If not they have extras on hand. Facilities: Plenty of Porta-potties on hand which I really appreciate because when your have a thousand nervous bladders downing Gatorade there's bound to be a line to urinate but Spartan had plenty. Appreciated the changing room after the race. Lots of booths handing free goodies was nice too. Course: First; the obstacles are so-so. Many of them (especially in the middle of the Super course) are rather simple and uninspired, wooden walls etc. They need more "herculean hoist" type obstacles scattered throughout the course instead of crammed into the last mile. Course seemed to more suited to the sprint as opposed to the Super. Second; the course terrain is not really conducive to running. I totally understand it's suppose to be challenging but running mile after mile in narrow ravines with fist sized rocks is just frustrating. Give me steep trails to break up the monotony. Price: Charging for spectators to watch is silly and makes no business sense. I like many people didn't bring family/friends to watch. Overall: A good race to do as a sprint.

It was gorgeous along the way when you could look up. At the top you can see views that are breathtaking. Or, maybe that was the climb. I did see a few mountain bikers and a couple of other people, but for the most part not crowded on the trail. I will do it again with someone, but not alone. I would also recommend some good grip shoes.

It was close to the hotel we stayed at and I read some great things about this park and my kids loved playgrounds, so off we go. It's been redone so it did not always look so fancy schmancy, but let me tell you this town and neighborhood is quite well to do so I think the funding is not lacking. The park is right next to the man-made lake which is made famous because of the fountain that goes off multiple times every day! But back to the park, the playground really is fun. There's things to climb, slide down, run onto, jump up and down on, and even a zip-line like thing that was kind of scary for me (yes, I'm a scaredy cat). My kids had a great time on that thing and my son in particular went crazy on it going back and forth multiple times. Overall, this is a great park, the playground alone is worth a visit, but then there's covered seating area not far from the playground, and right next to that there's a musical section where you can hit on different metallic objects to make music! My kids really had fun w/those things. There are benches for parents to chill after exertions on the play structure. The view of the lake is nice from anywhere at the park too. Lovely and enjoyable. We would love to visit again.

The manager spoke regularly to young families, and yes, one would expect that the older customers are most probably residents who know the rules, but it went beyond that. Some senior citizens were doing walk laps in the unrestricted area, and families were told to move away rather than the people use the unused lanes. There is no jumping even in the diving section, there can be no splashing, and a couple kids who did cannonballs from the diving board were told to stop.

The hike up to the top is easy (in my opinion), but there is a notable climb to the top which could be more of a moderate climb for some people. While there is an ADA parking spot, the hike itself isn't wheelchair accessible as there are no paved areas of the trail. Everyone's abilities vary but I wanted to provide that call out if there's anyone wondering about wheel chair accessibility. There are nice picnic areas and a restroom that are accessible for anyone using a wheelchair. There were some pretty flowers along the trail and the sights are beautiful.

There's lots of other activities spots too - baseball/softball fields, open fields for grass volleyball/football, basketball courts, playground, and walking paths. But I only care about the beach courts. The City of Scottsdale is routinely known for all the above with SRP courts- which is why they are always in high demand. #FirstWorldProblem There are 6 doubles courts with provided lines, lights, and ramadas with tables in the walkway between Courts 1&2 and Courts 3-6. Seriously, they know what they're doing here. A couple of years ago I called the Parks office to rent courts for my birthday volleyball tourney and the guy I spoke with indicated that they know they're good. If they aren't reserved, it's truly a toss up whether you can claim a court or not (even during summer). I only wish that other towns/cities could build as good courts in bulk much closer to me so the drive would be better, but a las.. I still end up at SRP weekly.
