Well there are two locations around the corner from each other. And while the prices are the same as target or Walmart in the regular store, the tent offers some good bargains. There are about 20 different items to choose from at about $8-20 a pop. You may want to take pictures of what you see first and price match inside the main store. Well they don't price match, but the have several of the same selection of items at the main store for higher prices. Keep your eyes open. Selection is decent, place is clean and service is great. New items every Thursday. Was kinda worth the drive. You can bind a selection of toys from 6 months to 12 years old. read more

I haven't been to this store in years....since my kids were little. I used to buy gifts for: baby showers, birthdays and holiday gifts. I purchased the following in the past: Barbie, Fisher-Price, Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends toys. I also purchased newborn items as well. Most of the toys are reasonably priced. Wanted to check out this Mattel location to see if they had any good hot wheels. They have a lot of stuff there not many hot wheels though there's a little disappointing. They had some matchbox cars. They had a lot of other toys so if you're looking for other things that might be good, but for hot wheels didn't have too much but the store was nice. Staff was nice big selection of all of the kinds of toys and the price is released for everything that I had there if you're in the area and want to check it out I would suggest it, but if you're looking for premium hot wheels or a big selection this is not the place. read more

Not like it used to be when you could find deals, Selection is poor at best, prices are retail, mostly overstock toys and dolls that are not selling, retailer cancelations or international version. Nothin special in the main store and even less for the 2025 tent sale. Total waste of time this year. read more

Was not too impressed. I came here a few times to try and shop for the holidays but sometimes it was meh. The 1st time I went to the actual Toy Store. I thought the prices would be cheaper but its basically the same as online or retail - and the selection isn't as big as I had expected. The only positive is that I get a 30% discount because we're a nearby business. The 2nd time I waited in line for their Holiday Tent which the signs says up to 70% discount. Most of the items there are things that can't sell. Worse part is that theres like 2 cashiers and 100 people inside so you know the checkout line will take at least 30 minutes. Not worth it imo but the real toy store is okay. read more

I love this toy store! It is not closed as of the beginning of June. They were fully stocked and employees were friendly and helpful. I try to drop in anytime I find myself near the airport to find the perfect gifts for all the kiddos in my life. They always have just what I'm looking for. The parking lot is generally full out front but there is an additional parking lot a little off to the side along the street. Worth a visit! read more

The Mattel store is not discounted. It's retail prices. The tent doesn't have much of a selection (Barbie's, Polly pockets, hot wheel stuff, and some Disney dolls). The selection was very similar to last year. What's even worse is the line now. Took me 30 mins to get in on a weekday first thing in the morning. There was even a company that brought trucks of toys and emptied out the tent. They lack carts so that's what's holding up the line. Shout out to the worker there though! They work hard and are super helpful! The two star is a reflection of the lack of deals, carts and selection. read more

Came here to celebrate Valentine's Day a day later with my Hot Wheels Collector, and this was such a fun experience. If you come first thing in the morning, you will get a raffle ticket with a number; when they let you in, your number will be called on, and you have one minute to pick what you want. Once all the raffle tickets have been called, you are free to shop at your leisure. I was hoping the selection was much bigger, but you will find items that you may not find in major retail stores. Not to mention, some items are discounted, and there is a small clearance section. We made out like bandits and my BF was like a kid in a candy store. We will be back, as we spent enough to fill out an entire point card. Probably gonna pick up more Hot Wheels. LOL! read more

I have 2 under 2, which means that I have to plan trips ahead of time. Although this location is 30 mins from our place, we planned to get there right when they opened. We were really excited because my toddler loves hot wheels and we were excited to show him the huge cars and other fisher price real life displays. Unfortunately, the pictures on yelp are not open to the public sadly. Anyways upon arrival there was already 4-5 grown men waiting for it to open. When they opened those guys ran to the hot wheels section. I am really happy the store has a 1 limit per style for those cars, but unfortunately the guys kept hogging the area even though they have a rule where they only have a few mins to look (there wasn't anyone standing there to enforce the rule). After my son picked some toys while we waited for the hot wheels area to clear up, some lady got in front of him and pushed her way in (I'm pretty sure she was a reseller). That really got me speechless. My son didn't find any cool cars besides a firetruck one, but all the other cars were all the generic ones that other retail stores carry. Despite everything, our experience was okay. We just went to target and found better hot wheels for our son without the worry of other people hogging the area. Mattel I really hope you make a day where you open the displays to the public for little children or save a day where you allow little children make the first purchase. read more

