Hello I am very disappointed taking my 2002 Chevy trailblazer vehicle for tinting. For something that costs $600 I didn't expect to see creases on the window? This is very poor quality of a job for this much. Unfortunately they do not want to redo the tinting and I am not going to spend another $600. Stay away from this place it shouldn't even deserve one star. Back again! Took my Grand Prix here quite a few years ago, had a good experience. Took my Cadillac CTS-V here, and though expensive (also had to remove old tint) very good quality, and a check in on my Pontiac. Been 5+ years since my review and the tint still looks great! No fading, bubbles, or anything of that sort. Would recommend this shop, and have, to friends for tint. I can't vouch for audio or wraps but the tint job is done in a very timely manner, looks great, and holds up for years! (The snow pics are from the day it got done, the other are assorted from then until this year. I got the tints about a year ago) read more

A great place to get your windows tinted. I just purchased a 2015 Kia Optima and it needed the windows done to look better for me. I took it in without an appointment and waited about 3 hours which was acceptable to me. It appears they did a great job, but they told me it'll be 2-3 weeks for the bubbles and streaks to come out by drying. I hope that's true or I'll be back getting them redone! I'm not sure if it was because it was busy, but they gave me the car back with fingerprints an smudges all over the windows and outside of the car. Not too professional in my opinion. Clean your mess ... Especially on someone else's property, please! Another small tip, get more long term seating for your customers. It'll be more comfortable for those waiting. The 3 plastic chairs don't cut it. I'll update my review as I see progress in the 2-3 days. :) I hope this helps with someone's decision to choose Car Teks for their window tinting needs. read more

My son was in town on Military leave. While in town he what a new radio installed and wired to his existing system. We dropped the car off Friday evening for the crew to address first thing Saturday morning. I felt pretty good considering the representative stayed after hours to receive the car. After choose a head unit I gave the fella essentially cart blanch to make things right. He asked" If I need additional part do I have permission to get and install the?" I replied, "do what you have to to make it right." 2:00pm came and went, didn't hear a status update. We decided to stop in and check on things. The employee stated that it wasn't done yet because it needed to be hard wired. That was the reason why we dropped it off the day before! We left and ran some errands. Upon getting the long awaited call an hour later and just before they closed we showed up to pick up the car. We were presented the statement," one of your subs doesn't work." This was troublesome, after I gave you Cart Blanch, further more an approved dollar amount, you couldn't resolve a loose wire concern on the subwoofer. Just had my daughter's Jetta in to get windows tinted. Everything from the initial phone call to the final inspection of the car was top notch. Went with the upgrade ceramic film and was not disappointed. Looks absolutely perfect. The technician was very helpful and explained all the details about how to care for the windows. Informed that the bubbles in the back will go away in a few weeks and explained the reason for this. Was also polite and very courteous I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get their windows tinted. Tried another place in Merrillville before this and they said they couldn't do a Jetta because of the back window angle. Huh? Car Teks had no problems doing the back window. Good to see you acknowledged this over 4 months later, and the scratches are right as you open the door. Sill panels, completely noticeable when you open either door. When my son asked about them your employees said "no big deal they are small". And yes can occur from daily driving, but this car was new, like 2 months old, not 2 years. As for my son to apologize for me, it was him that called me infuriated with the condition of his car. I simply told him to go to you as I was referred to by a fellow employee. He called me in tears when he picked the car up. I simply stood up for him as a father would. Your poorly managed and ran business should of set up a plan for the install before it was even accepted so everyone was on the same page. Car Teks lacks professionalism and sales staff. Like a shop ran out of some back yard garage. Like I said previously this could of been avoided and Car Teks shown what was to be done on the install. Needless to say, I would not recommend your services. Still zero stars, especially for a comment FOUR MONTHS AFTER THE REVIEW. That shows you care nothing about your customers otherwise this would of been rectified months ago. Just shows what a shady operation you run. I called you, you hung up on me. You had my cell number and never once called me back. After you or I cooled down it could of been handled. Once again, before you destroy a new car, it would be to your advantage to at least GO OVER THE INSTALL AND WHAT WAS GOING TO BE DONE FOR THE MONEY YOU ROBBED FROM ME. Cant do a front windshield unless you like scratches and dust bubbles. Had to bring the car back due to scratches. The redo had scratches but more dust bubbles. Wish I would have gone somewhere else. read more

9-13-2017 1st of all they use cheap alarm systems that you can get from Best Buy, marked it up and installled on my vehicle, told me it was ready found screws that they forgot to put back in my vehicle, alarm doesn't work, going down the road alarm comes on siren going off, locking and unlocking the doors, when alarm is set, you out the door no alarm goes off, until a minute later, I specially asked for kill switch they lied to me and told me I had it only to find out I don't, I specially ask for a 2 -3 mile range, they told me I had it only to find out it's only 1 mile range, I ask them to take that shit off and give me a refund, they refused to do any repair or even give me a refund, but say it's my problem now, charged me $640.00 so I had to call credit card and cancel transaction, and deal with this thru the court , what a nightmare, the alarm does not arm it self on its own like it suppose to, and then to top it off Charge $150.00 to get the drone app that doesn't belong to them. I got FUCKED, now I have to fight back going into the courts this is some wasted time and a lot of bull shit, I will never do business there again.......... read more

I wouldn't even give this place one star but you have to click something to leave a review. My husband got a remote start installed on our vehicle a couple of weeks ago, after he called and was told by whomever answered the phone at Car Teks that the remote start would be compatible without any issues. Shortly after the remote start was installed, our vehicle would not start. My husband then had our vehicle (2013 Ford Fusion) towed back to Car Teks where they told him it's not the remote start and there is something wrong with the car. Car Teks basically unhooked the battery and "reset" the vehicle. From there, the vehicle started again without any issues. My husband brought the car home and after a few days of using the remote start, guess what? Car wouldn't start again. Knowing how to get the vehicle running again, my husband unhooked the battery and "reset" the vehicle at home and drove it to Car Teks this past Saturday morning. This time, he requested the remote start to be removed as we had Ford Service look at the car and was told IT'S THE REMOTE START THAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE. My husband told the owner of Car Teks all of this information, at which point, my husband was was told that it's not the remote start (again). So what Car Teks is saying is they're professional mechanics and Ford Service doesn't know what they're talking about, right? Also, to add to this, Car Teks proceeds to print out a forum from some non-reputable internet site of people writing why their fusion did not start (completely unrelated to our issue with the remote start). After some going back and forth, Car Teks removed the remote start, sloppily, leaving wires exposed and refused to refund our money. Instead of a refund, for this remote start we only had on our vehicle for a couple of weeks, and was originally guaranteed compatibility with our vehicle, we were given an gift certificate. I would NOT recommend taking your vehicle here, do yourself a favor and go to the dealership or somewhere that guarantees customer satisfaction. Our vehicle has NEVER had any type of issues starting until this remote start was installed, and now that it's been removed, no issues starting at all. Not to mention, Ford Service diagnosing the problem as the remote start. After all of this nonsense, it's not even the problem with the remote start that provoked a bad review from me, it's the unwillingness to refund our money to make the situation right, but instead, argue with us and print a forum about why they're right and we're wrong, and giving us a gift certificate which we will never use. No thanks, will take our business elsewhere in the future. read more
