First there is a male stylist who thinks it's ok and funny to make fun of a client because there hard of hearing. Second I was over charged for color and hilights because I have thick hair. Wasn't informed of this extra charge until after my hair was finished. Third there is a stylist with a British accent who talks about every client. She tells the next client all about the previous one. A lot of gossip and dirty secrets. Then she starts slandering someone's application that was left at the front. Not a good experience. She was detailed with how to get my hair where I want and I got exactly what I was asking for! She kept the intergrity of my hair in mind and it's looks so healthy even with hightlights! Well I can officially say this is my first haircut on the mountain. I'm very loyal and have had the same barber for over twenty years down the hill. While I don't have a ton of hair, my hair is thin and can be challenging for some. Candace (hope I spelled her name right) just gave me my best haircut. I came on on Thur. to see if they could fit me in before my daughter's wedding a week away. Not only did Cindy fit me in, she did what I requested. More importantly, I felt she went the extra mile. I really felt Cindy wanted me to leave happy, she listened and it seemed it was her goal to please. She took me outside before and after to look at my hair in the sunlight. Unfortunately this review starts with rumors and as the time came closer to my appointments these salons merged and everything went down hill from there. I booked my wedding at Skypark not too far from arrowhead village where rumors salon was located. I went in spoke with the ladies and scheduled a run through. Everything went great and as I was leaving the run through the ladies told me I would be getting a call in about a week to settle the details for the final day. They had the number of ladies and a rough idea of what I wanted on each one. Unfortunately, this is where everything began to fall apart. The phone call to fix details never came. I got a phone call about 3 weeks later with a woman telling me that they were merging salons and therefore closing the location so my appointments would either have to move to their new salon or be done on location. I asked for an email with contract and quote. Got the email and asked to make a few changes based on some last minute change to the party. Never got an updated contract and could not get ahold of the woman I had been speaking with. I called the salon asking for her and the women had no idea who she was. They asked me "is that someone who works here or is she a client?" Finally was able to get ahold of her cell number and she said she would get back to me as soon as she could. When it was coming down to 3 weeks before my wedding I started seeking out other salons in the area. I was able to make other arrangements at the Parlour Room (great salon!) and proceeded to cancel my appointment with rumors at Cardinale. To which I never even received a response to that email. Half expected them to show up and expect to do my hair that day. I really hope this was just because of the chaos of the merge and this salon can get these issues worked out to make sure this doesn't happen to any other brides. read more

Super stoked and a little surprised I found this place in Lake Arrowhead and don't have to go down the hill for a good quality and reasonably priced haircut. I can schedule an appointment 1-2 days in advance or less, which is standard for a good salon or barber shop. I've been here twice and its really nice, decorated really cool. My favorite part: the neck rests on the sinks are super comfortable (5 stars for the sinks!!!)! Both women I saw were good, but not great enough to return to. I have heard great things about Chris, but I always end up going in last minute and can't get an appointment with him! I gave it 3 stars because the vibe in here felt a bit tense and gossipy. The receptionist was giggling, at one point I saw one stylist lean over and whisper to someone for a long time, and just in general I felt a bit uncomfortable! Other than that, they carry KMS which is an awesome product and they have an excellent retail selection! read more

I am a creature of habit when it comes to my hair. I don't change my cut often and have gone to the same salon for 10 years. But I just moved and needed my hair done. Chris, the salon owner, is young, hip and very knowledgeable about cuts and color. While I said I would get a trim he gently suggested I look through a few hair books just to see if there was anything I liked. Long story short, Chris gave me a new look, the best I ever had, and it was exactly what he said he would do. I'm so happy I found him. I went there today with lowered expectations. I spent last 14 years in OC, the only place I lived in this country, so being new to the mountains and not knowing what to expect, I was cautious choosing one of 3 places to go to that don't involve driving an hour down the mountain. I picked them because of the yelp reviews. And I will be coming back every 6 weeks for as long as I live here! Cindy was great! She picked my color perfectly, and hair cut as well. My ONLY bitch is that it can be very difficult to get an appointment with Christopher Cardinale. He is booked well in advance, seriously. I had heard it was worth the wait and, frankly I a, m not a patient person but I am really glad I waited. I am now, OFFICIALLY, sexy! Love my hair, the color, the body. Love it! I wanted to go a little crazy with the color but he chose a more toned down, classier color. I love it. He also did a brazilian blow out which I wasn't sure of but I thought I would try it. It isn't exactly what I had in mind, I admit. I do have to say, I think my hair is better with THIS than what I actually thought I was getting. Christopher, of course is really professional. There was another cray cray customer there (I won't go into details) and the staff was really professional. I do advise, get your appointment as early as possible. It can take forever to get in, like for me, almost a month out. I love my hair though! I can't eat carbs with THIS hair! (gasp!) read more

I've taken some time to write this review, the last time I was at Cardinale was in September 2017. Just a month before my wedding I went in to get bayalage and a cut. I've been to Cardinale (Susan was the one working on my hair) a few times and I was okay with the previous styles because I was gradually changing my hair- that's why I'm giving this rating a 2 Star review. Well the last time I went in Susan destroyed my hair (my hair was healthy and shiny before this last dye) after 4-5 hours of her bleaching my hair and not properly caring for it I came out with straw like hair ... I was so sad to see my hair this way, on top of this Susan cut my hair too short, but the shortness of my hair isn't an issue my hair can always grow back. *********UPDATE*********** I've recently changed my review on Cardinale salon based on their professionalism and willing to send back an amount requested by me for the services rendered. Even though I didn't have the best experience this one time, this shouldn't speak for the other service I've received before (which susan did an amazing job on along with my cut) as well as their willing to work with me to be sure that I am satisfied . In the past, Ive had really bad experiences with hair salons where my thick hair has been incorrectly cut so naturally I was skeptical of coming in. When I first walked in, I didnt realize I was standing in front of the salon. The decor was vintage & had accents of regality which made the atmosphere for the wait pass by quicker. You get to notice the little details. Now, to the cut, I was blown away by Terri's experience with cutting thick asian hair. I scheduled a color and a cut. My hair was bleached blonde & felt like rough hay & looked like it had been through the gutter. I left the salon with silky, soft , light hair & a boost of confidence. Terri was very gentle with my hair & knew how to layer it so I kept my volume while shaping my face. They also offer hair products free of sulfates which are environmentally friendly & vegan! I will definitely be coming back again, its rare to find a hair dresser that knows how to cut my type of hair. read more

I've lived in Arrowhead for 6 months and had not even tried to find a hair stylist. I had the same hairdresser for 14 years in Manhattan Beach. Changing hair stylists is more difficult than just about anything else. When I started cutting my own hair and totally f@&king it up, I knew it was time. I called a salon in Arrowhead that referred me to Cardinales in Cedar Glen. I was able to get an appointment with Susan later that day. It's a cute, clean salon with some nice people. Susan was AWESOME. She spent a lot of time talking to me about my hair wants and needs. She made me adorable! She knows how to cut curly hair. She showed me how to style it too. Caidie Raymond has been doing my hair for a while now. When she made Cardinale's her new home, I moved right with her. I have never waited for an appointment when I arrive, Caidie is always on time and that is a very important thing for me. I hate showing up and waiting around after my appointment time. She performs excellent coloring and my hair is the healthiest it has been in many years. The receptionist are always pleasant and the salon is warm and welcoming.
