While I am still a TruFit member and enjoy the facility in full, my frustration with cleanliness, condition and service continues to rise. And what makes it worse is the on-site leadership nor the corporate teams seem to have any interest in addressing anything. For example, it has been close to a year since I reported what appears to be pink mold on the two large air units that provide air conditioning to the building. The black and pink mold are still there, and the staff has not even made an attempt to clean...which would be as simple as a disinfectant wipe down. Seems like an odd thing to overlook with so many members potentially impacted. This combined with the constant lack of spray and/or paper towels at the sanitation stations is just annoying. In addition, there have been lots of machines that have "pulled a hammy" and have remain broken for weeks and in some cases, months. Again, another annoyance. But above all, the service continues to go downhill, which is a huge bummer. Rarely do you get welcomed into the club anymore and good luck if you have an issue where escalation is needed. We experienced an issue due to recent weather and the parking lot signage. We were getting no where with the onsite leadership or even regional, so we emailed the CEO directly and finally things started happening. And it really shouldn't take all that. I am really hoping this is my last update and star reduction of TruFit. I really do enjoy this gym and want them to be great, as promised.

My biggest complaint: the men's locker room. Multiple lockers are broken (doors completely missing). Random clothing items are often left in lockers. The showers are rarely cleaned, and are scummy and gross. One shower has a broken door handle and a broken soap dispenser that is hanging off the wall. It's been this way for MONTHS. I've mentioned this to staff and nothing has changed. I realize It's only $20 a month, but that's not an excuse for not keeping the place clean and in order. I've mentioned this to multiple employees, and still nothing has been done.

I walked into the gym one day...mind you I am 8 months pregnant and still working out 5 days a week and prior to being pregnant, on that same schedule...I was greeted by the male owner ....Jeffrey...with "hey fatty." You don't ever call a woman fat, or a person in general...but much less a pregnant woman...ESPECIALLY when your profession is in the fitness arena...and when you are walking into a gym to better yourself. I thought on it, and the more I thought about it, the more upset I got. Being that he is older, and should know better, I thought it was worth posting on Facebook...not mentioning their company nor their names... a general "PSA" stating that "Men...just little word for the wise...Don't greet a pregnant woman with "hey fatty" its not cute, you aren't funny and you look and sound like an a**hole" I went to the gym like normal the following day thinking it would be discussed, however it wasn't. I had my baby shower there....(prescheduled) that Sunday and then the following Monday I received a letter from the male partial owner....Jeffrey...and it was now stated that I had caused "disruptions" and that I was no longer going to be accepted as a client. I felt like this was for intimidation. He was the one that called me "fatty" and should have been saying sorry, instead Angie let him further bully me by letting a man...vs a woman...give me this letter ...all a intimidation technique which, in my opinion is even more disgusting. Even the owners mom directed me to him versus simply explaining herself or directing me to Angie to discuss my membership. I have never been notified of these "disruptions" and have spoken to other instructors and they were clueless as to what they were talking about. On top of the fact that if I was so "disruptive" why would you let my friend plan my baby shower there...and take her money for doing so?! Makes no sense ....just bad business and a reflection of the people that own this facility. So basically, instead of saying sorry, I was not only body shamed, I was then further shamed as a "disruption" ...basically ...trying to make him calling me "fatty" my fault and then kicking me out of the gym for sticking up for myself..vs saying sorry, that never should have been said...and was very unprofessional. All of this is a form of bullying. I took it as "you called me out for something I shouldn't have said, so I'm not only going to make up things about you, I'm going to kick you out of my club....and not even think twice about just apologizing for the unprofessional slanderous comment. I'm writing this review in hopes that women will join in making a stand to stop this behavior. We are all judged too closely on our body image as it it...much less having to worry about it walking into a gym... and being called "fatty" ...especially from someone who's profession is fitness. You go to the gym to better yourself not only physically but also mentally, and that can't be accomplished when you are being body shamed...with no remorse.

A gym should be a place where members feel welcome and respected. Instead, this location left me dealing with staff who thought it was appropriate to stand around gossiping about guests. Specifically, the Black female employee (with the very obvious, poorly kept wig) and the White male janitor decided their time was better spent making negative comments about paying members instead of doing their jobs. I don't know if this is the kind of "culture" management condones here, but it was beyond ridiculous, childish, and completely unnecessary. I travel often and have been to multiple Crunch gyms across the country, and I have never experienced staff so blatantly unprofessional. When you're in town on business, the last thing you should have to deal with is feeling like you walked into a high school cafeteria instead of a fitness facility. At my home location in West Hollywood, staff go out of their way to create a positive, supportive environment. Here, it seems some employees would rather stand around acting like mean kids than maintain the level of professionalism Crunch claims to represent. Members are paying customers, not targets for staff gossip. If this location wants to maintain any standard of excellence, management needs to address this behavior immediately. And if it isn't corrected, I'll be more than happy to escalate this to Crunch corporate, because this type of behavior drags down the reputation of the entire brand. As someone who travels frequently, I often recommend gyms to colleagues and other business travelers. Providing us with information, strategies and just comfort. They always check on our son and he is filled with joy when he comes here. Truly the amount of time they put into him shows with his want to come to therapy. They facility is spotless and well organized. They also continue to put the kiddos first but enforcing safe health practices. They continue to provide services that meet the needs of concerned parents and will go the extra step to make sure the kiddos are progressing. We have nothing bad or even a complaint about this place. We recommend this to friends or just other families in need of services and are overwhelmed. The way the therapists work together throughout different modalities is super impressive. Speech noticed that my son was having delays in fine motor skills, and was able to set up a referral to occupational therapy. Occupational therapy noticed my son was toe walking and w sitting, and got the referral to physical therapy. Everything has always been seamless and effortless. Everyone there knows my son and greets him with a smile (and sometimes stickers and lollipops LOL). My guy absolutely loves going there and has gone from being nonverbal to speaking in full sentences, his fine motor skills are almost up to where they need to be, and most of all he's happy! My friend referred me to here after my niece had a speech impediment. I have family in the area, so I frequent the area often as the drive from Atlanta to Nashville isn't too big, especially if it can help the little girl. The inside of the building is extremely child friendly, and the staff are so amazing with Marie. They always greet us with a warm welcome, and Marie has been improving every visit. She was finally able to stand up and speak in her class presentation without crying, and she finished with a big smile on her face! I have gotten to know the staff very well through our multiple visits, and I cannot explain how much passion they have towards their practice and how much they enjoy helping children through their struggles. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a child that has any difficulty with speech anxiety or speaking disorders regardless of language because they will be taken care of by these great people.
