Oh Cardenas, Cardenas. This place is good if you need to buy that Latin stuff that you cannot buy at the typical supermarket. You can find some bomb.com carnitas here! Their staff can be a little extra sometimes, very stuck up and what not but if you come in here knowing what you want to get you can ignore and bypass the rude staff and go about your business. You can get some delicious tortillas here too, but if you are looking for meats, for example to make carne asada.. DON'T COME HERE.. go to a local market like mendez or something else. Our experience at Cardenas on Christmas Day 12/25/25, was absolutely terrible and completely ruined what was supposed to be a happy family night. We arrived with my whole family about 15 minutes before closing. I had already checked online, and it clearly said the store closed at 8:00 PM for Christmas, yet the doors were shut at 7:45 PM. When we politely tried asking if we could please be let in, the manager, Maria, was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Instead of explaining anything, she rudely swung her hand at us, signaling us to go away, like we were an inconvenience instead of customers. That alone made my entire family feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. On top of that, Cardenas promises fresh produce and reliable store hours, but clearly, they failed to keep both. It only got worse when we tried speaking to the employees. They talked back with disgusting attitudes, mumbling negative comments under their breath and acting annoyed that we even asked a question. Their behavior was rude, disrespectful, and honestly embarrassing for a business that claims to value its customers. The attitude we were met with was straight-up vomit . We went from being happy and excited on Christmas to feeling disrespected and upset, and this situation caused emotional distress to the younger kids in our family as well. Cardenas seriously needs to reconsider who they hire--people who are willing to work their scheduled hours, keep their negative comments to themselves, and treat customers with basic kindness, respect, responsibility, and understanding. This experience damaged their name, and we will not forget how poorly we were treated. I will be contacting the Weights and Measures Department as well as the state regarding Cardenas failing to maintain advertised store hours and potentially violating regulations for food markets. read more

I love coming here, the food, the produce, the cakes, the healthy smoothies are on point. There's plenty of parking outside. The only reason for the three stars is the lack of attention when we are paying, there was only one register open, the line was huge, there was no manager, and the only cashier that was available, left to do a price check at the meat department. The self checkouts were full and no one stepped up to help. We were waiting for close to 15 minutes. This isn't the first time this happens, and it was still pretty early in the day, around 9am. On 9/21/2023, I purchased a birthday cake from the Cardenas bakery at 2:30PM, the birthday cake was for my Father who just retired and turned 64 years old. At approximately 5PM, when my family gathered around to wish my Father happy birthday, we cut the cake and to our surprise, the cake was spoiled. It ruined everything, however, the story doesn't end there. I took the cake back to the Cardenas bakery and was met with horrible customer service by the Supervisor Wendy, she was rude, showed absolutely no empathy and snapped at me while I was talking to her. Wendy, please be advised that I know how to respect my elders and that does not give you the right to be rude to me and disrespectful. Wasn't pleased with customer service at the bakery. I had pre ordered a tres leches cake. The cake was dry as soon as we tasted it no milk in the cake so I called them to let them know I wasn't pleased they asked me to bring in receipt the next morning and cake so that's what I did. I showed up spoke to an older man at the bakery I explained that this cake wasn't done right that we wanted a tres leches and this wasn't it I said look it's dry he went to stick his whole hand into cake questioning me saying look it's wet enough don't you see the milk at the bottom I said look it's dry when we eat it it's dry it has no milk regardless of the milk at the bottom it's a dry cake a tres leches should always be moist not dry this is why I don't get dried cakes there's a reason we order these cakes. He went on to tell me that if I didn't want it he understood but that I should see that that cake was drowning in the milks . He said he would give me my money back if that's what I wanted I said yes plz. He asked another employee to give me my money back. Well he takes the cake grabs the Spider-Man toy they add onto the cake and he cleans it up and puts it away in the back to REUSE!!! Grabs the cake again walks to the fridge to put in the fridge! I am disgusted by this! I wouldn't be surprised if they reuse that same cake take the icing off and put it back on sell for the small containers of free leches cakes they sell! Beware! I was just at Cardenas after waiting in line nearly 25 minutes to be charged. Mind you there are many cashier stations that were closed and only 4 stations were open. There was not one single cashier open for 15 items or less and most people were carrying 1/5 of the store in their carts. Although extremely exaggerated, the store should insure at least one of these fast lanes are open at all times. In addition, as I got closer to being my turn my attention turned to the cashier's ranting about how long his lane was getting instead of speeding his work. His choice of language was also unprofessional cursing left and right and conversing with another worker doing the bagging. Not cool at all! read more

I've been to other markets with this name but this Cardenas is my favorite by far. All the staff is friendly nice and helpful. Tylor is my favorite checker. He speaks English and Spanish very well and always has an extra friendly demeanor. He takes pride in the store and his job. The store is clean and well organized. Recently last month I went to go return bad packaged chorizo they couldn't return it because I didn't have ALL the meat.??? Why would I want such a smelly and horrible stench in my car??? I called the corporate office no answer I'm still waiting for a call back.. I went again today. To my mistake to buy packaged pork.. I was in a rush and it was the store that was near me. The top of the meat looked fine so I took it. I came home I opened it and omg it smelled horrible and it looked horrible. I wasn't going to make the same mistake twice so I took all the meat back. She said the meat was fine and started giving me attitude. I said meat isn't suppose to smell this bad and she Replied it's MEAT ITS going to SMELL. I was in shock. She then proceed to give me a piece of meat from the stands and I said does this look like the meat I just handed you. She said yes. I then told her to give me a piece of meat I had just returned her and I said really. She then said to smell them. You could right away notice the difference. I asked her So your telling me they smell the same and that meat is suppose to smell she said yes. She then gave me attitude and said what do you want then. With an attitude said check if that's the way you want the meat. I said yes please. She was helping another lady before me and went to her and said "she's crazy saying the meat is bad she doesn't know what she's saying" I then told her are you serious right now are you talking about me to another customer. She denied it and said no even though the customer she was taking too said yes. I was obviously angry and the manager was in a rush to get me out of there because she knew her employee messed up. I then told her let me pay for the difference because they gave me more meat than I originally bought and she said no it's on us. They knew the meat smelled bad because when the manager sniffed it she made a face. I see in the reviews I'm not the only one concerned. This is a huge health hazard. This market is full of "profanity-filled Mexican music". A lot of customers who bring their children into the store have to listen to their horrible obscene language, verses, and choruses, in the background. Makes me feel very uncomfortable and that is why I will never shop there EVER again! I refuse to subject myself to this horrible music. To Cardenas employees, it's "normal" because they are used to listen to this on a daily basis, and have to lower their standards (that's if they have any high moral values) because they make a living there. To me, foul language is zero tolerance. I came to get a simple drink today at around 7pm parched. As I was waiting in line the associate handling the self checkout called out for the next customer in line who was planning to pay with card as the newly available self checkout register was card only. The customers in front of me refused the offer as they were paying in cash. Noticing this I walked ahead leaving my spot in line behind as I was planning to pay with card. Upon approaching the front of the line I was met with attitude and accusations of cutting the line and being told to wait in the line once more. This place is awesome! They have some of the widest selection of pan dulce youll ever see. It's more like a pan dulce library. They have pretty much everything any Hispanic would want in a grocery store, from the weird little sladitos candies to freshly homemade YELLOW corn totillas(very hard to find). As far as the restaurant, oh man, some of the best of everything iv ever had! Iv tasted their chicken asado, carnitas, and the chichron, let me tell you, they are ALL top notch!!!!