I've been to this store a few times over the past 2 years and always come around my friend's children's birthdays or Christmases because this store has so many items that a kid would want. I think I saw this business talked about on a Instagram post recommending people going to their Tent Event with discounts. I wasn't able to make it to attend to then, but I did make it to the regular store during their business hours. The store isn't open for many hours, only during the normal business week like 8:00 to 5:00. Since I'm located in Orange county, it was a little bit of a trip for me to go check it out, but I was able to find other things to do in the area. When you go to the store you're literally at the Mattel headquarters and is a super tall building with the logo and a decord business space on the bottom. On the side of the building there is the Mattel store and you see a bunch of parents and kids coming in and out. Since I didn't go to the tent event, the store was in crazy crowded. There was enough people since it was the holidays, but plenty of items to get. Most of the items are full retail price, but they do have some deals going on in the day that you can check out. If there are things on sale, it is a small section and I heard that there is something every day depending on what their Factory makes. They do offer discounts for First Responders so if you're one of those types of people, you can let the check out staff. Considering the amount of things and the quality of toys I bought, I think it was a reasonable price and worth the experience if you were either an adult or a kid. I didn't even know that there were so many Brands under the Mattel umbrella, like Barbie Fisher-Price Hot Wheels and more. All of their toys are aged appropriately and those age indicators do help when you're trying to buy something that is okay for whoever you're buying for. read more

It was the era of dangerous toys and we couldn't get enough. If you are of a certain age there was nothing like the self-proclaimed "toymakers" at Mattel. Sure they launched well over a billion Barbie figurines into the world... she of the impossibly svelte (anorexic) 18 inch waist in human terms and... of course Hot Wheels. But their real genius was inventing instruments of impending disfigurement and skin grafting courtesy of two of my favorite playthings. I give you the Mattel Power Shop and Thingmaker. The Power Shop was a working lathe, saw and wood sander designed for six year olds with real blades and cutting apparatus of all types that spun and cut at incredible speeds -- fingers, eyes, hands... who needs them? Then there was the Thingmaker. This working griddle would cook and solidify "goop" poured into metal molds at extremely high temperatures. Try saying third degree burns three times fast. Dangerous? You bet. And our parents couldn't be happier. And if we ever got bored there was the omnipresent working chemistry set with real Bunsen burners and scads of chemicals to occupy our six year old attention spans. Parental supervision? Clearly optional. These were the halcyon days of youth when we roamed free outside before the lawyers got into everything and parental shaming was even a thing... when the majority of women smoked and it wasn't uncommon to see a pregnant women chaining through a pack of Virginia Slims. You've come a long way baby... or so went the advertising exhortation. Of course, my one eye still works perfectly and I can count just swell on seven fingers. Thanks Mattel. This place is honestly a waste of time! It is supposedly Mattel HQ's Toystore but the employees are rude and their selections are subpar. There's nothing but rows of the same item that you can already find at Walmart and Target. The prices are not any different from Walmart or Target either! I only came here for a certain doll because they had it while Walmart and Target don't. I called ahead of time before drove here! They said it was in stock but once I got here, they didn't have it or know anything about it! When I asked about a stock check, they cannot do it and it's not in their power! WTF? Why do they even work here and offer to help me if they won't even help me find the toy that I came here for!? I wasted three hours of my day waking up early and driving here for nothing! It's so bad." -Lucas, The Wizard (1989) This is a classic American brand, founded in California in 1945, and one of the world's largest toy makers. A lot of people don't know that Mattel manufactured a major video game console in the late 70s, early 80s and published video games. They were the ones behind the Intellivision, released in 1979 (over 3 million units sold), and the Power Glove, released in 1989 (about 1 million units sold). The Power Glove debuted at an MSRP of $75 which is about $155 in 2020 dollars. The Power Glove looked really cool, but it was actually an awful product. I convinced my parents to buy one for me and was really disappointed in the results. The thing barely worked. Of course, the game most people couldn't wait to try with the Power Glove was Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! The functionality was terrible. Most of the time, the games either wouldn't respond to the glove or you would end up doing something in the game that you didn't want to do. It was frustrating. The Power Glove was just for looks, plain and simple. I still have my original Power Glove in box, size M, to this day. It's neat to pull out and look at every once in a while and it's certainly a fun collectible to have. The Power Glove was ahead of its time with motion controls that later became mainstream almost two decades later with the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Kinect, and Sony PlayStation Move. The concept was there - down to the receivers you placed around your TV - but the execution was not. A big part of the reason why is because the Power Glove was a cheapened-down model of a much more refined product. It had to be made affordable for everyday consumers. Even though the Power Glove will go down as one of the worst controllers in video game history, its popularity and cult following cannot be denied. I recently bought the Hot Wheels Color Shifters car wash for my kid and it's awesome. HOWEVER, I also bought 2 additional cars (16 Angel's and Fast Felion) and they do NOT change colors. Regardless of cold to warm, or ice cold to hot, they do NOTHING. The stamped lot number for these is T09A. I tried emailing Mattel the issue, but it doesn't accept my purchase date (9/15/2024) or the Manufacturers code under the cars.
