexibility of raising the antenna or not raising the antenna whenever I pleased (instead of only having it go up and down whenever I turned the key - which is annoying!). He ran into the wiring problem early on - after installing another antenna - and hung in there with determination until the problem was solved! Tony is the only installer that understood the Kenwood DNN992 that I was installing. I recently bought a 2009 Forester and bought all the audio hardware (DNN992, front and rear componenet speakers, bass, amplifier, front & rear cameras with steering column support and all the high tech stuff the DNN992 supported). I came into his shop on our phone conversation alone and after meeting with him and him explaining everything i needed to do the job right, I was sold that this was the man to work on my car. I was not wrong. Tony treated my vehicle as if it were his own car. His workmanship is unparallelled as i watched every second of the install and his attention to detail is unmatched. He fully integrated my remote bass knob into my dash so that just the control knob was visible and seems like it was made to be apart of my car. Every component from the amp to the sub was lined up perfectly and organized in a way that gives my system a sense of beauty. The biggest thing about Tony is that he can communicate exactly what you need, in layman's terms so that you understand the full implications of the necessary components, He is no bullshit and is incredibly reasonable with pricing. i had a pair of front speakers and an amplifier done at this shop a few years ago and i still remember the job was done poorly and the attitude of the person doing the install was antagonistic. he lied about the work that was done...specifically, denying that he opened up the whole front door panels on both sides to get to the speakers when all he had to do was pop open the speakers covers. i was watching him while he was doing this and he denied doing it after i noticed that the front panel was not aligned correctly after i got the car back. He made it sound like i was the one that was lying! i couldn't wait to get out of there and just wished i had a site like this back then to vent out my frustration. if the staff lies about a simple thing like that, imagine what other things they lie about regarding their installation practices. stay away if you don't like to be lied to to your face. read more
