My experience with this practice started off on the wrong foot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was assigned a therapist and found the onboarding process confusing. There were no clear instructions provided regarding how to access the Zoom appointments, which created unnecessary stress before the first session.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During both my first and second appointments, the sessions lasted only about 20 minutes. The therapist seemed distracted and disengaged throughout our conversations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked a question during one session, I felt dismissed by the response I received. The overall interaction felt impersonal, and I did not feel heard or supported.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Much of the time was spent sending handouts and assigning homework rather than building rapport or understanding my concerns. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also felt that the therapist was reluctant to engage on camera, which made it more difficult to establish a therapeutic connection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After two sessions, I decided the relationship was not a good fit and chose to cancel my third appointment. The cancellation policy was confusing. The practice states that cancellations require three business days' notice, but because therapists work weekends, it was unclear what qualifies as a business day. I canceled on Thursday morning for a Monday appointment, spoke with the office, explained that the therapist was not a good fit, and specifically asked whether I would be charged. I was later assessed a $125 cancellation fee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I contacted the office to request consideration or clarification, my request was denied without exception. While I understand practices need cancellation policies, I found the communication around the policy unclear and the handling of the situation disappointing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On a positive note, I have since found another therapist who has been attentive, engaged, kind, and present during sessions. That experience has highlighted for me how important a strong therapeutic fit can be. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In the short period with Carative Psychiatry, I would say that our experience working with the providers have not been great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went through two providers for psychotherapy treatment. The first one was consistent with the appointments however, the majority of the sessions were 15 minutes long and yet we are billed for a 50 minutes session. It does not take 35 minutes to chart. In addition, the therapist appears to be on a treadmill during th appointment. I believe this shows lack of quality of care which is against their philosophy and the provider putting her self interests first and not the client which clearly against their philosophy of quality if care and enhancing wellbeing of the client along with the NASW code of ethics. It also shows, unprofessional manners. Hence, one of the major reasons for the change to a new provider. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The second provider had a no call, no show of either the third or fourth scheduled appointment with her. She showed no effort in reaching out or make arrangements to reschedule the appointment sooner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Makes me wonder what Carative Paychitry's policy is or repercussion for their staff when patients would have to pay a fee for no call no show. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During the three months with the second provider, she rescheduled twice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We are also seeing Carative Psychiatry for medication management. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have been seeing Jenn Simplice for the last six months via Zoom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She is very knowledgeable about the medication I am taking and helped me to lower the dose of one of my medication (which is a good thing). [[HIGHLIGHT]]She always has a smile when she opens the meeting and is genuinely happy to see me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I can chat with her for a few minutes, which feels like I'm taking part in my health care plan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend working with Jenn Simplice if you need someone to help you with psychiatric medication. This review is related to the billing and insurance part of this business. For virtual service. This provider is in-network for my insurance. My family has been on the same health insurance since 2003 with no breaks in coverage. The people in the billing and insurance didn't seem to be able to figure out how to read and use health insurance card. After charging my adult child the $30 copay, they turned around and charged $150 retroactively claiming that she was no longer insured which was wrong. Then, she canceled the next appointment until all this billing stuff was worked out and they charged her for that one as well claiming that it's in the contract that they will Bill the day before the service. Who makes you pay for service you haven't had yet? So now she's out $300 when it should have been $30. She called it was on speaker so I heard it. Talked to the insurance folks about it they said they would do a refund would take between two to five business days. Those days pass no refund. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She called again - every time she calls she gets a different answer from those people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We get my insurance company involved. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is no direct number to talk to the people in billing insurance so my insurance company was unable to have a conversation with my child and the insurance department at the same time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My insurance company informed the person who answered the phone, not billing, that there has been no lapse in service, the copay is $30, and they need to refund her [[HIGHLIGHT]]It took several more calls including having me speak to the insurance person as the owner of the policy and they were so rude and so incorrect in their information.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They told me that I needed to be quiet and let them explain how it works even though I already know how it works, it's my insurance policy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They insisted repeatedly that my insurance company told them that we had a lapse in coverage which of course we did not. I told them they made a mistake they called the wrong company whatever they did was wrong because their information is not correct. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also just had no sympathy for anything and no inkling at all that they could have made an error which of course they made many many errors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 2 months later my daughter finally got refunded after probably hours of time and stress. Because of this, she will never do any business with this company again. I don't know how the therapist was, doesn't matter. We will find another place for her to get service and never use this company ever ever again. Regarding the business owner's response: As I stated in my original review, Ashley answered the phone rudely, was short with me, and had a disrespectful tone. I was not "comforted" by anyone at the business. I'm surprised I received a response from the business owner below (Ashley Cyronak) because she knows she was wrong and rude to me. Ashley started to change her tone with me only after I started crying out of frustration. She offered a new provider, but I would never even consider receiving medical advice in this practice. I am still in the process of filing a complaint with the board. It's unimaginable that the staff, including the business owner, would speak to mental health patients in this manner. Obviously, it's all about the money rather than patient care. I am also really displeased with Crystal Hopkin's medication recommendations, which is why I will only seek medical advice from an M.D. now. The medication she put me on caused a 15-pound weight gain, which she NEVER mentioned would be a possible side effect. Besides being extremely unprofessional, she is also not effective. read more

First thing I would say, and it's not a direct reflection on the practice themselves, but rather the psychiatrists that they employ, is this: my first appointment through Carative was with Art Yeh​. I was seeking out diagnoses for a few different mental disorders and when I came prepared with reasons for my suspicion, I was simply told that the symptoms were probably just my period (among other extremely damaging things) and that I didn't have anything other than CPTSD, which I already knew. I met with a different psychiatrist through Carative, and was​ promptly diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder, based off my "in your face" symptoms. As far [[HIGHLIGHT]]as Carative specifically, management was very understanding and validating when I mentioned my experience, and they were very quick to get me booked in with a different psychiatrist[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. So the practice itself was definitely good, just be careful with some of their employees. read more
