CareNow is part of HealthOne (HCA Healthcare). They currently have about 10 locations in Denver metro. Highly recommend checking in Online before walk in, have to upload your ID and insurance card. Honestly, it is no exaggeration that I am lucky to be here typing this after being seen at CareNow. I was prescribed an antibiotic that had a very serious contraindication with a medicine I was already on and had disclosed to the providers. They failed to cross reference and failed to even investigate the potential interaction. [Luckily for me I hadn't taken much of the med that would interact with the antibiotic that week.\ The severe interaction is cardiac arrest. I did experience slight chest pain, but I'm still vertical. Make sure your providers are checking for potential risks associated with drug interactions. Don't assume they've done their due diligence. read more

CareNow either has incompetent staff or is deliberately billing customers inappropriately. I brought my son to get his cough checked out in early February. I filled out the paperwork they required, including insurance, even as I shared I intended to pay whatever balance was owed because I wasn't using my insurance (as I expected a small bill). After they quoted $290, I started walking out the door, and they stopped me and told me they could do it for $100. I agreed and they saw my son. A month later I received a bill for another $110, which I disputed. A month and a half after they completed their "review" they say I still owe $110. This business had the opportunity to correct their mistake and chose to handle it differently. Choose a more ethical facility to address any medical needs. read more

As a person with a disability I do not feel safe here. New staff is extremely rude and not knowledgeable. Used to drive out of my way to come here but no longer going to do so. The front desk person didn't greet me as I walked into an empty clinic. I had a tele appointment and only needed to go into the clinic for a swab test. I'm not sure if she was new but she made me go through the whole registration process again and had me waiting for 30 mins with no other patients in the building. I'm finally called back for my swab test and the man performing the test had 0 bedside manner. Just rude for no reason. Will never return here and I encourage others to do the same. read more

Traveling from out of state and my ears and throat were bothering me. Came here to determine if it was just a bad sinus thing or an infection. Got here when it first opened and they set me up in a room right away. The front desk was super friendly and very thorough. I was seen by C. Wright and he was very explanatory about what he could see in my ears and throat. He only provided the treatment that I felt was absolutely necessary, which is always nice in a doc visit. I don't got to the doctor very often but this place made me feel at ease. They were also helpful in locating a pharmacy. I've had 2 experiences here that were great. The last one being this past Saturday. But, it's what has happened since then that gets them only 1 star. I went in for Paronychia in my thumb this past Saturday. I was put on antibiotics, sent on my way after a super quick visit and left thinking how much I love the efficiency of this place. Well, fast forward 4 days on antibiotics and my thumb wasn't getting any better. It actually was hurting worse. I called them to speak with a provider about what else I could do and ask for a different antibiotic once I was done with this one. I was told I'd get a call back and that didn't happen. The next day the pain was even worse so I called again (now day 5 of antibiotics). I was told again that someone would call me back and that they put a note that it was urgent. Didn't get a call back. I also explained that I was in the middle of a 3 day stretch of work (I'm a nurse and for this company, no less) so I couldn't come in to the clinic. Not to mention, why would I pay $20 again for them to not physically do anything to my thumb again. I digress. Anyway, since I didn't hear from them I had one of the surgeons at my work attempt to drain it. I needed relief and this place miserably failed at helping me with a solution. The end. read more

They're charging $240 for Covid testing. Walgreens is doing it for free. Grossly overcharging for testing in a pandemic strikes me as the opposite of care. They justify the crazy cost by saying they have to do a 'health visit.' They don't have to. That's just how they manage to over bill your insurance. How do I know this? After I waited an hour after checking in online (I feel like crap, even if it's not Covid sitting in a waiting room seemed less than ideal for me and everyone else) I got a message to drive in. While I was driving, I got a call saying I needed to do a Tele health visit. I explained that I was driving to the clinic as I was told, during a rainstorm, and it would not be safe for me to video chat. The lady agreed to do the 'visit' by phone. Yeah. An operator asking me about symptoms Is not a doctors visit and certainly not something I - or my insurance - should be paying for. Do yourself a favor and go to CVS, Walgreens, anywhere else. And if you have any need to see a doctor, see a real one. read more

No healthcare business should tolerate staff lying to people. I went online and submitted a request to "save my place in line" to have my kiddo seen. I received multiple texts confirming receipt and telling me that I would receive a text once it was our time to come in. No text came, so I called in to see whether we would get in that evening. The woman on the phone told me that there is no option to save a place in line and the wait was 1.5 hours; which meant we would not be seen that evening. We went in the next morning, and the woman at the desk nonchalantly stated that there actually is a save-your-spot option and the woman the day before was in training (by the current woman), so she just was mistaken. So the woman a spoke with I the morning was, apparently, there when I spoke with the woman the evening before, but did nothing to correct the wrong information. Then the woman assured me that she texted me about our place in line - nope. So what could have been a mistake then became a several flat out lies. This is unprofessional and really undermines the credibility of the establishment. I asked to speak with a manager, was told I'd receive a call - still have not received a call. We had to wait 45 minutes to be seen and the NP spent five minutes with us. He was pleasant and professional, but not remotely thorough. We left with some negative test results. They never followed up with the test that had to be cultured; which made a stressful vacation urgent care visit unnecessarily frustrating and unhelpful. read more

