I called on a Monday and got my preferred time and date appointment that Thursday. My hair stylist was nicki and she was amazing, she was personable and patient with my collection of color ideas. We discussed the look I wanted. She did exactly what I asked and it came out perfect. I left feeling like a new person! I received a packet of goodies and coupons for being a new customer which is always appreciated. The head massage was AMAZING, and their wash station has this head support that makes all the difference in the world. No more neck spasms and trying to act cool while you're getting your hair washed. It was a great experience, the atmosphere was mellow and each stylist was really focused on their client. I hate how I have to come here in order to be heard, because I really tried to be understanding and calm about this situation. If you are new to town, I would not recommend this salon. New clients are paired with a level one stylist, and in my experience the quality of work and follow-up were extremely disappointing. During my first appointment with stylist Taylor Harvey, I was left with visible bleach blotches in my hair. Despite reaching out to have this corrected, I received no response. It wasn't until FOUR MONTHS later, when another issue arose, that the situation was finally addressed. During my third appointment with Taylor Harvey, I came in with clear reference photos and trusted that my hair was in capable hands. Unfortunately, there was a continued lack of professionalism. Clear communication is essential during first-time and follow-up appointments, and that did not happen here. When the final result did not match what I had asked for, I was only informed AFTER expressing concern that my desired look could not be achieved because I was booked for a partial service; a limitation that should have been explained at the beginning of the appointment. Instead, the situation was framed as a misunderstanding on my end rather than a lack of transparency. I am a college student and made it clear that this appointment was a significant expense and my primary discretionary spending. Despite this, I was still expected to pay additional costs to correct issues that stemmed from limitations that were never communicated upfront. When I attempted to contact the owner to discuss these concerns, I was told they were "too busy" to speak with me directly. As a business owner, accountability for the work of those you employ is essential, and the lack of direct communication was disappointing. The receptionist was also invasive regarding my situation and showed little empathy. It is frustrating to now have to place my trust in yet another person to fix my hair when that trust should have been honored from the start. Overall, professionalism, transparency, accountability, and compassion were lacking. Coming here to respond to said owners response, I'm sorry, but I called your receptionist DAY of when I got my hair done ( by the way, it is already yellow!!) and I ASKED for you (the owner) to the receptionist. And she told me she would give you my info. So no, I did NOT try to schedule "2 hours" before said appointment. My message a week earlier was never conveyed to you. Truly so upsetting. read more

We showed pictures of what we wanted and they gave us exactly what we wanted, if not better! I also loved how a style and wash was included in the low price of the cut so that is also a plus! I called Cara & Company because of the proximity to my house. Kayla, the receptionist at the time, was super informative and got me an appointment THE SAME DAY! I ended up cutting almost 14 inches off! I have never cut my hair beyond my shoulders, so this was a huge deal for me. Nikki did an amazing job! Not sure if I'll ever go long again. I have been to this place for haircuts 3 times now. The first time I had an okay experience. Not great, but also not terrible, and I always give a place a second chance. My second experience was in the middle of the pandemic- the good things were that they wore masks, sanitized and spaced out people appropriately. The bad was that the stylist couldn't (or wouldn't) listen to anything I asked for. My hair is very low maintenance: I do not blow dry regularly and just ask for a shoulder length cut with face- framing layers that adds volume because my hair is fine. It was like pulling teeth to get her to do face framing layers. So when I had to go back for another haircut, I SPECIFICALLY ASKED not to have that same stylist. However when I got there for my appointment it was the same person. This time she did the face framing layers but wouldn't cut my hair to shoulder length. I kept telling her that it would be too long and she said that it seemed that way because my hair was wet and since it was wavy it would pull upwards when dry. Maybe because she was too preoccupied talking to other stylists while cutting my hair. After drying it was (no surprise) still too long. I asked her to take off more length and she said that she was out of time!! I've lived in several cities all across the US, and this was by far the worst hair salon I have been to. read more

