But for the "Lifestyle" form of practice you are going to have to pay an extra 900-1200$ a year to even see this doctor (This is not covered by insurance-it is a membership fee so now medical care has come down to paying for a gym membership)...so instead of 15 minutes with your doctor you get a whole hour... This is where medicine is going which is sad. It is all about the almighty dollar-pharmaceutical companies and now doctors. So I have no issue there; they're good doctors as far as i know. My issue is how their front office staff is snippy, and how you have to call them and stay on them to get basic information. As the cliche goes, you have to be your own health care advocate, but I had an experience of being treated nastily for being my own health care advocate. I called and found out that an appointment for some complicated procedure had been scheduled for me, without my knowledge, and when I started asking questions, the receptionist hung up on me. I experienced that as disrespectful of someone who has a life-threatening health problem (atrial fibrillation), and was simply trying to get information about their own care. That was one of the moments when you know that as a patient, you're a piece of meat being processed at the meat-processing facility.

After my test was completed, he told me how impressed he was with my results. Of course, the competition is 25-30 years older, but I'll take whatever compliments I can get. If my insurance company let me, I think I would continue to visit Dr. Broudy even if I didn't have a stupid arrhythmia to manage. He's very entertaining. A few visits ago, he was looking through my chart, and asked if I was related to a physician from another state who shares the same last name as me. After telling him we were not related, Dr. Broudy goes on to tell me the story of how the physician was attacked and killed by an alligator. See, entertaining, right?
