I've been to this plaza MANY times, but I've never walked into this store until recently. And I gotta say this place is messy and disorganized. Like VERY messy LOL. I tried to go an hour after they were supposed to be open, but the door was locked. I was about to drive away until I decided to give them a call. A lady picked up and said she'd be there in 5 minutes. I read the other reviews and they were right: this lady was so nice. I didn't feel pressured or anything. She was straight up a very lovely person. BUT THE PLACE WAS SO MESSY LOL. To be fair, I walked in about 2 minutes after they unlocked the doors and the lights were still off, so maybe they haven't had time to set up anything yet. But the place looked like the inside of a shed but with collectibles and cards LOL either way, despite that, I like this place and WILL come back! I came here looking for pokemon cards. No slabs. By far, my favorite card shop. Great for Pokemon! All the other shops have switched to other TCGs but this shop always has some. They have all the other cards as well of course. Prices have remained as reasonable as possible. (All the shops have gone up, but some have gotten very unreasonable). I've always had great service here too. This shop isn't for everyone - I get that. But in a world of scalping, condescending comments, and blatant disinterest; it's refreshing to have a place like this that allows me to continue my hobby without feeling violated by pricing or employees. read more

The place is a disaster, with dusty boxes piled up around the perimeter almost reaching the ceiling. The air is heavy and musty, and I had to leave because I could barely breathe from the dust in the air. Prices are fair, that's why I gave it 2 stars. Service, not so great. The guy seemed lost in his own world as he flipped through cards behind the counter, and it took a couple tries to get his attention, and even then, his answers were brisk and distracted, like he was annoyed that we were bothering him. I opened my 2nd box of yugiohs ghost from the past display. And immediately noticed that the shrink wrap felt rather tighter, thicker, including airbubbles. Therefore I purchase 2 more boxes from Ageless Cards in Lomita and compared the shrink wraps. And the difference was mindblowing. The legitimate shrink wrap from Ageless cards have a much larger konami logo, in addition the shrink wraps tear without hesitation. The shrink wrap from cardzilla simply have a much smaller konami font text, and as explained before a much thicker shrink wrap with air bubbles between the seems. I've opened probably as many as a full case in the span of a week, and only purchased 2 from cardzilla. It didn't take long to realize a descripensy.. to summarize please be careful when purchasing this product from cardzilla. Make sure to check the konami logo and the shrink wrap. read more

Went in just to browse the inventory, used to go here a lot roughly 15 years ago for their Yu-Gi-Oh cards. The entire store is full of boxes and clutter, not sure if they're renovating, and it is pretty dimly lit. Nonetheless, the lady who works behind the counter is super nice, allowed us to browse the inventory freely. Prices are very good, new sets are cheaper than retail at Target/Walmart. After visiting the first time and having a great experience meeting Ping, I took my 7yr old son back today to meet her. He wanted to trade cards and the typical rate is 50-60% trade in value to another card. She lied about her card's value (triple what it was) and robbed my son in front of me. Nice little hobby and collectible shop in Torrance for as long as I can remember. They mainly do Yugioh & other trading card games, along with accessories such as card sleeves, deck boxes, etc. There is usually a seating area inside for people and the atmosphere is relatively mellow. I've been to many card shops, I mainly go for YuGiOh trading cards. The only reason this place gets my 2 stars instead of one is that they do have competitive pricing on used cards, and have plenty in stock. The main reason I am upset with this store is their inability to provide reasonable customer service. I went in to purchase a handful of used cards around $11~ total. I went to pay the owner of the store(Chinese lady), and she wouldn't accept my debit card(I had no cash on me). She told me it is because their store policy is a minimum of $15(or so) for them to accept credit/debit transactions. I understand the business standpoint of it, because Mastercard/Visa etc takes a certain % of every charge from them. But it is actually against their contractual agreement to enforce a minimum purchase policy, and that is enough qualification to cancel the contract agreement with them(In my case, MasterCard). You can formally submit a complaint through email or phone to Mastercard about any business that breaches their contractual agreement with them and the customers of the store. For that reason, I will never be giving this store my business again. If this hadn't happened, I'd probably give this place 4-5 stars, but customer service is how 99% of businesses keep their customers loyal. read more

