I would steer clear of Cara Mia if you are looking for skin cancer screening. I'm sure they have other strengths but based on my experience as well my daughter's experience in the last few months, they have missed or mis-diagnosed skin cancer and/or pre-skin cancer on 2 out of 2 people for 2 out of 2 visits. That's flat out scary. We both went for 2nd opinions and both of those appointments revealed the fact that spots Cara Mia missed or mis-diagnosed were cancer or pre-cancer as well as some spots Cara Mia wanted to biopsy, were nothing to worry about, for both of us. And on top of that, within minutes of the start of the exam, the Cara Mia started freezing off 7 spots that who knows if they were pre-cancer or not. It felt like there was a lot of up-selling happening but I can't be positive, just my hunch. But most importantly to miss skin cancer is just dangerous on their part. read more

Who calls and leaves a message in the morning saying they have your biopsy results and to call back - but after 3 attempts throughout the day and leaving 3 messages (one WITH a human) - they all went home for the weekend WITHOUT returning my call????? Terrible customer service. If the biopsy was good, they would've said that in the message but instead they just leave you "not knowing" over a weekend. Incredibly unprofessional. How desensitized are people that it doesn't phase them to NOT return a phone call? My last dermatologist that had negative results, called me personally. Definitely not the same experience here. read more

Seen by a PA, not a doctor. Good skin was frozen; spots that should have been were not frozen. Some body parts were not even examined. She seemed in a hurry. PA had not seen my previous records from former dermatologist. Office staff seemed unengaged and bored. Will never go back. Not only was their incompetence, it bordered on malpractice. read more

I've been attempting for several months to get scheduled for ADVERTISED Botox specials. it's been an excruciatingly difficult process! it's very hard to try to get someone to actually speak to. Calls are rarely returned and, though I just received the email advertising a special, supposedly their schedule is already totally booked. They couldn't even THINK about finding a spot until the END OF JULY! I find them uninformed, inefficient and difficult to work with. read more

I went to have a simple procedure done. Because it was cosmetic, I told them that I would pay out of pocket and to not bill my insurance company. I told the receptionist this twice. I paid for the services with my credit card. About a month later I got a bill of $55 to pay for what my insurance company did not cover. I called Cara Mia and told them that I had paid out of pocket. I explained their error. I spoke with Sara, Felicia, and Rodain (in accounting). I was always told that they understood how frustrating that must be to have not had my payment wishes honored and that they would call me back with clarification. No one ever called me back. I had to call the company on my own over five times. Each time I was apologized to and told that I would get a call back. After a month of this, I decided to pay the $55 even though I had already paid out of pocket the first time. I did not want my credit score to be affected because of them dragging their feet on fixing their error. They cannot be trusted to do the right thing nor call back when they say they will. Stay FAR FAR away! Can't get a hold of the office manager after 3 months of trying to resolve a billing issue. I went in for a routine skin check along with my 4 year old daughter. To start/ the doctor looked at me like I was a nuisance for bringing her in for a check and said "do you really want me to even check her" I said well she just has one I was concerned about- took one second and said nope she's fine- Billed $389. I would have appreciated the full skin check at that rate. For my visit I told her I made the app because I was concerned about one on my arm. Again she looked at me like I was crazy and said it's fine but if you want I can take it. I wanted it gone because it looked just like one I had in the past that came back with cancerous cells. Sure enough it came back after the biopsy and needed to be removed. To note - they literally just scraped the mole from my arm at this app no surgical procedures took place. It cost me over $1500 for this. $1000 of that being PATHOLOGY! I'm not sure what billing practices they are doing here but it's a scam. I went to my old office across town and to have an entire surgical removal/sutures/pathology my bill was $300. Pathology being billed only $110. Another example- I had a colonoscopy this summer and my pathology was only $180 and that was for a level 4 vs this. What I'm trying to get across is they are billing at EXTREMELY high allowable rates if you can even call it that. Totally taking advantage of their patients and not having a care in the world. And don't even try to ask for an estimate up front because there is no way they will give you one. Absolutely horrible practices are taking place at this clinic. I highly suggest you go else where. read more

I have been going to Dermatology Associates for years for my annual skin check up. Love my doctor, and love the warm, friendly service.

