Paid a significant amount for window tint and it was done poorly--bubbling, peeling, and debris stuck under the tint. My husband and I gave them two chances to fix it, and it still came out defective. Mike the manager was unprofessional and uncooperative, and we never got a resolution. My issues with this location start at South Center. You can review their Yelp page for details on how I ended up here. Since I was already dealing with the regional manager, I contacted him, explained what happened and told him if I continue to have issues, I'm contacting the media. The stereo continued to sound terrible, and he said, he would like to meet me at Southcenter and introduce me to their best installer. Once there, I met the Regional Manager and the Shop Manager, also it happened that an installer from Burlington was there, and he claimed to be an award-winning installer that could make a clock radio sound like it has surround sound. At that point, I elected to work with him. Southcenter sold me another Amp and I took it to Burlington. Again, this was 4-5 hours not including the 90-minute drive each way. When the install was done, my jaw was on the ground. I had just spent another $700 and my stereo sounded terrible. I reached back to the Regional Manager, and complained about the time, money, effort and energy going into my dissatisfaction. He said he had one last hail marry and sent me to Federal Way. I'm giving Burlington a 2. The guy couldn't have been nicer, but he wasn't good at his job, no way your are an award winning installer and engineer and my system sounds like trash. I continued to tell him, the phase sounded bad, but he claimed not to hear it. In audio, phase refers to the timing relationship between two or more audio signals. Think of it like when you talk into a fan, it's your voice, but it sounds off. When it occurs in music, some people don't hear it, but it's a dog whistle for those of us who do. read more

I have gone to Car Toys for all of my "extra" add ons with my car since 2015. New head unit, subwoofer, backup camera, car alarm - and they have done a great job installing everything! The past year, my back up camera has been malfunctioning. I currently live in California and I've tried to get an estimate in my area but it was $180 JUST to look at it. I scheduled a time with Car Toys in Burlington for them to check out my issue since I would be in town for Christmas. Easy to schedule, got in super quick, and customer service if always They let me know possible issues and gave me a price range right away. I was basically in and out in about an hour or so AND everything was less than $200 which made it better! Driving 1000 miles to go to Car Toys to get my back up camera fixed? WORTH IT. Let's just say I'm a total Noob when it comes to car sound systems. Maybe even less than a Noob. I have a new truck. The first real new truck I've ever had. It came with an anemic sound system and I've been spoiled by premium factory systems in all my wife's new cars I buy her. I've been waffling about even going in somewhere but yesterday I went into Car Toys in Burlington. I imagined high pressure tactics from the outset because there is something smarmy surrounding the auto industry and it's satellite aftermarket enterprises. I did not get that vibe exactly but I was kind of at the hands of the salesman who happened to be the store manager Chris. We chatted about what I was looking for and he made suggestions and threw some techy lingo at me before he took me into the sound booth to demo various systems. I was looking for better speakers, a subwoofer of some kind and amps to drive the speakers. My only deal breaker was I did not want to buy a new control screen. The factory one basically runs all the features in the cab and does everything an aftermarket one does. Chris said they could make that happen. With my mind at ease he demo'd different speakers and subs using different music. Like I said the techy stuff is lost on me but hearing is believing. With Chris' help we landed on six speakers to replace the factory stuff. The sub was a little trickier. There were some floor leveling fold outs in the rear of the truck cab used with seats up. There is a subwoofer box made specifically for Ram trucks. Only thing is I had to give up the floor fold outs. It wasn't my favorite option but the alternative was a shoebox size box with one 8" sub I would have to move if someone sat back there. I mulled it over and decided to get the "Ram box" under the seats. Yes I know this is long but hey it's a new year so gimme a break. Chris worked up a price and we set it up for the next day. When I dropped the truck off I had one more change. After meeting Ben (installer) I asked about adding a second amp to drive the four door speakers. More techy lingo between Chris and Ben and I had my request accommodated. Ben installed everything in about 7-8 hours. He took me through the system, showed me the controls. Set the subwoofer power output accordingly and answered my questions. I went back in and finalized some paperwork and was on my way with a very good system. It was not cheap and I don't even know if it's above or below average for what I had done. I do know they can work within any budget. Give them a try for your car stereo needs. read more