Cardzilla. Oh yeah!!! This place is down right awesome. The service here is ideal. Every clerk that i have had the pleasure of dealing with was fantastic and friendly. They're very open and will share what they think of the product with you if you ask. One of the clerks is an expert at anime, two at card games, and one of the clerks actually knows every single thing that's in the store and in their online store ( www.abctoy4me.com ). The one bad thing about Cardzilla though is that the shop is very compact. There is sooooooo much stuff here that there isn't enough space to actually bend down and look at items on the lower shelves. As all the figures, mangas, DVDs, and display cases for the cards are all in front of each other or right next to each other. You have little space to let some one pass or have two people look at the same item at the same time. Oh and forget about passing some one if they're kneeling or bending down to look at an item. I've seen some of these confrontations turn in to a shadow game Yu-Gi-Oh duels to the death, or soul depending on which season of Yu-Gi-Oh! you're in. Yes, this very tiny detail of space restrictions cab be justified by the great service and great merchandise. I highly recommend Cardzilla. Go, and have a nerd-gasm at ALL of their stuff. read more

We walked into a mini nerd heaven! I took my two boys in to look for Pokémon cards and I didn't think we'd ever leave! The lady there was nice and patient. Especially when my boys finally picked something, but then changed their minds.....about a dozen times! If they sold comic books I myself would be spending the night there. So what can I say about this place? They are supposed open at 11 o'clock in the morning but they didn't show up until 11:30. Of course they also didn't offer any apologies for being late if you're standing right outside the door and tell him we were waiting. Then they had no specialty cards for Pokémon. And the girl behind the counter seemed bored and uninterested in helping us. She did say she had about three cards they were about $22 a piece. I said my boy spent a lot of money on cards before, and what did she do bring out a tray of basic cards. That's what I said just take you guys to the other shop where they want to services. Been driving past this place for a while on my way to my gym Brood 9 Martial Arts and finally went in with nephew and had a blast! I really wasn't into that card games but knew that my Nephew loved them so decided to stop by and I'm so glad I did. They have such a wide variety of anime, magic & other game cards and vintage toys that it was awesome. They people are pretty chill there and answer any questions you might have. It's pretty compact store with so much stuff to look at and go through, that it's cool. Learned a bunch about the games and even got Free Cards just for checking in on Yelp which was awesome. It's super close to Brood 9 so I will definitely be coming back in with my nephew or just to get him presents...or hey maybe I'll want something as well. read more

Cardzilla is a neat place to go checkout anime, anime collectibles and trading card games.. When it gets crowded it gets really hard to move around but its a good place to play cards with others since they have lots of tables and chairs set up. The people who work there seem pretty knowledgeable on the merchandise they sell as well as being easy to talk to without having to feel intimidated as some other shops i've been to and they have a pretty huge selection of Yugioh cards as well. read more

I'll list the things I encountered when I went in to the store: 1. Garbage left out in the middle of the store. Cardboard boxes piled high, along with garbage sacks full of empty cans. This was the middle of the store where customers can easily touch it and it's in your face, not tucked in a corner behind a counter. 2. A whole wall full of empty shelves with no merchandise at all. 3. Lots of dirt/dust. 4. Signs everywhere saying things like "Smile! You're on camera!" and "No refunds! Exchanges for store credit only!" and "Minimum $5 purchase for credit/debit!" Policies like these are the store's prerogative, but it felt like the owner doesn't trust the customers. 5. An employee (or maybe she was the owner herself) who seemed surprised/nervous I was in the store at all. Maybe in its previous years it was a well-kept store full of customers, but I can't imagine people meeting to play games here now. That said, they did have a lot of anime figures, cards, and some cute dolls. I can see coming here if you wanted something anime-related you couldn't get elsewhere. No sports cards, so don't go looking for anything not anime-related. read more

Visited this store with two friends. I'm not really a card collector or anything like that, but my friends are modest enthusiasts, so while driving back from other parts of LA we dropped by. It's a modest store. The wall to the right is filled with movies. To the front and the left are cards from many different sets and games. I only really browsed through a few, reading the text on the ones that were sitting in the open. The middle of the room are tables that have signs stating that they're reserved for tourneys and the like. The person working behind the counter was alright, helped us when we asked, but mostly stayed silent otherwise. Overall it was somewhat interesting to walk into. Considering I've never been into collectable trading card games it was somewhat of a new experience. Would I recommend a trip to LA just for it? No, not really. But it's a good place to visit if you're around the area, are hanging out with a group of bored friends, and want to find something to do. read more
