The pedicure girl brought in a plastic bucket, like something you would fill with ice and drinks in the summer. In that bucket was a green heavy duty plastic bag, a la Home Depot style filled with water. Okayyyy? So I was to soak my feet in this crappy plastic bag lined bucket? Yes, yes I was and I didn't like it. I have never experienced that in any visit anywhere. I made small talk and sat thru my pedicure but have not and will never go back. :(

I called to schedule an appointment as a new client I spoke with melody who was very helpful. As I arrived to my consult I was greeted by my first name with a smile (she knew exactly who I was when I walked in) I was then offered coffee or tea and asked to complete new patient forms. once completed Victoria brought me back to the consult room where she did a analysis for my skin with a special camera! She showed me all the layers, damage, wrinkles, hydration etc. she explained to me in detail treatment options to help brighten my skin she also recommended an at home skincare regiment for me (that I'm so in love with!! I'd Definitely recommend their HA5 product to anyone) After hearing all my options we both agreed that the hydra facial would be the best place to start in my treatment plan ! She was able to get me in for the treatment right after the consult! The treatment was very relaxing! She walked me through every step! What an amazing place - from the minute I walked into Cara Mia, I knew I was in excellent hands! I was greeted with big smiles all around and truly felt welcomed. The soothing atmosphere and decor helped calm my nerves - I have never had a facial or any other work done so I was nervous. Victoria sat down with me and explained some of their services without rushing or trying to "make the sale" as I've heard other spas do. This spa is absolutely stunning! It's so clean, relaxing and professional. All staff members greeted me with a smile, were informative, listened to my problems and suggested the most appropriate solution. Victoria Viola treated me with the hydra facial. It was about a thirty minute relaxing facial that cleared my face of all the build up and impurities (using red and blue light lasers: red reduces redness and the blue kills bacteria). I first visited Anne at Shizoku Skin in January of this year (2015) because of an really bad…read moreunexpected breakout I was experiencing (in my early 30s). From the first email exchange, she seemed very friendly and concerned, so I went in to see her. Her location is immaculate, peaceful and very private. Anne makes you feel extremely comfortable and takes time to listen, learn, suggest and advise. She was not at all pushy about products or her services--all she gave me was good, solid advice. I took her advice, followed the regimen she prescribed for several weeks and my skin starting improving. I decided that I wanted to get more hardcore, and talked to her about specific facials to target hyperpigmentation that I'd been dealing with the last 20 years (yep, since I was 13). To be honest, I had extremely low expectations since I've tried everything from natural home made remedies (read turmeric and chickpea powder on my face) to expensive department store lightenings serums. Nothing worked, so I figured, why not? The worst that can happen is absolutely nothing. So, it's now 7 months later, and after 3 ferulic acid facials and sticking to Anne's recommended regimen (of her awesome Shizoku Skin products) my skin no longer looks like a battlefield! While it isn't perfect, I don't spend nearly an hour in the bathroom applying make-up anymore, and I'm much more comfortable having very minimal make-up on. When I do apply full make-up, I get a random compliment on my skin. As I mentioned, I'm in my early 30s, have been battling with acne / hyperpigmentation for about 20 years and my complexion is a sun beige (at least that's what my make-up bottle says--I'm of mostly Indian descent). So, not only am I on my way to better skin (I'm certain it will continue to improve), the investment with Anne was very little compared to what could have been if I went to a dermatologist or did a complete trial and error of every.single.lightening / brightening lotion potion out today. Not to mention the stress you put your skin under by constantly using new things on your face. I also love that Shizoku Skin products are a mix of natural and clinical. This was a great concern of mine, and she took it very seriously when recommending products for me. Finally, I felt like I was on vacation every time I went in for a facial. It's so relaxing and peaceful while you're getting beautified. P.S. Anne is the best. You'll want to shrink her down and keep her in your pocket for random questions about skin health and beauty, or a random fun conversation about nothing in particular. If you need further proof of her expertise, just look at her. She is the poster-child for beauty / beautiful skin!