I had to go twice to this Urgent Care during the COVID pandemic. Once in March 2020 due to an infected tooth (which then caused mouth Thrush... ICK!!), and once in April 2020 because I moronically peeled 1/4 of my thumbnail off while I was peeling a cucumber. THESE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING!! I was ushered in right away. Everyone was wonderful, professional and personable. Everyone in this clinic is absolutely amazing. I'm thrilled that they are in my neighborhood, and should I ever need to go to Urgent Care again... I will ONLY go to CareNow. Not because they are close in proximity, but because they are absolutely amazing. Thank you, you wonderful people risking your own health to help others. The MD from years ago was lovely and helped all our kids over the years. The new PA is rude, dismissive, and made a ridiculous diagnosis. Saw my child's pediatrician and immediately was prescribed the antibiotic he needed. Save yourself the $200 I wasted. read more

I visited CareNow today after being referred to by my regular doctors office when they had no availability. First off, I hate going to the doctor, I put it off as long as possible, so I originally called the nurse at my regular doctor's office to explain my symptoms and see if they thought an appointment was needed. After speaking in depth over the phone, the nurse I spoke with said based on my symptoms that they recommended I be seen within 4 hours, and being that they had no openings in the next two days, she gave me addresses of Urgent Cares nearby me. Therefore, I headed over to CareNow within the following few hours. The front desk staff, nurses, lab tech, etc were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, upon the MD entering my room, she had me explain why I was there, and her response? Scoffing at me and asking me why my doctors office sent me there. She laughed out loud and acted confused why I was even there, after I gave a very brief overview of my symptoms. She didn't ask a single question prior to that about my current physical state, didn't do anything physical checks, just kept acting confused and scoffing about why she didn't know why I was sitting before her. Let me remind you, it takes a lot for me to go into a doctors office anyway, and having the MD immediately make you feel stupid, upon simply entering your room, after you were referred to go there, is not okay. I am an adult woman and don't appreciate being made to feel stupid or childish when it wasn't my decision to go there in the first place. If you have questions as to why I was referred, I would call the office that sent me. They have scheduled further testing at another facility, likely to justify the hundreds I will likely pay for simply showing up. After my upcoming referral appointments, myself and my family will not be returning, which is unfortunate because the front office staff and everyone but this specific MD seemed very helpful and friendly. read more

I decided to try an urgent care for my issue since it seems hard to get in for a regular office visit with a provider. Also, this was my first experience at a CareNow, or even within the HealthOne system. And my usual disclaimer: I'm a healthcare clinician myself, so I MIGHT be a little bit more critical. My first question is- is this how it is across the system? If it is representative of how it is, then I'll just go ahead and switch my care over now. Despite my health issue, my experience here was great. Everyone from the front desk to the doctor herself were all caring and just great at providing customer service. They were pleasant, kind and considerate. It happened to be freezing in the exam room, and the LPN was kind enough to bring me a blanket while I waited for the doctor. Dr. Greenwood was very patient with me, and very understanding of my squirminess as a patient. The day after, the staff even called to check in on me and see if I was doing ok- I only have ever had this done for my dog when we've gone to the vet! Not heard of for humans. Then, when my lab tests were in, Dr. Greenwood called me herself to discuss them with me. I felt like I was in good hands. Isn't that how we should all feel when we go in to see the doctor? I think so. And we all deserve that. read more

They'll make rude comments and say out of pocket things and blatantly show they don't care about patient medical freedom!! Let me start by saying I love the Doctors here. But it stops there. My family has been there many times and for the fourth time they have had our proper insurance info and billed our old insurance. We have had to talk to their billing department almost monthly. Last week we cleared up yet another bill here they said yes we have your proper insurance but either didn't bill it or billed our old insurance. Now they sent a visit to collections. If you're coming for a Covid test go elsewhere - been here for 2 hours even after using web check in. I was also charged a copay. I used covidcheck Colorado previously and although I had to drive downtown, I was in and out in 10 mins and it was free. The Covidcheck location was outdoors and contactless, this place is not - handing cards back and forth and signing things - and I'm afraid I've probably been exposed to Covid just sitting in this waiting room around all the sick people. read more

The best place to go in an emergency other than an ER, should you ever need it! While visiting from out of town, my elderly parent experienced a fall, subsequently hitting her head and bruising other parts of her body. Luckily, a quick search of Emergency Care centers on Apple Maps revealed CareNow to be only a short distance from us, and with already excellent reviews. Upon arriving at the clinic, we were immediately guided into the triage area, and examined within minutes, including the x-rays that are performed in-house. I made an appointment and paid nearly $200 for an urgent Covid test bc I was potentially exposed and then unwittingly exposed some very high risk seniors before I was alerted. I explained my situation to the very nice doc - who explained that they'd run my results STAT given the situation. I waited, got a call from Tri-county health, from families, from Tri-county health again, and waited some more. I called the clinic - no results yet. Finally, 36 hours later (these were to have had about a 12-hr turn around, per the lab) it never got sent bc "Lab just never came." Wait? What? You have an uncollected STAT lab sitting there, and it never occurs you to actually GET IT RUN STAT! To find out why it wasn't collected? Two hundred dollars later, and a lot of run around and passing the buck, blaming lab, lab blaming urgent care and still no results. Take the trip up to the Urgent Care up the street. These guys aren't worth your dollars, but they'll take as many of them as they can get. read more
