After my very carefully worded and honest review yesterday which I STAND FIRM on, I went back to trade in a few cards with the hopes Shannon wouldn't be there or they all as a team wouldn't have saw my review and treated me like shit like she does every time. Well; I was wrong. They all saw it and completely ghosted me. I definitely still got what I went there for but it is very clear their loyalty to Shannon is greater than customer service, $, or anything in life. I respect that. Treat people like crap knowing you are untouchable....im glad I know now. I leave 5 stars for loyalty. I'll never be back. I know they don't care, not like anything will happen. Went to the store for years. Invested in graded comics the owner recommended for long term hold. Time came for me to liquidate and I gave them first offer he didn't even want 1/3 of what he sold me back. Disappointed since I considered the business a lcs I would vouch for and support always. read more

This shop is what you'd expect to see at any comic book store with a heavy dedication to Funko Pops (about half the store consisting of Funko). Occasionally they will have a hidden gem you're missing for your collection, a signed exclusive or something rare. Prior to covid they occasionally held card game tournaments and having attended a few (Pokemon) it's always been fun. The other half of the store is dominant with comics from trades to single issues. They offer most publishers and sell a variety of items from d&d miniatures, card sleeves, posters, and the like. Most of the employees I've encountered are normally very cool, polite and informed. Nothing like a trip to Conroe to remind you that Houston is a huge city! Ventured north on a Saturday morning for the sole purpose of checking this store out. I had heard they had a selection of Funko Pops that was not to be believed and I heard correctly! Worth every minute of the 2 hour and 20 minute round trip drive. They offer literally 1000's of Pops. Two large rooms, floor to ceiling full. There were two different price structures for them. The glass case and upper shelves were the more rare pieces. Those prices have to be looked up by an employee. The lower shelves are considered "commons" and those are $10.99 each. I bought a few items and they were all reasonably priced. The store is pretty huge and offered much more than the Funko items. Comic books, books, collectible cards, all manner of figures. Also had tables set up so customers could play games. Met some nice people there, worth the trip. read more

Exactly what you'd expect from a business with this name! I stoped by here recently and had a great time checking out the store and all it has to offer! While visiting I met the owner, Rob who was in at the time and he took the time to help me find everything I was looking for. From cards to comics, to binders and more...he helped me out while still staying alert and available for other customers. The environment of the store was also great (not too flashy, but full of life and character) and had several tables set up with groups playing various card games. This is an updated review in 2022 from my 2017 review ..... absolutely nothing and I mean nothing has changed. Came in looking for some specific type top loaders and the guy just looked at my like an idiot. I'm not a comic guy but I am a sports memorabilia guy and needed some top loaders. This guy and his co worker we're just completely unfriendly and rude. This is definitely my last trip here. It's unfortunate because I truly love supporting local businesses. read more

My kids are new to the Pokémon phenomenon. We have visited this store a few times in the past week, and will continue to come back. There's a young man who wears headphones who has been very nice to my kids, taking time to answer any questions they have had so far. Today and 2 days ago we spoke with another woman, I believe one of the owners. She, as well, was very personable. She took the time to explain the different options they had available for purchase at the time we came. More important to me, she spoke to my son when he had questions, and to me when I did. Some other retailers we have visited only talk to the adult. Additionally, the cards they had were less expensive than we have found elsewhere recently . Big store! Huge selection of Funko Pops. Plenty of Magic Cards and Pokémon Cards. Lots of current comics are all along the wall. There is a small section of back issues but it's mostly recent books. No one greeted me when I visited. Owner was very uninterested in my business. read more

I stopped by while I was in town since I saw this place on Yelp and I'm a huge Pokémon collector. Got no greeting when I walked in, no biggie though. But for some reason people were blocking the glass cases to view the Pokémon cards they had for sale. I was literally swaying back and forth around some dudes legs trying to see. People were either having side conversations with the employee or looking through their binders of other cards for sale. Next time just sit at a table instead of block the merchandise? Other than sketchy service, decent collection of stuff (from what I was able to see at least). Didn't buy anything because no one offered to help or show me any of the cards. Had a bad vibe for me, won't be going back, plenty of other spots that feel a bit more inviting. read more

I will be fair and disclaim that this was years ago, so maybe things at this establishment have changed since then. However, my experience was notably bad, so I still feel obligated to mention it today. Long story short, an owner of the store couldn't find an item that I was interested in, so he assumed that I had stolen it. He refused business to me upon this suspicion. So I simply left. As I was walking back to my car, he ran after me holding said item in his hand exclaiming "I found it! I found it!". I guess he had a change of heart after realizing that I didn't steal anything. I understand the sentiment of not wanting to serve someone who you felt was stealing from you, and I am not at odds with this reasoning. But in the end I refused his offer to go back in to buy said item solely due to the harsh, demeaning and accusatory treatment that I received from him while all of this ensued. read more

Every time I move, the first thing I look for is a Comic Store. Wow was I glad to find Cards & Comics! This is your homey-feel, friendly, helpful, and fully stocked good-old-fashioned comic store like you remember growing up. The owner, Robert is always there, (does he even take a lunch break?) and he's always wiling to find the titles that you need. The staff is knowledgeable and personable and it's just a great place in the community for both young and old to "hang out." If my wallet allowed, I'd be there every week! I can't say enough good things about Rob and his shop. I was buying my comics online before I moved back to Houston area, then I went to bedrock Comics that has a few stores around the Houston area and is a solid chain, but when I came in and talked to Rob I knew I was going to buy from him! Just a nice guy. He gave me a better discount, more than online and 2x the amount I was getting at Bedrock. Plus bags and boards!! You can't get a better deal. Comics can be expensive paying full price. Add the cost of bags and boards, it's crazy. There is also a good selection of Funko POP figures (which I collect) and lots of other collectables and lots of old comics too. He also gives my boys a comic when they come in with me. I promise you'll love your buying experience here. There are also cards, TONS of cards!! Good place to buy comics and especially variant covers. Best selection of cards on the north side of Houston hands down. Prices are decent maybe a lil high for an lgs but I'm cool paying that for a one stop card shop. The reason I took stars off was due to lack of good customer service. They have had 3 to 4 people working when I have gone and the service is at the speed of 1 person working. Other than that I've been quoted or suggested a price to have it drastically change at the register. This has happend repeatidly, which makes it difficult when building out a deck on a budget. Also I went to a prerelease event there and the format and prize support changed after I got there. That made me pretty frustrated since I drove and missed a different tournament to be there. None of this has been due to the fact of them being busy. I've been there when it's packed and when there was only 2 other customers in store. read more

Hmmm not sure how I feel... I walked in and wasn't even greeted by the three men standing behind the counter watching TV. Not sure if it's because I'm a girl or not. The place had a pretty good selection with a LOT of back issues! Nice of you're a little behind and hoping to catch up. They've got some video games, mostly Xbox 360 and one N64 controller hahaha. I believe I also saw a TV and Game system where you can pay to play by the hour? I didn't look to in to it because there was a guy using it. No shop assistant spoke to me until I made my purchase, which isn't a huge deal since I knew what I was looking for, but was no where close to the vibe you get at Space Cadets. They man who rang me up seemed distant but friendly, and he told me they're moving locations to Wilson and Frazier at the new year. I'll likely be coming back because their new locations will be right next to my apartment and it will be convenient, but if this place really wants to excel, they're going to need to become a bit more sociable. read more
