On June 30th 2023 I took my 96 Camry in to have a stereo and a video camera system installed that I had purchased elsewhere. I was very pleased to receive a discount for my military service and everyone was very kind. They installed the front camera too low and it was in my view. The new music component seemed to work but I wasn't able to tune into any radio stations. The next thing I noticed was that the interior trim above the driver door was not attached. I had to make an appointment to bring it in. The tech said that because the stereo had only two outputs and previous stereo had 4 that were hooked up to my existing amp (under the driver seat), he had to charge me for a special cord to adapt them ..and as a result the "fader" function (front/back) would not be adjustable but that it was okay because most people keep it set at ZERO which is a default setting. I called the owner and mentioned all of this to him. On July 11th I was able to take my car in. The front manager seemed very friendly, but the tech did not seem happy. I mentioned that the antenna had probably not been plugged in, so it should be pretty simple to get the radio working. I didn't figure it would be very long to fix these things so I hung out. While walking around outside, I noticed that my car in the bay had it's trunk open. I wondered about that, but didn't worry about it because besides a first-aid kit, the trunk was empty. When he said it was done, I noticed that the front camera had been reinstalled higher but the cords were a mess and not routed neatly. The 3M adhesive had been replaced by some off-brand. The stereo had been reinstalled crooked but the radio was functioning. I called the tech over to point out the crooked radio and he went and got some tools. His attitude wasn't friendly. As he attempted to straighten the radio, the front accessory panel came loose. He shifted the stereo around but it wasn't straight and he used a bit of adhesive putty to "stick" the panel back. As he was doing this, he pointed out the accessory door and said, "Oh, and you broke your panel door here because this is how I found it but you probably never noticed that." This was a lie because we always use that accessory door and it was never broken. The employee tried to hide it and blame it on us. He said, "There you are!" and walked away. The radio of was still crooked. So, I pointed it out to the owner. He personally came out and took a look at the work. He went and got some tools and adjusted the stereo correctly. He took the adhesive putty off and went into the shop and found the correct clips for the accessory cover so it would clip back on correctly. I pointed out the broken accessory door and he said that he would have to purchase a replacement for me but it would only be a couple of days. I asked him if I would need to make an appointment and he said, "No. I will run it out to you." Over the next few days, my daughter told me that the speakers sound "different" and "not as good". I kind of noticed it too but thought it was the new stereo. There was no sound coming out of the right rear speaker..so I opened up the trunk and the first thing I noticed was all the trim from between the back seat and the trunk was hanging down. It had never been hanging down like that. I looked under the back dash and I could see the two speaker wires were not hooked up to the right rear 6x9. I reconnected them but the speaker was distorted. The tech had blown the speaker and tried to hide it by disconnecting it. That was why the trunk was open! I called the owner. He said he tried to view the camera footage in his shop but because the resolution was so high, he couldn't view that far back. He tried to suggest that it wasn't their fault. I told him that accidents happen and it's how you handle things when they do. I told him that I like to leave yelp reviews and if he does the right thing, I will give him a better review and tell the story. He agreed. He said if he had a "spare" 6x9 in one of his shops, he would install it for me. The speakers I had were German MB Quart DCC 169, sounded very good and had exceptional bass. After a couple weeks the owner said he couldn't find a speaker so would just have to replace both 6x9's. He installed 2 3-way Rockford 6x9's ($159 on Amazon). They sound "okay" but don't have the bass anywhere near what the other speakers had and don't seem like they are matched for the wattage with the amp in my car. Ultimately, I feel the owner was responsive to the first issues presented. After that though, it felt as if he needed to be "persuaded" to do the right thing. The end result isn't as good as the sound I had when I started and it took a lot of time, money, hassle, and negotiation. I should have received my money back and better replacement speakers for what I went through. Still, I agreed to give him a detailed review and better rating, so I am giving Mobile Music Unlimited Burlington 2 stars as opposed to 1 star. read more

