Okay, I want to make it clear that I am not her to frivolously review a neighborhood restaurant…read more Small businesses are the backbone of our country, specially important and black, woman and minority owned. So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

She never mentioned there was a charge, didn't ask how many we wanted, and simply brought out two orders. Since she offered it and never explained it was an extra charge, we naturally assumed it was complimentary for the birthday celebration. Things only went downhill from there. The rest of our group was given a hard time at the front because they didn't know the exact name the reservation was under. We were also given grief for placing birthday presents on a chair at the end of the table, a chair the staff had placed there. We were told the chair was interfering with the wait staff, even though it wasn't blocking any walkways. It seemed like every interaction came with unnecessary attitude. Once we were all seated, our waitress seemed to have a chip on her shoulder from the start. She never brought out our ranch-style bread, rarely refilled our drinks, and repeatedly reached across the table, passing plates directly in front of people's faces instead of simply walking around to serve them properly. When our dinners arrived, our empty salad and appetizer plates were still sitting on the table. We had to ask her to clear them just so we had room for our meals. If we needed anything, we had to catch her as she hurried past our table because she never stopped to check on us. She would keep walking while we tried to ask for what we needed, so we had to quickly rattle everything off before she disappeared. To top it off, she was openly talking about our table to the guests seated behind us. It was completely unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable. The level of service was disappointing from beginning to end. When my bill came, the total didn't add up correctly. I politely pointed out the discrepancy, but instead of checking it, she came back with the menu to prove I was wrong. Ironically, the menu proved she was the one who made the mistake. She even tried telling me I was comparing the menu price to a receipt total that included tax. I had to explain that the tax was calculated separately at the bottom of the receipt. Rather than apologize, she walked away and sent the manager over. Thankfully, the manager immediately recognized the error and corrected my bill. By that point, my family had enough and just wanted to pay and leave. To make matters worse, they were told they couldn't pay until everyone at the table had received their bill. The food didn't make up for the service, either. It was hot and humid inside the restaurant, the burger was as tough as a hockey puck, they were out of beef ribs so we settled for pork ribs that were mostly fat, and the steak lacked any flavor. To top it off, the restrooms had a strong urine smell, which only added to the overall poor experience. The only highlights of the evening were the company we were with and the Costco birthday cake we brought ourselves. I had read the recent reviews before coming and hoped people were exaggerating. They weren't!!! I wanted to give this place another chance because of the great memories we had at the one in Colton, but sadly, those memories are all that's left. If you're thinking about making the drive because of nostalgia like we did, I'd recommend reading the recent reviews first. I wish we had listened. We won't be returning. Thanks for a horrible birthday experience, Sundance & staff!

This Crumbl is located in the same plaza as Target, Jimmy John's and Five Below…read more Last month, I decided to make an online order because I wanted to their Crumbl's take on the Dubai Chocolate. They had a Dubai chocolate brownie that I wanted to try (yes I have tried so many Dubai chocolate desserts over the past year and have also was lucky to try the real thing when a coworker had brought some back for everyone to try when she visited Dubai last year). I didn't realize that you can order a mini version of the cookies features, and discovered that when I ordered online. So I ended up getting a mini box of 6. I chose the following: Dubai Chocolate Brownie- I paid an extra $1.49 (each, prior to tax) to order this. This was a let down for me. I thought it was too sweet and really didn't taste as good as I had hoped. There wasn't enough kataifi, which is roasted (phyllo dough). I think this would have worked better with dark chocolate to better match and compliment the sweetness from the pistachio filling. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie- Of the desserts that I picked, this was my favorite. I ended up ordering 2 of these and would have preferred a whole box of them. The pumpkin goes well with the chocolate chips and am glad this wasn't nearly as sweet as the other cookies I picked. Peanut Butter Munch Cookie- Wasn't a fan of this. Thought it was too sweet and felt like the cookie was not baked all the way. Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie- I want to be honest and say that I have never been a fan of Crumbl but they do make good soft bake chocolate chip cookies. And they are best warm. ------------------------------------ (Total= $20.47 after tax + additional cost for Dubai chocolate brownies) Service was friendly when I arrived in store. I was greeted by an employee as soon as I walked in. Since this was in the afternoon on a week day, a little after 2 pm, there was no one. An employee helped me right away and told me that he was going to get my box ready. There is an option to have your purchase delivered to your car but I just decided to come in since it was a very hot day on that day I came (it was a higher around 98- 100*F that day). Although I did not like some of the items that I purchased, the service was still friendly and also it was very easy to make an order online. Overall, my experience with this location was pleasant.

