I needed a refrigerator for our employee lunchroom. Have made many purchase's from Cresco over the years so called and Lynda answered the phone. Told her what I wanted and was told they had several in stock and was given options. I selected the one I wanted and asked when I could get it and she said what about tomorrow! Wow couldn't believe it and they would took our old one. She quickly scanned me the paperwork, I paid for it and delivery time was set up. Lynda was a Rock Star! Very pleasant to work with, must have taken 10 min. and I didn't have to get in vehicle and drive over. I worked here during a dark time in my life, and the insurance saw me through rehab. The management was solid, and supportive. Ownership was more than understanding, and solid as well. This review is strictly for restaurants. I have been going to Cresco for about 7 years now. We opened up our first location in 2011 and our second location this year, 2014. We have spent very close to $20,000 in equipment and supplies. I have never had an issue with anything (other than pricing) I have ever purchased and never had any need to return anything until recently. Some of the staff recognizes us and even knows our family. Recently we were put in a bind and needed to buy pizza paddles and couldn't wait for an order (10/31/14 Halloween Day=very busy for pizza), so we went to cresco. They only had one option for a pizza paddle that was metal. I was shocked to see that they were on sale for $49.95 (this is the most expensive pizza peel I have ever seen)! I asked the cashier if there were any other options I was unaware of. She said they use to carry different ones, but they don't have any right now. I asked her if she knew why they were so expensive and she said she didn't know. I was very hesitant, but didn't really have much of a choice except to drive 45 minutes out of my way somewhere else. I reluctantly bought 3 thinking that maybe they are just really high quality (and they did seem nicer/thicker) and I really just wanted to get the paddle situation over with. Well sure enough, my instincts were right. After a very busy night we quickly realized the paddles had a very big flaw... The would handle goes down to the metal paddle in a wedge shape and is held on by 3 rivet/allen wrench looking screws. The problem lies with the wedge shape. When you peel a pizza off the screen, this wood handle gets the screen caught between the metal peel and the wooden handle. If you don't use screens, this may not be a problem for you. We have 4 deck ovens and it can be hard to get under the screen with a wooden paddle, so we have to use metal. Conveyor ovens, again may not be as difficult. We ended up using the paddle until we ended up getting them replaced (3 days later) on the following Monday and I went to return them the following Thursday (last week, which was 5 days after purchase). To return the paddles they got the store manager involved who then asked me a series of questions and took pictures of the paddles. We talked about the issue and he then called the manufacturer and spoke with them for a few minutes. He then said that the paddles looked like they were 3 months old and that they had been abused. He said the rivets are torched in to place at however many degrees and that we must have left the paddles in the oven... Wow! Who leaves paddles in the oven?! Yeah, we threw the paddle in the oven and cooked them...(sarcasm) lol. Yes, they go in an oven set at 625 degrees, because it is a pizza paddle! After spending nearly $20,000 and having my first return EVER, I was astonished at the pettiness of this business. Just beware, if they argue about pizza paddles after five days, imagine what they will do with something that actually costs a lot of money! Another note, I would suggest this place as a complete convenience only circumstance. We learned the hard way (after spending lots of money) that this place is VERY over priced. You will pay up to twice as much for some items. So, if you are purchasing a lot of stuff, go elsewhere. I only give this place 2 stars due to convenience of location and they have helped me in the past. After this, I will drive the extra distance to go elsewhere. I added pictures of the paddles. Yes they are dirty, that's what happens in restaurants, especially through the busy weekend (remember I bought this on a Friday on Halloween. but note the side of the paddle where it wedges and you will see the wood is still very clean. This is where it is not handled and does not touch anything like the deck or a screen and if it were an old paddle it would be dirty as well. read more

This THE PLACE to get restaurant grade supplies for your business or home. Don't go here if you are shopping on a Best Buy or Sears Home store mentality and just looking for lowest price because this place is based on quality, not price. You get what you pay for. They sell serious industrial strength tools for the professional cook, the stuff that real cooks use not the fluffy stuff sold on infomertials. The store is not pretty and aisles are sometimes cluttered. It is not a Best Buy or Kitchens R Us, it is a real store where real cooks go for their tools of the trade. Friend of mine had some cool kitchen tools and told me he buys at Cresco. Not knowing what to expect when I get there it was incredible EVERYTHING you could possibly need for restaurant, catering business or home and no department store off brand junk. Very well organized and clean. I purchased a Boos block cutting board that store employee Linda directed me on my choices of sizes uses and even how to keep it in great shape (Very Knowledgeable) and helped show me some other items I was interested in. There's good news and bad news. First, it is WAY easier to find things you need at this place than it is at your local Goodwill, and while the pricing is the same, everything you're buying here is new. I like my slotted spoons fresh and untouched. They did not, however, have rubber baking scrapers (the really basic, 50 cent ones), or a souffle dish. The dish was the primary reason we schlepped all the way out to Aurora in the first place (dog in the backseat, hanging out the window, for all 30 minutes of that drive). They have a pretty good baking supply aisle, and their cooling racks were way cheaper than Target. We got a super efficient potato ricer for $12, and a slotted spoon for $2. My man was quite taken with a wok he got for $16. And whenever it's time for us to start our bakery, we'll be outfitted with ALMOST everything we need! read more