These guys way overcharged me. i needed a new monitor for my back up camera and new lights for my rear brake lights. They did not give me an estimate ahead of time. i had no idea they charge around $100 an hour. i was shocked when the bill was suddenly over $400, AND, my break lights, were still not working. It was very confusing. Mobile Music informed me that they could not do anything about my back lights after all. They said i would have to go elsewhere, because the housing needed to be replaced. So, apparently they were charging me for three hours of time, wherein they had tried to "clean" out my housing to get it to work....?? When, they could have just discovered from the beginning that i needed a new housing. Why take several hours to "clean" something without communicating the options? i felt like they were taking advantage of me, as i was alone, a disabled woman in a wheelchair. i told the manager, Cameron, that in no way did i expect the bill to be so high. The only estimate i got was about one week prior to my appointment, and that was for the monitor, which was going to be around $30. But on the day my appointment came, they informed me that they only had a larger monitor, for around $50. i was fine with that. But then, i was shocked at the $400+ bill, especially since they were unable to get my rear lights in. i was expecting a bill around $100, maybe $200 if the rear lights were in. After protesting to the exorbitant bill, Cameron took off an extra charge that he said they "always" give customers, around $40. So, then my bill was right under $400. i paid it.... however, being a tbi survivor, i was not thinking straight, so when i paid, it overdrafted my account. Later, i contacted the company thru their website, saying i wanted to speak with the regional manager or owner. Mobile Music has a few locations. But the person who called me back, was that same guy, Cameron, who i felt had taken advantage of me. Eventually i was able to work thru the Bellingham location's manager, Sterling. He is very nice and tried to help the situation. But it was a long, drawn out, confusing process of several emails and phone calls. Guess i kinda had to be a Karen, trying to stick up for myself. They would not budge on the hours it took for them to "clean" my broken housing. But, finally, after several weeks of trying, Sterling cut me a check for around $60. Still, a horrible experience. i feel that they ripped me off, and now, every time i pass by Mobile Music, i get an awful pit in my stomach. Maybe i should have gone to the Better Business Bureau from the beginning. read more

I took for fourrunner in for a stereo installation and when I picked it up my carpet stitching was torn for wiring, my panels were scratched and broken in the rear, screws missing, amp fell off back of seat before I got home, panel clips broken and some not secured. Brought in a deck and sub for install. Sub was not installed properly and doesn't work, rear speakers no longer work, pillar speakers no longer work, sub was not mounted, volume control was not installed, power source was left loose and melted. Tech claimed no mounting hardware was in the box for the sub which is false according to the manufacturer. Worst car stereo experience ever. They did refund my money but now I need to order new mounting hardware and a replacement wiring harness, so they actually cost me $150 to order the parts to correct this garbage install. read more

This is the 2nd stereo they've installed. Can't use the headlights, the stereo flickers when I turn on the headlights. I'm sure they'll blame me some how. I've seen sloppy work before, and it isn't an issue with this place. I had the guys at Mobile Music Unlimited put a Viper 5305V system in my car about a few months prior. I was getting annoyed that I had to hit the Auxiliary button each time prior to locking/unlocking my car so that the car wouldn't chirp. In just a few minutes they were able to reprogram the remote so that I don't have to hit that button EVERY time. Additionally, they did it for NO CHARGE! So my kids put a bunch of coins in the factory DVD player in my Honda, needless to say it stopped working. First called the dealer they wanted to charge $700!!! A different car audio shop in town said "we have a lot of experience taking those apart and 0 experience putting them back together", not to reassuring. Then I called Mobile music in mt. Vernon took them about an hour but cleaned up the system and it works perfectly, only paid a fraction of the price the dealer wanted. These guys were friendly and professional. Seems like great workers ..took my car in to have them install a 5 way amp to 4 6x9s and a 8 inch sub in the rear deck...picked up the car only the 2 door speakers worked and underseat sub...but this what also stopped working ..the 3.5s in the dash...the 1 of the other underseat subs ..the 2 10s in the trunk..and the 2 5,25s in the rear arm center arm rest...went down there to ask.. they said that all the speakers worked when they gave it to me.. so had to remake a appointment for them to go through it and see.. I told them all I did was start the car and only 3 speakers worked.. it was just a switch that got bumped or something... that's parts fixed...but now have to go back and have the 3 3.5 in the upper dash reconnected because they disconnected those and they made a big difference in sound quality ( 3rd visit ) and the left/right faders are backwards LOL and I have some underdash blue ambient led lights that glow down wards to light up the floor mats .. the drivers one stopped working ... ugh .. just my typical luck ....upgrades turn into hassles for me read more

Yes, as good as it gets! Great shop and the best help I ever had! I had the very worst and I mean I never felt so bad as when I was taken by a very close by shop up the street. The other shop up the street sold me display items that was to be new. Any how, this review Isn't about that shop. But you should google the location as it is just above the freeway and stay the hell away from it. Mobil Music was very concerned about my situation and helped me with the other things I needed to complete my $3 k system. Mobil Music only received $30.00 dollars of this amount. They sat with me and listened to my winning. They had a plan on how to make my system perfect. He showed me pictures of his previous installs and a guy who has 4 monster woofs and how he drives for 3 hrs and has to pull over to recharge his battery. It's a great story and love the guy (driver/owner) of the story. He's having a blast and loving it. Is that not what sound should be? Hell ya, is the answer. His installs look beautiful.