These guys in Burlingtonneed to focus and learn how to use a screwdriver. Three trips to install a new radio for my wife's car. It was a gift or at least it was meant as a gift. Stereo and mic for phone worked great! But the heater did not work. So we took the car into the dealership and were told that the heater was left unplugged by the person that installed the radio. So we informed Car Toys of the issue and they paid the invoice from the dealership. A couple of months later the car was having a lot of electrical issues. Dash lights went on and off etc... So we took the car to the dealership again. This time they discovered a panel not properly replaced where the Mic was installed. The water was coming into the car and had over time filled up the junction box and started short circuiting any and all things electrical in the car. So, once again we went back to Car Toys, showed them the invoice and what the technician found when they repaired the car. This time we are told that our car is old and that "Correlation is not causation". Quite the coincidence that the two areas they opened to install the equipment had issues. They have refused to pay the $1800 bill, so here I am on yelp warning everyone that would like to use Car Toys, go to a different location. These guys lack the training to install equipment correctly. I have used Car Toys over the years for my cars, my employees cars and my cars. Never had a problem with other locations. This location in Burlington Washington needs a real technician that can focus and can do a professional job. On a follow up email from the Car Toys install manager, that they should have been given the opportunity to see the car. So remember, if you do go to Burlington Car Toys and get a system installed, take it to them if your car will not shift or window will not come down or if your lights do not work. One last point, I was told by the head of install that they already paid a bill that was not their fault and they should have been given the opportunity to fix the car before we took it to the dealership. Wow! What little good faith that was earned for paying the first bill just disappeared. read more

I had phoned in a few times for clarification on a couple of remote start systems. The rep on the phone was great each time. I moved forward with an install and upon completion, the manager tried to upsell me for an extended warranty that I didn't need. He wasn't aware of the warranty terms on what I was buying. After getting home, I realize that he had overcharged me by $159, for a T harness and additional labor charges. I pointed out that their sign specifically stated the price installed. He immediately got an attitude, told me he was done with me because I wasn't going to "get it" and said he was going to "eat it", then hung up. Real classy. Within days, I realize that the system wasn't working properly, so I had to drive back to their store (hour away) and the tech was great. He realized it was a programming issue, so he fixed it immediately and I was back on the road. The staff, other than the manager, are great. I'd recommend them, if you don't deal with the manager. Really upset that I paid over $1300 CASH and I ended up with a broken dash just so they could mount my mic for my stereo system on top of my dash.. store isn't open to do anything about it but come on!! Then you try to hide it and deliver it to me at night time just so I wouldn't notice. Well when your driving down the road and the dash falls apart... Associate even came out and did the pre-work walk through and this was NOT broken on the list. You owe me a new dash!! read more

I had such an amazing experience with these guys I spent quite a chunk of change and they did a quick install because as usual I was running late some things got missed understandably and they took care of it ASAP I feel like I have a great relationship with them and they put up with my bitching and moaning flawlessly. Went in to upgrade to a CarPlay head unit. Installation was fast and free and I was initially happy with my purchase. Couple months down the line and the head unit is randomly restarting. No big deal, I have a lifetime installation warranty and they'll help me figure it out. So I take the car in and tell the folks at the counter what's up. The guy I talked to was the most useless guy I've ever met. I tell him that the unit will randomly become unresponsive and will shut off. He tells me to just restart the head unit, and I tell him that I can't because all of the buttons are touch controls and when it freezes I can't do anything. This goes on for around 10 minutes and eventually he suggests we go out to the car. He had the smuggest grin on his face when he showed me how to use a power button. At this point I'm pissed and leave. Absolutely horrendous service. read more

Had every intention of purchasing a new digital media system and speakers. Went in, associate had a customer. Wasn't greeted or acknowledged. We browsed around until associate available (just a couple minutes). Went to counter, associate came out front. Didn't even look at us and was scanning a couple boxes and without eye contact he finally said "I'll be right with you", turned and went into back. Another associate walked right by us into the back as well without any acknowledgment. Guess now they know $1500 just walked out the door. Horrible horrible horrible. I went in to get a remote start put yesterday in my husbands pickup truck and I talked to Cameron. He explained that I needed a special part to make his truck turn on and he said if I didn't have it it wouldn't work. So I talked to a installer and he said the same thing. The installer was very nice! He told me they were very busy to install it but they gave me the remote start to wrap it underneath the tree. My husband loved it! He can't wait to have it installed! Great place, I got all four windows and rear tinted here and I also referred a friend who got new speakers. My tint is almost perfect - there's a few small bubbles on the rear window. I've gotta say, I bought my first pager at a Car Toys in Portland when I was 16... then went on to buying in-dash compact disc players, speaker systems, cell phones, and more. It's nice to see that they've survived the retail market over the past couple decades. Especially with many of their items being available online for less than in-store. I still recommend getting a second opinion for items that do not require service [by searching the internet], but if you're looking to upgrade equipment that requires installation, this is the place. Car Toys delivers honest service and premium products. One thing that I appreciate is when they ask what you're looking for, they will help you find exactly that, often they'll give you the up-sell pitch, but my experience is that if you know what you want, they'll give it to you straight. I recently inquired about hands-free bluetooth devices (installed vs accessory), they were able to give me the estimate for installation and show me options, gave me the pros and cons of both. I wasn't ready to spend the money for the in-dash installation, so I walked out with the less functional, less expensive, and less audible hands free Parrot device that clips to my visor (it works, but it's certainly not the best sound quality). They're knowledgeable and precise with installation services and generally give a good estimate on the time they'll need to return the vehicle. I'm sure I'll go back soon to upgrade my hands-free device. read more

