Tyrone, the manager, said the car had dog hairs in it, he was allergic, and the car needed to be sent out for detailing -- and they need to charge a $450 cleaning fee. He kept emphasizing that he had allergies. Total gaslighting. To be clear, Avis terms and conditions do not say that you have to clean your car before returning it. They simply state that renters will be charged a "reasonable fee" for "excessive stains, trash, dirt, soilage, odors, or pet hair." By no means, was my car returned with "excessive" anything. This was a scammy, fraudulent charge, and it was only by accident I found out the same day, and was able to rush back and take photos and videos of the car interior. After I complained, Tyrone gave me a "courtesy call" later that day to say he would reduce the cleaning fee to $150. What a joke. It took me three days to get Avis to reverse the charges. I had to call their customer service numerous times and go back and forth on emails. Avis makes it very difficult to reverse the charges. You have to be very persistent. If you have a video, they only accept files less than 10MB. This was known Avis/Budget scam. I thought I got a good deal on Hotwire. Next time I will pay more and go to National at the airport. Avoid Avis -- and this particularly this location -- like the plague. If you do rent from them, take photos and document everything, so you don't get screwed by Tyrone and his "allergies."

Shortly after I returned the car on Monday I realized that I had forgotten some personal items stored at a hidden trunk compartment. When I called it was impossible to speak to a human. After about 30 minutes of trying and finally getting a human (clearly sitting thousands miles away) to help me, I was told to go to a budgetlostandfound.com website to file a report. But the website does not list this location as an option so I couldn't file a report. The very next day I went back in person and spoke with an employee. He was helpful and gave me the key to look at the SUV. At that point, when I checked the SUV, it had been cleaned and nothing was there. The guy told me that he would call the cleaning company and see what he could find and call me back. He never did. I went back in today again and had the most unpleasant experience speaking to a woman named Kim. She repeatedly insinuated that it was my fault and there was nothing they could do for me. I openly and honestly admitted that it was my fault bit I simply wanted a report of the lost items so I could file an insurance claim. She wouldn't have it at all, insisting, at that point, very openly and rudely that "it was your fault" and that they are a franchised location not directly owned by Avis / Budget - signaling that there is no need for me to complain to corporate. I wasn't looking for them to solve the problem but I was looking for empathy and some display of decent customer service. All I got was "this is above my pay grade and it is not our fault", "file a complaint all you want, it won't matter to me" attitude. I would never go back to that location for car rental ever again. Not would I ever rent from Budget / Avis for that reason.

Mixed experience…read more First off, the good stuff: it was the best deal through costco travel, the wait first time around was quick on a Tuesday morning, returning on a Monday morning was also very quick, a brand new fleet of ford focus hatchbacks which are nice to drive, the manager was nice and reasonable, and location was easy for me to access. Overall, I would've given it a 5-star for a value, efficiency, and great rental car, if not for... The lady who works there. I read google reviews of this place and she seems infamous. SBasically, she seems pretty unhappy to be working there, was looking to pick a fight from the outset, argued with us, and then accused me of something based on my race.
