I would give 0 stars if I could. It seems like only this location has this, where their cashiers seem to lack common sense. During my visit your cashier Olga B. denied me from purchasing 2 packs of the 3 Coors 24oz cans. Just because I had my little sister with me. First of all, that feels like quite accusation to think I'd buy any alcohol for a minor, when they're in the store with me. What sense does that make? There was no reason to ask for her age when she had nothing to do with the transaction. Did she try to grab them? No. Did she try to pay? No. So, why does she feel the need to involve my sister. When I was the one to provide my ID and pay with my Debit Card. You think she could put two and two together but I guess not. Only good things here was their meat department where the staff was kind. We had three orders and he took his sweet time with each one, that by the time we got to eat one was cold. When l asked for him to keep it under the warmer he said that rhat didn't make a difference.they ask if you want sauce and then dont put any on it. Very poor customer service. I remember having to come back on a Thursday because on Wednesday afternoon the guy that makes the cake was not there and nobody else was able to take a simple order. I come here every Wednesday/Thursday for their $5.99 8-piece chicken, tortilla, and salsa combo. Trust me when I say the chicken tastes better than El Pollo Loco and is also way cheaper. The cashier Melissa is a little cutie with her eyebrows and eyelashes always on fleek. The restrooms are super clean and good to go. They have the space age soda machine (albeit miniaturized) that's available at movie theaters and have all of the fantastic flavors we all know and love. I drive 11 miles to always go to this Cardenas and it's always worth the trip. Now, if only they could get rid of asshat bad drivers in the parking lot. read more

I went to the restaurant inside here and was disappointed in the service. Your cashier at the restaurant is really RUDE. Her name is Melissa and she wears 10 pounds of cake make up on her face and thinks she's better than everyone. I'm not Mexican and don't speak Spanish but I love Mexican food so I decided to come and order a chile Verde plate a and a burrito. I didn't role my R's and sounded completely white when I ordered the food. She rudely said "oh you mean, CHILE VERDE?" while rolling her R's and saying it correctly. She seemed extremely impatient and kept saying "is that it ?" After each thing I ordered she did not smile at all and wasn't friendly. I saw her roll her eyes a few times while waiting for my food. I also asked the guy to put cheese on my burrito. I didn't realize it cost extra but he said he would put cheese for free anyways. Melissa seemed to get Mad that he gave it to me for free and she gave me a dirty look. I thought that was uncalled for... I think they should hire a cashier with way less attitude. I don't care if she sees this, maybe It'll put her in her place to have respect. Wearing a cake face doesn't make you better than everyone. so disappointed in their hot food we bought for our new year's dinner at home. the pork tamales tasted like they were made of slim jim meat and the menudo gave us diarrhea from being soooooooooo spicy! we usually love cardenas food but wow what a disappointment!! will not be purchasing from them ever again. cashier kelly was also not helpful when we asked questions about sizes of containers for the soup, very unprepared and did not go the extra mile to find out the answer to a simple question. sad! read more

Awful experience today after coming in many times here, but today I encountered bad service. After I took the time and effort to peel off my tomatillos and trashed the outside of it. I was getting charged the amount that would be for the peeled ones. I don't see why can't you check the vegetables your buying to see if they are good and not rotten. Another thing is I don't like to be called a lier, so I went ahead to the trash can where I through away the bag with trash and brought it up to them and I told them check the cameras and you will see I was taking my time to peel them. I gave one star for the girl who answered my questions in the bakery. My husband and I stopped by here today on our way home, thought we would save time. Picked up a few things and asked a few questions in the bakery. The young lady in the bakery was awesome! Then went to the deli section, decided what we wanted, watched other people order and p/u some things. Watched the employees visiting with each other. Continued to stand there waiting, the last employee just walked off. No one ever offered to help us. My husband said he was just "invisible". I agreed. Their prepared food is wonderful, fresh tamales are some of the best I've ever tasted. I like shopping here over the staters up the street. Always get fresh produce and yummy meats. The mango ceviche is soooo tasty and I can't leave without buying at least three tamales OMG delicious.
