Context: I injured my back and have been experiencing EXTREME pain and horrifying muscle spasms. Had to get an x-ray and awaiting the results. Sarah calls and leaves a VM stating she has my results. I call back and speaking with Sherry. I introduce myself on the call and state why I'm calling. Sherry replies "...okay so...". Now I'm confused because she sounds like she doesn't know what I'm talking about. She asks why I'm calling and I explain again and ask what information she needs from me, she's still acting like she doesn't know. I state I'm getting frustrated and the VM Sarah left only states to call back that number. Sherry asks for my name, i reply "as mentioned at the beginning of the call, my name is....". Sherry responds and basically cusses me out saying I don't need to be rude and talk to her with my tone. Mind you, I'm in excruciating pain on the verge of tears. I start recording the call on my end because I was appalled with her response! I explain to her my predicament and finally was shown some empathy. I shouldn't have to explain my life story and break down into tears for a healthcare professional to show some empathy. Sherry does not need to be working there or in healthcare. Sarah was AMAZING! :) She deserves to be recognized for her upbeat demeanor and excellent care. Sarah is the reason this review is getting 1 star. Thank you Sarah for your kindness EDIT: Both Sarah and Sherry are trash. Sarah said based on my results, I got a referral for PT. Sarah stated she will send over my referral to the PT office. She told me to call in an hour but I know these things take a while and called a few hours later and left a VM. I called again this morning and was speaking to someone, getting registered, and turns out, Sarah NEVER sent it over. Neither Sarah or Sherry belong in healthcare. "Urgent care" phrase means simple provide urgent medical when needed. Wait time 3hrs ???. Then on top you have to "prebook....????" Thats about "urgent" now about care....the front desk is horrible sounds like a jailer..... Once your turn comes, you will be made to sit another half hour before you get be seen...not by a doctor but a nursing assistant....there after by a nurse.....i wonder if they have any MDs workin there.... The lady at the front desk had the audacity to tell me that I had not visited since 2023, when I came in June of 2025 to be seen and even worse at the time I was given the wrong medicine that could have fatally ended my life and today she refused to take my masshealth number, when it has been done multiple times. management needs to be better and train their employees properly. no wonder this urgent care has a low rating. read more

This place is a bad joke. I've tried to take my family here three times and they were TERRIBLE! This last time was the final straw. Why would I come back after 2 times of bad service? Because they were the only place open besides the ER that was open past 5 on a Sunday. We got in there at 4:45, waited in line for around 10 minutes. A line formed as the receptionist was nowhere to be found. When someone finally noticed that there was a group of people there. The staff told the mother in front of me that they stop taking patients at 5pm and that there were too many patients ahead. So the times listed on their website and google? BS! "Don't see a time that works best for you? Walk-ins are always welcome at any of our Centers." Bull effing crap. Sherri, the front desk rep is rude, incompetent and unfavorable. I waited 2 hours at your establishment after PRE CHECKING IN. I check in and let her know i have filled out stuff online, she barely looks at me and waves me off to "finish checking in" on the tablet. Nothing else said, or mentioned. After a bit of waiting I ask her what's going on, she lets me know my appointment was marked "no show" because of missing documents.... Now how was I supposed to know that? I was waved off and told to check in on a tablet and sit when I'm done. Waiting 2 hours and not being seen AT ALL because of missing information is PREPOSTEROUS and DANGEROUS to your community. Reception was nice and helpful. I didn't even make it past the nurse. I had multiple health concerns and I was told that I had to pick one, they would not test for both. The reasoning was that I only paid for one visit but when I asked if I paid for two if I could have tests ran I was still refused and told to pick which of my medical concerns i wanted treated. Horrible way to treat someone who is ill and adds to the issue of nurses and doctors doing nothing for people. Save yourself time and go somewhere else where they might do their jobs as medical professionals. I can often be sick due to immune issues and I've never had a different urgent care tell me to pick which concern I wanted tested and treated. I have no words to describe just how upset I am at the "provider" we met with this evening at the Northboro location. She was unprofessional, disrespectful, and I am left stunned that she threw my daughter and I out with minutes because in her opinion I got an answer wrong on the questionnaire and then accused me of being frustrated, hostile, and causing an unsafe environment for her. it's not a surprise to see the other negative reviews after our experience. we came in with a sliced hand in need of stitches - we called on our drive to let them know we were coming and we still waited an hour PLUS they didn't tell us we needed to pre-register so we spent 20 minutes doing that because the photos of insurance cards wouldn't upload on their terrible internet. The front desk staff is rude and yet there is a sign warning "you will not be served if you're violent/aggressive/rude". it's clear they need that sign because they've warranted the behavior that often. it's sad how people are treated when they're in desperate need of help. I made an appt same day because I wasn't feeling well with a cough and sore throat. I waited just 15 min before being seen. The clinician that took me in was kind and sympathetic to the way I was feeling. She asked me a lot of questions while checking my BP and temp. She told me that I'd be seeing a nurse practitioner shortly. The NP came in just a minute later. She was thorough and had a warm personality. She prescribed me a pill to help with my cough and I was on my way. Excellent people! read more

