We received a refund from an overpayment and the next time we went we were told we had a balance due with no explanation. I emailed their billing department numerous times asking for itemized statements including payments made so I can compare with my EOB's and did not receive them. When I called their billing company the owner was extremely rude and told me she would not send me the itemized statements so I told her by law she had to. At that point she told me I was "threatening" her business and hung up on me. Prior to that my BCBS advocate emailed her and called her several times with no response. Three days after I was hung up on, I was sent a letter by Rachel saying she would no longer see me because I violated the patient standards agreement. Honestly, if they are going to terminate you as a patient because you question their billing policies, it shows you where their first concern is!! I have been going there for over three years and never had a problem until this new management/billing company took over. Even their staff complains about them!!!!! Welp, I believe everything happens for a reason! I wasn't planning on going back anyway until my billing situation was resolved.

They told me that they couldn't see me because they were at capacity. I look around and there is a mother and her son sitting in the waiting room. I ask how they are at capacity and the lady at the front desk tells me that they have 5 or 6 people waiting in rooms. I let the lady know that I will wait until 7 and if the doctor can see me then great but if not then fine but I'm willing to wait. She wouldn't allow me to do this. She told me that if they couldn't let people in otherwise they would be here all night. I asked her why the sign said open until 7 if they are turning away patients at 6. She told me that she isn't turning me away that I can come back tmrw. Really? No thank you and I don't ever plan on going back. You get into healthcare to help people and you understand that sometimes you may have to work a bit longer. You take all the good and bad that comes with it, not only the times that you feel like doing it. I was not given a chance to voice concerns or ask questions at the end of the visit. There was no clarifying questions asked about my family or personal health history. For example, I listed insomnia as a diagnosis. I am not taking any medication for it. No questions about how I am sleeping. I put down I had a pulmonary embolism 1.5 years ago with a positive family history, but no questions about why I am not taking a blood thinner. I have a recurring health issue, but no questions about that. No request to have my medical records sent. Did not ask if I needed refills (I didn't). This was a visit where information gathering was expected and important for upcoming care. I feel that opportunity was wasted. I was disappointed that this was a no go for me. I have had excellent providers the past 25 years plus, so maybe my expectations were unrealistic.

They are NOT and 'in-network' provider, meaning you will get charged for services that would be 100% covered at a different urgent care. They willingly deceive by stating they are 'tricare certified'. Bottom-line- do not come here they wantonly prey on vulnerable (injured or sick) military by being deceitful. Better believe I have learned my lesson and will check with Humana or other Tricare contractor in the future before receiving care- this place got the best of me in a vulnerable moment. I have been receiving care from OrthoSC over the years. I have always had the best care. Dr…read more Merritt just did arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery. I highly recommend him. He is caring, listens, and explains things thoroughly. I am blessed to have Ortho SC, physical therapy, and Dr. Merritt for my orthopedic care. In addition, my physical therapist, Marian, has helped me reach goals I would never have thought I would in a short time frame after surgery. I highly recommend!!