I am very fair and prone to skin cancer. they've found actinic keratosis as well as a couple of basal cell carcinomas, one of which died after it was biopsied. they've always been professional and quick. The negative reviews seem to be for the breast cancer center, so I'm confused why they're sssociated with this group. My ex husband had an anomalous reaction the the salicylate drug used for IBS( the incompetence of the doctor who "diagnosed this is a whole other rant), but it included gout followed by a pyoderma gangrenosum infection-- both side effects of the drug. Once I got him off the drug these guys took care of the nasty and growing infection on his arm, and all he has now is a scar. These guys are good. read more

I have been going to Nicole ( PA at Parker office ) for about 3 yrs. She is very professional, efficient and very knowledgeable. She always takes time to answer all my questions, gives helpful advise and doesn't suggest unnecessary treatment. I would recommend Nicole for any dermatology services. read more

I have been happy with the treatment from the doctors we've gotten over the years, however, I am appalled with the front desk treatment. I was literally yelled at by the person I spoke with on the phone after I asked a question. We've had appointments made incorrectly that delayed treatment and are consistently talked down to. It really is an issue that needs to be addressed--we are likely going to go to a different location. read more

This practice saw my son for his acne and on two occasions they have made mistakes on his prescription. I am not sure what is going on but they also make appointments and then leave messages that we have to reschedule. Very frustrating. read more

The Parker office is filled with lazy, rude, unprofessional, snooty women. From the check in who was cuddled in her chair with a pillow and failed to greet me. I actually mentioned to her how comfortable she looked before she even noticed me... the MA who said my name wrong and never even bothered to ask if she said it right... she was so busy looking at my lip (the reason I was there) she sent my prescription to a pharmacy 20 miles away. I asked her if I needed to check out, I had paid my copay at the online check in and didn't need any follow up, but she sent me there anyway. Christina was checking out never even looked at me, I asked her if I needed to check and her response was "I don't know, what's the name" I told her my name and and she said no.... That was it... When I showed up to the pharmacy they informed me of the error so I immediately called the Parker office... my appt was at 9 it was now 2... the lady who answered didn't give her name but told me it would be hours before the message got to Paula..: I explained that I was already at the pharmacy and she told me to leave and go back later or another day. I needed my medication ASAP and explained that. She said it would still be hours. I asked for the office manager and she said there wasn't one, I asked who ran the office and she said the front desk. I asked her name and she gave me the name Rayian or something I asked for the Dr in charge and she there were no Drs at that location so I said have the dr who saw me call me, she repeated that there were no doctors in that office ... she was so rude and condescending, not helpful at all and I became frustrated as I sat at the pharmacy I told her she needed to stop playing games with me and she hung up on me... I called the Aurora office (my home office) to have error fixed and when the person answered I asked their name, they gave the same name so I hung up and drove to the Aurora office to speak to them in person. When I got there the receptionist was on the phone. When she was done I asked her name and it was the same Rayan name!!! I told her I showed up to talk to the dr at the office and I was the one who had called... she had no idea who I was and informed me I had spoke to someone at the Parker office based on the number I called... when I called it again I front of her, there was no one at the Parker office with that name... so they gave me the wrong name.... I actually feel like they gave me the name of the young lady working in the Aurora office who actually was extremely helpful the day prior and that day. She was able to get my RX transferred to the correct pharmacy and was pleasant to work with despite my frustration. I will never go the Parker office again and I suggest no one else does either ... We had the worst experience on 7/16/19, starting out with the rudest MA, she doubted us about being seen at that office before, tried drawing blood from the wrong child and started getting everything ready for that blood draw without sanitizing her hands or wearing gloves. When I asked if we can have the blood drawn at a lab, she was even more rude. When the doctor came in she stood about 3 feet away from my daughter and said "you didn't try your sisters meds? Well, I think we should just increase the dosage on the pills you're on!" I called 3 times to speak with the office manager and she finally returned my call and apologized for the rudest and unsanitary experience we had. Although I was told there's no requirement to sanitize or wear gloves except when actually inserting the needle for a blood draw. I was told that she would speak to the owner and get back to me, I still have not received that returned call. read more

Horrible customer service at the front desk. Receptionists are rude and unprofessional. They messed up scheduling 3 of my appointments in a row. After they finally got my appointment right I ended up having to wait 25 minutes before the doctor came into the room to see me. Don't go here! Such a waste of time! read more