I had a car that I was selling detailed at this location and almost changed my mind selling it how awesome it looked after and boy their job was cut out having two boys eating in that car for years haha. Solid 3.5 stars, pretty impressed by the service and knowledge of Cameron, esp. considering he's a management trainee. Was looking at car/phone touch systems, and narrowed it down to just 2 models. The store itself is well organized, with 2 separate back rooms to test the speakers, quality, etc. Front stuff has the cell phones. It's just a 2 hour installation but the added charges--parts and labour, installation, modules--top out at $1,000. Claims it'll be $500 cheaper than Canada so well worth to do some more research.. read more

Got the signature interior/exterior detail service. Techs thoroughly explained what was gonna be done and what wasn't . They were realistic about the scratches that were gonna come out. They worked really hard on the deeper scratches so they weren't that noticeable. Really impressed with the outcome. Kinda spendy but you definitely get what you pay for ! read more

The experience I received with this store was well worth the cost. Again the saying "You get what you pay for" rang true. Anthony the young man that details the vehicles called me and asked if he could provide a mini detail for my car that was there getting a auto start installed. What struck me about Anthony was that he took the time to try and find some business. After a poor experience at another audio store in Marysville I decided to try car toys. The sales staff was awesome even when I spent a long time looking at units they answered all my questions I had for both vehicles I wanted to put new stereos in. In the end I installed the one in my jeep as it was a bit more costly for the custom work that had to be done but they were happy I was able to get the unit to fit. I had them do the install on my wife's 2013 Forester and they did a fantastic job. When I took delivery Everything worked like the steering wheel controls and such and it looked perfect. read more

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of getting my car detailed here. Anthony and Christian were amazingly professional. I discussed what I would like done on the interior and they had the perfect solutions about pet smells and leather cleaning. These options were extra but totally worth it. Upon completion we went outside together to give the car a once over and even then, fingerprints were noticed and they quickly cleaned them off. Oh my goodness. I was encouraged by my 21 yr son's friend, having Knowledge here, but assuring they know what they're doing. I went in having no idea whatsoever as far as stereos. But my "new" 82 contempo van (POW; party on wheels) was stripped of all audio. I went by myself. I'm a 46 yr old woman like a deer in headlights. Justin was my guy. Incredible. He explained Everything, I never once felt pressure. He listened so completely I knew he understood what I couldn't express. He did not try to sell me the most expensive and I did not want the cheapest, so he focused on the best value. I'm all about best value. I was quite pleased when I left. My 55 yr old, old school husband went with me to pick up the van. He was Not happy (due to Our Own miscommunication). That was a rare mood for him. I explained that I made the decisions. I took accountability, yet they were sooo patient and aimed to please. Justin was off when we arrived but a darling gal named Addie (?) was in charge. She handled my husband like a champ. . Overall, being ignorant to this area of expertise, I found that it was nearly double the cost of what we understood (by a friend) but I needed extensive work done since I had Nothing to work with & they ended up drilling new holes plus installing cables I needed but did not have. We ended up changing & adding things In the end, & Every single person was awesome. I can't decide if my favorite part was their knowledge, patience, or communication but in the end it was probably the accommodations. They really honestly do try hard to accommodate and make sure the customer is happy. Gabe (& I can't remember the other awesome guy) that installed, were also incredibly helpful teaching us sound placement and vehicle modifications with excitement and passion. They truly knew what they were doing. I haven't found this kind of service in a long time, including my favorite places. Overall, this place was amazing. I TOTALLY recommend them (and the product insurance) and will definitely be back for my very rare vintage 1958 Terry camper restoration. We aren't rich or poor but in between. Everything was installed and worked great. They sat down and gave me a nice tutorial on my new system.
