Called to make a televisit appointment with Dr. Chen and was told by scheduling that I needed an "order" to make the appointment. Transferred to a "manager" and they were able to make the appointment for me. Clarity on underlying issues were not very clear hence the follow-up appointment. After having a cardiac ablation 6 weeks ago with limited to no follow up from the physician, Dr. Tushina Jain, I had a scheduled follow up for April 30th that was scheduled at the procedure. My hopes were to review medications and get clarity on my condition. I received no less that 6 confirmations by phone, email, and text. I took time form work and went to the office, arrived 15 minutes early to respect the physicians time. The only problem is she wasnt there, had no plans to be there that day, and I was offered the opportunity to reschedule 3 weeks out in a different office and take another day off work. I called the central scheduling this third time for appointment with Dr. Odar. I had to wait at least 30 minutes before my call was answered. All the while I hear this recording that If I want a call back I should leave my phone number. I left a call number the first and second time but nobody called back after 48 hours. They try and bill you for more money when you are not advised. I had come in and paid my insurance deductable as required when I arrived. When I was done, they suggested another test which they said would be covered by insurance. I had to wait another 60 minutes. They didn't advise that this required another co pay. I was billed another $65 months later which I refuse to pay. They could have advised while I waited that 60 minutes, of which I would have said no, not interested and left. It wasn't a necessary procedure. They were just bilking money. Now they lost a client. read more

Be forewarned that the date/time of your original appointment will not be the actual date/time of your actual appointment. It is not there aren't any number of legitimate reasons this might happen BUT my annoyance is that no one -- human or machine -- even gives you the simple professional courtesy of asking you before or calling you after the change is a done deal. Ok, maybe it's not a specific individual but some combination of policies, procedures, practices, and personnel but it still is subpar especially for an organization that has any number of skills medical personnel. So be forewarned, whatever date and time is of your original appointment, based on my first hand experience, you have a more than even chance it will be changed. Worst Dr experience ever. 1. Making an appointment or changing one requires calling to a service that doesn't answer the phone or return calls. I had to go to the office and change in person. 2. No use of technology for admissions. It is like 1970 filling out pages of information filling in the same info a dozen times. 3. The exam room had stained ceiling tiles and they had a scale and BP monitor from the 1970s. 4. Doctor kept me waiting for 40 minutes for an early morning appointment and when confronted with this lack of consideration tried to make it like it was my fault. I have been attempting to schedule an appointment for a couple weeks with the callback feature. Totally worthless system - don't waste your time. Finally got a hold of someone at the Gaithersburg location to schedule an appointment. the front desk person didn't seem like she wanted to help me at all. She cut me off while I was talking. Had an attitude and seemed completely disinterested. Came off as rude although she didn't say anything to me directly rude. I was so angry when I got off the phone with her. She raised my blood pressure for sure. Probably not something you want to do for heart patients... I haven't even been to see a doctor yet but I'm dreading it after my terrible scheduling experience. My husband and I have been patients at this office for about 30 years. Generally good service. Want to commend a few members of their staff. Maureen and Dave (assistants to Dr. Griffen) are helpful and responsive. A big thanks to Cindy who watches diligently on my husband's wafarin levels and calls as soon as his lab results are ready, to give instructions regarding adjustments. If the lab does not give her the results, she gets in touch with them and gets the results herself. Just this morning, I needed to have my husband's medical records sent to another cardiologist for review. I expected to be told that the process would take several days. A lovely staff member, Gina (at Medical Records) took my call. She got the necessary info, sent it over as I requested, then called me to say that the task was done. This...on a Monday morning, holiday week, pandemic still on...excellent service. Thank you, Gina. Front desk staff: could use improvement. At least smile! I had an 11 am appointment at cardiac associates. After a 30 minute wait and seeing 4 patients enter after me and being taken within 2 minutes of their arrival, I approached the front desk. When I enquired as to the delay I was told "I only pass your chart on. They'll call you when they're ready. " After another 10 minutes and another patient walking in and being called directly, back I again approached the desk and told the receptionist I was leaving. No problem. Nobody cared. I have been a patient of dr Goldberg for at least 5 years and have never been dismissed and treated like that in my life. This is a review for Thomas Odar, MD. When my husband was admitted to Shady Grove Adventist (September 2017), Odar was the attending physician there. From what little we knew about my husband's condition, we were told it was "congestive heart failure". Since admission, he had a series of tests done, namely "echo" and some EKGs. Odar, the attending physician, comes in to our room and says "sorry... your husband's heart is near-terminal... you need a heart transplant immediately... sorry I don't have any good news." He lacked bedside manner and walked-out with no direction where to proceed. I'm sure Odar is a decent physician, but his management needs to understand some folks would have lost all hope upon hearing this diagnosis. Oh and BTW it was a wrong diagnosis. Edit: 1) We shared our experience with Odar to our Family Physician and Pediatrician. Our Family Physician actually said that Odar doesn't have the best-rep within his circle, while our Pediatrician has never heard of him. 2) We got multiple cardiologist opinions after Odar. They all said a) a heart transplant is definitely not necessary and to discard the forms Odar gave, and b) You should never diagnose a heart transplant with just having done one echo. read more