This is a really cool store, even if you aren't a chef or don't own your own restaurant. The equipment here is all VERY good quality and the staff are quite helpful. It's worthwhile to go here even just to check out all the cool commercial size equipment like 100 qt stockpots and 60 qt, 4 horsepower stand mixers. There are a lot of useful kitchen gadgets here that are hard to find elsewhere and the prices on the house hold types of items are unbeatable. read more

If you're an Food Network addict, this store will give you multiple orgasms. The gadgets! The gadgets! The 'restaurant equipment and supply' may have you imagining a store full of booth seats, chandeliers, and jukeboxes, but in reality, this is a huge space packed to the rafters with professional grade kitchen equipment. The downside is, if you're not really in need of these gadgets, it's hard to justify the professional grade prices. However, if you ARE a great cook, the knives alone are worth the trip. It's painful just to watch someone trying to make sushi with lousy knives- much less to do it yourself. This could also be a great spot to find a wedding gift for foodies and wine afficionados, or holiday/birthday presents for that gourmet cook in your family who always makes 12 things for the 'bring a dish to share' family potluck. read more

I ordered a full-size Bakers Pride convection oven from Chet, who is very knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Had the oven delivered to a town in western PA. The delivery driver helped unload the 580lb oven and was easy to work with. The second day of use the oven wouldn't heat. Called Chet in Colorado he recommend 2 service companies in PA. They arrived bright and early the next morning, found 2 loose wires, everything was covered under warranty and the oven has been working perfectly ever since! This place is pretty impressive. I did end up purchasing a few things here but I felt like I wasn't getting THAT great a deal on what I did get. Apparently they have different sales weekly just like most other places, so my advice is if you see something you like keep an on eye on it because chances are it will be sale priced in the near future. I purchased a commercial refrigerator from Jeff at Cresco in Jan 2012. Though courteous at time of sale things changed 3 days later. I found the same unit for 233.00 cheaper here in Denver so I called to advise and see what they could do. George the manager I presume was finishing a deal with another customer on a larger version of the same unit I bough and it was being sold for less than I paid for the smaller unit. I asked about a refund of the difference I had seen on the in stock unit and brought up over hearing the cheaper price on the larger unit. He stated it had no relevance on my purchase and his quote was (I can't help it if they want to sell it below cost at the other place) which was false as it is cheaper at Katom.com with free shipping, and I confirmed there was still profit with the guys at Restaurant Depot. Needless to say they will do nothing for you after you pay so I would avoid them when possible. Restaurant Depot has much better service and prices if you need it in Denver. As for me they have lost over $11,000 in additional equipment purchases I made after that for 233.00 (you lost that Pizza oven Jeff, and the matching freezer). Enjoy that windfall my friends as I have turned 3 other customers to alternative places to make the purchases they needed. Denver is big but the internet is bigger and customer service and fair pricing reigns supreme now days. read more

This is my go-to place for all kitchen equipment. It is also my go-to place to be treated with utmost respect and sincerity from the staff, especially Jeff. Jeff has been helping me since 2016, and it is his outgoing nature, care, and diligence in finding any product that has me coming back. I have purchased knives, a commercial refrigerator, wooden prep table, kitchen shoes, 240V rice cooker, CAMBROs, and that's not even scratching the surface. CRESCO carries every imaginable size of food storage container, hotel pans, kitchen tools, and even most obscure of gadgets. It is a museum of sorts--and if you have the spare time, lend your ear to Jeff for a quick rhyme! This man is a poet and oh yeah he knows it--(as well as the regulars and the staff). Add it to the list of things he knows--like where to get the best deal on a propane tank, how to properly assemble a shelving unit, and what tools are available to save time in the kitchen. And if he does not have it, Jeff knows who to call to get it. Drop-shipping? No problem. There are no problems here...coming here lets me detach the connection between kitchen and crippling stress/anxiety. I had a freezer break on me on a Friday night and I desperately needed a new one before my restaurant opened Saturday morning. I went to several restaurant supply stores where everyone was less than helpful and prices were too high. I then went to cresco and found Jeff Landon. He was extremely helpful and even started running a freezer for me while I was in my way so I could make sure it was holding temp when I got there. It was only him and another employee in the crazy busy store but managed to get me out of there quickly since I told him I was in a hurry. I will be back. read more
