Carbon Knife Co. gave me flashbacks to Nishiki Market in Kyoto....those amazing chefs knifes. For Christmas we bought a family member an amazing knife and magnetic knife holder....Simply gorgeous. Superb Service in a great shop stocked with all kinds of Kitchen goodies. Seriously if you go in here your jaw will drop....I know mine did!

My wife and I love this store. The selection of kitchen utensils is amazing. They have a big selection of stainless steel items as well. The service is unmatched. Every time I come in they treat me so well and have tons of patience, knowledge, and personal experience to help you find exactly what you're looking for. The value my wife and I have gotten from this store and its staff has been incredible. They have thought us and given us so many little tips and tricks to make life in the kitchen easier and safer. Such an amazing place, you won't regret stopping in.

Super cool concept.. a board of back of house job listings in the area!

Stumbled upon the most adorable urban kitchen shop while brewery hopping in RiNo with my brother who is a classically trained Italian chef. While both of us enjoyed the offerings at Carbon Knife, it was my brother who absolutely loved the kitchen tools and knives. They were recognized for their true quality and the cultures from which they originate. This is a go-to for line cooks and home chefs, alike. I highly recommend this spot if you're in the market for a new knife or knife sharpening of your own set. The cookbooks they carry are just as fun to flip through as the stock their shelves with books from Japanese and Italian cultures! While this is a great shop to parooze while you're in the neighborhood, I recommend you give them a call if there's something specific you're looking for, as it is a smaller store. Happy shopping & cooking!

One had previous sent me a supposedly new item that clearly wasn't with accompanying sketchy information, so they were a hard no. The second had an error on their site so actually didn't have it. That left Chef's Corner. Took a bit for me to pull the trigger but their well organized site and fantastic Yelp reviews convinced me, along with a generous first purchase discount. I have to applaud them for being prompt to respond to inquiries, and their willingness to address a shipping challenge was truly a blessing. I bundled several items and everything arrived sooner than expected and in flawless condition. When I was setting up my table it caused me to look harder at a piece I recently ordered direct from Le Creuset and I discovered a flaw, (already proving a hassle to rectify that) so going forward I would absolutely order from Chefs Corner instead of direct from manufacturer. This company is unparalleled in a lot of respects in comparison to a lot of others selling the only brand of cookware I have interest in-Le Creuset. Well worth trusting in and shopping with them via their beautiful site. Big time kudos!

Who knew Sur la Table offered cooking classes?!?!…read more This was a super fun experience and way less intimidating than I originally imagined. Very non cook friendly, haha. The class lasts about 2.5 hours and includes your meal, of course, at the end. I would have loved to enjoy our steak dinner with a glass of red wine, but this location (and maybe them all) don't have a liquor license, so this was a miss for me. But, that said, I do get why the lot would forgo the license. There was some cooking magic, which speeds things up and helps bypass some of the tedious parts of some recipes. If you're wanting to cook everything from beginning to end, this may not be your best option. But, if you're wanting to get a real sense of how to cook / bake differ t things with a fun atmosphere to boot, this is for you!

Someone else who was waiting let us know that they don't open the doors till 10. Once they did open, we spent 15 minutes browsing the retail area waiting for the class to start. Once we got inside the classroom, we were directed to the coat rack and then to the sink to wash up and put on our aprons. Chef Laurie was our instructor and she did a great job of demonstrating and helping everyone. It was a full class of 16 and when I mentioned to her that I felt we were being rushed, she let me know that it's much better with less students. I really feel like they should cap the class at a smaller number to ensure everyone feels they aren't so rushed. We worked in groups of 4 so my daughter and I were paired with another couple - who we really clicked with. All of our ingredients were pre-measured on trays for each of the 3 pastries that we made. We made our Bomboloni dough but didn't use it because it takes too long to rise so we used pre-made dough and Laurie would use the dough we made for something else. Working in a group of 4 actually helped us finish everything more quickly because while someone was doing one thing, the others were doing something else. I did feel like I didn't get to do much though - I would have liked to actually do all the steps. Then we made our Tiramisu and it was taken away to be refrigerated. Laurie had a helper who did all the washing up of our bowls, tools, and mixer pieces so they were ready for the next item, and that was a big help. Next we made our cannoli shells and while those were frying, we made the filling. Then we cut out our Bomboloni dough and fried and filled that. The pastries came out pretty good but because we were so rushed we weren't able to make an even number to split between the groups. The class ended before noon which seemed very short. I enjoyed the class but I think this could have been a much better experience if they had actually given us the 120 minutes or capped the class at less people.