Called a week in advance to get my hair styled before an event. Was easily fit into their schedule and they were ready to get started on time for my appointment. When I showed up, I changed the game plan and asked for a simple updo when the weather got more rainy/windy than I was banking on. Morgan rolled with it and gave me a gorgeous updo that lasted all night even though my dress had to go over my head and I danced all night. She was super gentle, dedicated to getting every hair in its place, and friendly. I'd recommend her and call her again in a heartbeat. The salon had free samples and other goodies in a bag for me when I left and were very reasonably priced for such great work. The new location is beautiful. One star off the salon for a highlight job I had done here a while back from someone who didn't take into account my hair color history (or bring someone more experienced in to give her advice on it once I'd told her my history) and sort of destroyed my hair for a while in the process. This is a great salon. The stylist are professional and know what they are doing. I've been using Nicole and have been very pleased with all my hair needs. I haven't personally had my color done here but as I'm having my haircut I've seen so many beautiful cuts styles and colors being done. They do beautiful transformations on people. read more

I made an appointment here a while back thinking it would be upscale service. I asked for ash blonde highlights. My stylist was very friendly, and I believe she was fairly new, but I was not pleased with my color, it turned out very orange. I was honestly shocked she let me leave looking that way. I paid almost $200 for my highlights (only a partial foil btw) I hate to complain so I didn't know what to do. The next day I called to speak with the owner, just for her advice on what I could do, since I wasn't happy with my color, but I was told she wasn't available and I left a message. With no call back, I just went somewhere else and had to pay someone an additional $100 to correct. read more

Absolutely in love with this salon, first time I've been to see a different stylist in years. Amazing stylists/color, comfortable chairs, and beautiful salon. Extremely friendly and listened to what I wanted. I've never felt more welcomed or important. I will be returning here for all my hair care needs. Went as a walk-in to donate my hair and they got me back quickly. Everyone was super nice, however, my hairdresser rushed through it. When she was washing my hair, she was really rough and it made the experience rather uncomfortable. When I got home and was looking at my hair, she left multiple pieces of hair longer than the rest, like two inches long. I had to cut my hair myself once I got home and I honestly expected more. Based on my experience, I wouldn't go back. If you go, I recommend making an appointment so they hopefully won't rush through everything. read more

I went in with my hair down to my waist and came out with it brushing my shoulders and I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly pleased I am with the outcome. I haven't had my hair cut short in over 13 years. I felt extremely comfortable there and my stylist was highly considerate, extremely efficient, and was delightful to talk with. We went over hair products and different textures and styles and the cause and effect of different outcomes. It's a massive relief to finally find a permanent place to have my hair done. I am OBSESSED with this amazing place! I've been going to Cara and Co for years and have gone through lots of changes with my hair but have never once left feeling anything but gorgeous. I had a real bad experience. I told the stylist exactly how to cut my hair and not to cut it really short in the back and stack it. I part my hair on the side to fall down the side. I even showed her a picture. I got exactly the opposite. She cut 10 inches off the back, stacked it, parted it in the middle and left it to flip slightly under my chin. My hair is extremly straight and she used no volumizing products like I asked. Now I have a hairstyle like a puppy cut for a maltese. It's hideous. I'll resume my visits to Nouveau. They only reason I went to Cara and Co.was because my stylist was booked and I needed a cut for dead ends and styled like I normally have it before going out of town for 3 weeks. read more

I cannot even rate this place a single star. I had an appointment for a full head of blonde highlights and a trim. After 5 hours of bleaching and frying my hair I turned out completely orange. My hair dresser was nothing but rude and did nothing to fix it, the only thing she did was charge me $200 dollars. I called back the next day to speak to the owner and I had to wait 2 weeks for my hair to be "fixed". I recommend this salon to NOONE and I will not be back. Not to mention she barely gave me a trim but still charged me 45$ just for a cut. read more