Dr Sam Goldberg is professional and a very good doctor. He is the ONLY reason I endure the BS that is the office staff. They are unprofessional, don't care a bit about you, they're rude, send you to different offices and don't communicate. Just awful. Even the doctor agrees. read more

Today I was scheduled for a new patient appointment @ 1:30 pm in Germantown Location, I was called back to the room at 1:40 to be seen by the Doctor, I sat there for 2 hours and no one came in to check on me or to tell me what was going on with the Dr. if he was running late or he was on procedure or with another patient, I had to go to the front desk to ask why I was sitting there for 2 hours and to see if I was going to see the Dr. anytime soon, the front desk lady "Jasmine" (dont know if that is her real name) gave me a nasty attitude, was rude, her answer was short and she was not explained why I was waiting for 2 hours. The other front desk was going to check on the Dr. and she was supposed to get back to the room to let me know what was going, unfortunately that never happened,. I ended up leaving my appointment, and the front desk as I was leaving they just said "oh Well" I walk out. DO NOT RECOMMED THIS OFFICE!!! read more

Wonderful doctors, wonderful nurses, in general, terrible support staff. My bills are often inaccurate, making an appointment is often difficult and frustrating. Not all, but many staffers seem uninterested in your call or questions. Be prepared for some frustration although there are some great doctors here. read more

If I could rate this office with a negative, I would. The front desk staff, Goldberg's nurses and everyone we have spoken to in this location is BEYOND rude. We have had issue after issue with them and after being a patient of Dr. Goldberg's for over a year, we are DONE! They are impossible to get a hold of on the phone and if they don't like what you're asking for (ex/ a blood test being ordered at Labcorp) they will just hang up on you. Then you have to get filtered through their ridiculously long voicemail, only to get hung up on again once you finally get through. Yesterday was the last straw. We had an appointment first thing in the morning (7:15am) and the office decided they wouldn't open yesterday (snow in the forecast in the afternoon) and they DIDN'T CALL THEIR APPOINTMENTS until after 10am! So we waited with a bunch of other folks, at their germantown location, from 7 am -8am, wondering what was going on! And of course their answering service knew nothing. They need to hire some staff that actually care about their patients and that don't ALWAYS act as if they are way tooooo busy to help you or even answer the phone. Do not go to this practice. I called multiple times to schedule an appointment. I waited on hold multiple times in excess of 20 minutes. I was bumped to voicemail after being on hold, without speaking to anyone. I left multiple voicemails. I emailed them. I received a call back, finally, a day later, and scheduled an appointment. I asked what I needed to do or bring with me to the appointment and she said "I don't know." I received another call back 2 days later saying "I'm calling you to schedule an appointment". I already have one. I showed up at the appointment time and was told "we don't have you scheduled for an appointment." (I took off work for this.) In looking at the schedule they told me "we had you scheduled two days ago at 2pm". I am 100% sure that was not when I scheduled it for because I was out of the state for a business meeting that I'd scheduled a month prior. They were not able to see me so they rescheduled me for next week. Their appointment process is abysmal. The thing is, I've worked with them before. But this was so painful I am now looking for a new practice to switch to. read more