Skeptical on pricing? CBS carries only prime and upper choice beef. When you go to a big supermarket you are actually getting select which is 2 to 3 grades less in quality and value. Compared to any other market that carries prime, most run about 6 - $10 more per lb.!!!! It's as reasonably priced and competitive as it can be!!!! It's a well known fact, that if you want quality, you're going to have to spend a couple extra dollars. For example. you're not going to go to a Cadillac dealership and expect to buy a brand new CTS or Escalade for the price of a Ford Focus. It's the exact same logic here. I heart The Corner Butcher. Every friday the have a special for $1!!! Today was Butcher boy burger which the grind and form in house. Last week was there amazing hot dogs and hot wings. This really is the best way to start the weekend. They also carry a variety of specialty meats and sausages. I have my heart set on making buffalo burgers! They have a great selection of wine and micro brews, as well as specialty sodas. They cater and make deli sandwiches. There aren't many family owned butchers left and I am so happy to have one in my home town! They have a special almost everyday and they are all posted on there website. We just had the best steak dinner at home. We've been shopping at the Corner Butcher Shop for many years. The guys are always friendly and welcoming, great customer service! Today we bought, filet mignon, pre-marinated tri-tip with a butchers blend seasoning, jalapeño cheese sausage, Texas hot sausage, double baked potatoes, and bacon wrapped asparagus. The only thing I had to do was add a little salt and pepper to the fillet, and cook. Everything was perfectly seasoned. I felt like I had dinner at a five-star steakhouse. I've passed by this place for a few years now and never tried it.. A few girlfriends claimed they had the best grass fed rib eye ( which turned out to be true) omg mouthwatering.. However I ordered a Shelton's turkey for thanksgiving a few months back it was upwards of $100 .. When I arrived a few days later the turkey they gave me was not a Shelton's .. And the owner can be a little rude almost like he's trying to intimidate you... Nonetheless I had so much to do that I didn't want to hassle with it and the turkey was good anyways, either way I think I can lol past this the food is delicious! read more

If you have not bought meat at a butcher.....you must! The butcher selects the meat; the quality is assured. You want a particular cut of steak, give em a call. And, the sausage, marinated chicken breasts, the pork.....all unbelievable. And, if you have a non-meat person, they often have Impossible Burger (it sells quickly) Frank and the team can give you recommendations how to prepare the food as well. Give it a go! read more

The smoked chicken salad that you can buy to take home or on a picnic, the smoke turkey bacon or smoked jerk turkey and bacon sandwiches are excellent. The best and most flavorful meats and meals. Everything is fresh and they have their own smoker. Makes everything delicious. They'll even cook it there for you, and you can take it to go, or eat there. They also have wines and craft beers to go great with anything you order. Came in for father's day. Menu was not very big. I was in the mood for ribs, they only had burgers, dogs, and pulled pork. We stayed to try it out. The pulled pork was very good. Great options for sides and some interesting drink choices. Prices for high quality butchered meat is pretty good. Higher than a grocery store but the quality is probably a lot better. And then I just mix them up for the last five to eight bites. It's heavenly, combining the best parts of the breakfast into a mash that is more delicious than its individual components. I call it the Grand Finale. And I've done it all across the country in dozens of cities in hundreds of restaurants for decades now. But it takes really good runny and sunny eggs that haven't been overdone or else the ten to twenty minutes of eating everything before the Grand Finale is just going to leave the eggs hard and unusable. It also takes some good meat that not only will be flavorful on their own but also blend well with the mush. And lastly, it takes a good set of hash browns that isn't overly crispy or overly mushy. Roberta's Village Inn has all of that and more. That was one of the best Grand Finales I've had in years. Usually I don't do it with gravy because the country gravy tends to overpower everything else. But the country-fried steak with gravy didn't do that at all. It blended right in with all the other tastes. So too did the eggs remain remarkably running, all the better to be mixed at the end. And, of course, the thin-cut hash browns was plentiful, seasoned (by me), and, mostly importantly, crispy enough on top and bottom, while remaining soft (but not mushy) within. It was the Perfect Storm of a Grand Finale. The service was great. My server took extra care of me, even when I made the mistake of not noticing the food joint was cash only. I took it all in stride. She not only checked on my just frequent enough but was extra helpful in getting me refills, to-go containers, and the check when it was appropriate. The mood and style of the place was classic diner and I dug it. All ever want is a place to chill in with good food, that isn't overly pressured to kick you out for turnover sake. I was about to say it's kind of a small dining room, but when I went to the ATM I saw they have a whole other dining room that must be for when the place starts jumping for the breakfast rush. I'm assuming that's their busiest time judging by how memorable my breakfast plate was tonight. Overall, I already want to come back during breakfast hours and witness the majesty and awesomeness of this food joint when it's fully operation. I'm betting that's really going to be something to see.
