I had heard home renovation could be an overwhelming undertaking with hiccups, false starts,…read moredelays, and sometimes even outright failures. I had never gone through major remodel or worked with a designer before and was unsure of the process. I researched and spoke with several designers. When talking with Carla's A Classic Design, what stuck with me was that right away they showed genuine excitement and great vision around the possibilities. And they were firm, but polite, about the existing design elements that had to go. The renovation included a full kitchen, two bathrooms and a mud room. Angie and team asked me a lot of questions about my tastes, listened to my ideas and brought back a vision that was awesome! They did such a great job of ensuring the design was something that I would love. The result is that they gave me such a beautiful place, one that I couldn't imagine getting to on my own, but it feels 100% mine and I enjoy it every day! We loved the work Carla and Angie provided so much that we hired them again to do the complete design for our vacation home. I was immediately charmed and had to explore. What impressed me most is the variety of items, some high end, some mid range, all unique and gift-able. In the days of online shopping and Amazon, finding a rare gem like this, one where I can support a small business run by a mom and son, well there's nothing better. Around every corner was something for my eyes to behold. Here you'll find some lovely party napkins, a bauble that sparkles, the perfect card for a friend or a fantastic piece of decor for the season. I picked up a stunning wooden angel which is proudly displayed on my holiday mantel, a few unique plates for gifts, a wooden inlay cheese knife and a few other gifts that will be the perfect sentiment for dear friends. Then a girl with blue hair and eyebrows and a nasty demeanor let us know it was 8 minutes before close and then asked if we needed help. There literally was only one other family that came into the store the whole time we were there and only for a few minutes. My daughter looked around the entire store 2-3 times while I was looking at wallpaper. Neither the manager or the girl with blue hair said anything to either of us. My daughter said the blue haired girl was on her phone and she didn't see the manager. As we were leaving the manager comes up and asks if she can help us. I told her were had been there 45 minutes and no one has offered to help us except a few minutes prior. She said the designers were not available and I should have read the signs in the wallpaper area. She said she and the other girl were the only employees there and busy helping people in the paint department. Since there were really no other customers and my daughter saw otherwise, this was a complete falsehood. Clearly she was not management material (blonde haired, middle aged lady) and the blue haired girl was not interested in customer service only here phone. Both were rude, unprofessional. I would not recommend going to this location or Guiry's in general. It's too bad, I have bought many things there in the past.

The barstools were on clearance so I had to search for the last one. I called every At Home store, and eventually connected with a woman named Julia in the Olathe, KS store. She was amazing. So helpful, so full of helpful information and so polite and professional. Customer service is so poor in so many areas of our lives these days. It was wonderful to connect with someone who really put forth the effort to be pleasant and helpful. Thank you Julia (I sure hope I got the name correct!!) you are such an asset to the industry. I hope you are appreciated by this organization.

I did find the "Let's Flamingle" door mat, which will vastly irritate my pun-loathing friends. They didn't have the "Go Away" door mat. Or the one that says, "I hope you brought wine." Ah well. I found a couple more flamingo things, but discovered to my surprise that they do not carry slipcovers. This strikes me as odd for such a gigantic store. It was difficult to find anyone to help me, but when I did, he was very helpful. Almost everything I bought was summer stuff on clearance. A lot of summer and garden stuff is NOT on clearance. Also weird, as I write this in early November. I didn't really need two adorable garden gnomes, but I wanted them. Alas, not on clearance, and neither was the large grey resin alligator. I probably would have bought it at $40, but definitely not at $80. Silly impulses can only go so far. $80 is too far for me. Hangers are well priced, will go back and get them another time. It's always the ugliest patio cushions that go on sale. Oh well. Some patio umbrellas are on clearance, others are not. Also weird. Maybe some patterns are temporary and others permanent stock.

The staff is very helpful in discussing our needs and helping us find the right products, providing interior design guidance as needed. We keep coming back because of the high quality and unique items we find there. Every time we browse the showroom floor, we find treasures that we just can't pass up. We desire a distinctly southwestern style, and D'Amore has had just what we need, every time. We have been frequenting D'Amore Interiors since they were located on the I-70 Frontage on the West side of Denver. I guess that must be close to two decades! When they moved to their current location, we found them promptly, as we needed some leather dining room chairs! If you want to replace the high pressure furniture shopping routine for a great furniture shopping experience, including honest staff and prices, and fine, unique pieces, I highly recommend D'Amore Interiors.