Dr Chen is the best cardiologist in the area. I've been going to him for ten years and he kept me and my baby healthy when I was pregnant. The comments about office staff rudeness used to be true but they've changed and things have gotten much better. I highly recommend this place. read more

Myself , my whole family and extended family are Dr. Thomas Odar of cardiac associates Germantown Maryland office patients since last about 6-8 years, I am not planning to change him for another cardialogist (changed 2 cardiologists before) and this feedback is long over due. Dr. Odar beside his excellent medical and legal knowledge (has law degree) is a very professional, polite, friendly, concerned, helpful , accommodating and has excellent bed side manners. I always feel special when I visit his office .staff and his nurses specially Sarah are very professional , know there job and are very cooperative, waiting time is very minimal comparing to other doctors I read some negative comments about the staff and the doctors which I respectfully disagree with and recommend Cardiac associates and specially Doctor Thomas Odar to all my friends, relatives and everybody else .Your health will be in good hands. I went to dr odar for 3 month checkup today 2/5/2019, I like this dr and he is great but the staff that's another story. the girl at the front desk gave me my bill the 1st I had seen and said if you could start paying on it fine. when I came out of the exam room was going to the desk to make my next apt and pay on the bill I noticed this little twirp of a woman on the other side of desk staring at me. then she said are ms carter and I said yes next thing I knew she was standing next to me so close I couldn't gather the medicine or papers. then she said come with and took me in this little so called room and said she was billing and could I make arrangements to start paying on the bill hell I just got it. good thing I am not a serious heart patient but a heart patient. I said I was going to pay something on it but no one gave me a chance, they acted like I was a convict ready to run. I am pissed at the way they do things and I have heard them talking about patients behind their back. I don't think the drs know whats going on with the staff, the same for Rockville except with billing down there they had my daughter go to the waiting room with patients discussing her bill and payments. not good. Dr. Goldberg and staff are doing their jobs. The only concern I have is having to adjusting my statin, as the statins hurt my muscles. It took over a year to adjust to a statin that does not hurt me Livalo 2 mg. seems to be doing the trick. But I still need blood results to see if my LDL levels go down from a whooping 357/time of heart attack, now a year later 290's. Won't know until I take another blood test, but ran out of free samples. I am seeing the doc tomorrow to get more samples and let him know this dose of med does not hurt me. read more

They should allow negative stars. The office staff deserve it. Had one apt then just day before they rescheduled it. The went in on the rescheduled date and they said it was for the following week. Incompetent would be a polite word to use for the office staff. Cannot rate the doctors since I never saw one. Never plan to use them again. Avoid at all costs it will just make any cardiac problems you have get worse. If management here does not see this that may speak to the attitude of the physicians practicing here as well. read more

Poorest customer service and lack of understanding. I made an appointment 3 days prior to have my Stress Echo test done. Even the physician made special arrangements to have it done on the given day. 15 minutes before my appointment time they have a lame excuse that your procedure needs to have a preauthorization needs to be rescheduled. Called my insurance and they have no record of any preauthorization submitted. I called back this germantown office and stated we have another company that deals with preauthorization. With all that staffing this office has they can't call in for a pre authorization. Then to make it worse 2 days have passed and now I'm getting the phone call and when I accused them of letting it laps and they dropped the ball and they admitted without any guilt in this voice. The Doctor in Cardiac Associates are efficient and proactive but replace your ancillary staff their efficiency is not there having another company do the preauthorization how hard is to call an insurance company they're open at least till 9 pm way past your closing time. Just like the other reviewer they need to hire staff that actually care and competent. The doctors made the washintonian best doctors but the magazine should rate the best offices. Overall don't go here save your money the inconveninece they cause will cause you time and money. read more