Came at 8:30 am for Covid test. My only symptoms were fatigue and sore muscles. I just wanted a test to be sure. Told I had to see a provider which could take 1.5- 2 hours and that I should wait in my car until it was my turn. It is now 12:18. I'm in a room finally, but no Dr. I think they went to lunch and left me here. No explanation either. I've spoken up- just to be sure they really didn't forget me. Was told that this is just how it is. If your in a hurry, I suggest you try another place for testing. I might be here all day. Grrrr! read more

AVOID this urgent care by ANY means. I went there twice and had consistently horrible experience: 1. Incompetent PA. The PA (a man) has insufficient medical knowledge. Why? I am a specialized physician. Why did a physician go to an urgent care? I am specialized and accompanied my family members (usually a physician doesn't treat close relatives/friends). I didn't disclose my background but observed how poorly his interview and performance was. Basically this is a business run by the incompetent PA. 2. The PA and the staff were NOT professional at all. No introduction after coming in and you had to figure out if the guy was a janitor or an MD or a medical assistant. Of course, you won't expect to have any communication regarding medical thought of flow or management plan, even in an unprofessional style. 3. You have to wait for at least 2 hours to see the PA. Why not go to an ER in a smaller hospital (not UMass please if not truly emergent) or an urgent care with MDs? Treat yourself well by driving a bit further in the town please. 4. Billing. Believe it or not, you will be charged for the non-MD service as the same as any major hospitals. By the way, please avoid PAs/NPs. Believe me, you will see so many and more and more in the field. They perform bone marrow biopsies without any clue of medical background. They order CT-guided renal biopsies without considering any indications. They order antibiotics which ever they have without thinking about the etiologies. read more

Racial discrimination is the right word! This incident happened on Jan 11th, 2024, around 5:45 pm. I went to the Northborough carewell office yesterday after getting an online 5:45 pm. appointment for my cold cough symptoms. We provided details of the insurance card, and my driver's license ID was asked to be sent to her email id through email as I had my soft copy. A form was also given to fill out, which I did asap. Another patient with a 6 pm. appointment arrived after me. But still was being sent inside to be seen by the front-end staff. When I rechecked with staff, if she couldn't find my 5:45 pm. appointment as to why I was not being sent in, she replied, saying she didn't process my registration still and needed time waiting for the email to come in. We rechecked a wrong email id and resent the email of my drivers ID, but then she still didn't process my registration. Another patient with a 7 pm. appointment walked right in, saying her son was in a basketball game and she decided to walk in earlier than 7pm appointment and could use the game waiting time for her visit. She was also being sent in before me. I was still sitting there watching the scene and being perplexed. Then I walked up the front-end staff asking why I was still waiting . She purposefully said my I'd was still not clear while printing, so she will only take the copy and re-scan from my phone instead of receiving it in email. By the time she could rescan my id, the 7pm patient was let inside right in front of my eyes. I raised my rights and asked to explain the reason to send another patient with a 7 pm. appointment before me. Everyone has errands, and everyone has kids, I raised to her, saying it's not fair to keep me waiting with a 5:45pm appointment, while you sent 2 ppl right before me even though their appointment was after mine. Another staff member from inside emerged with a greater attitude and challenged me, she was saying that its upto them to decide whom they want to be sent inside and whom not and infact since I raised a concern, I will be seen as a last patient. Watching this, the front-end staff all of a sudden started forcing us for a credit card to be placed on file if needed to be seen. I and my husband were shocked because we gave her everything, valid ID, insurance details, and if there was copay, we were ready to pay. But the front-end staff insisted she wanted a credit card on place, and without that, we can not be seen. Ppl, including 2 more doctors, came out to the front desk only to start threatening us more and arguing about this, asking us to obey the front-end staff. We were asking them to show us the policy where we should place the credit card on file even before being seen, but they couldn't provide us with the policy. They simply kept insisting, but no where the policy displayef. Finally, I decided to give up, and I would not allow a racist doctor and his racist team members to treat me this way. So I had to walk out without being seen very sadly. FYI, this placed carewell. Northborough is filled with recists from front desk staff to doctors. Everyone was rude.. It was obvious the front desk person was one, I was stripped of my dignity for standing up for my rights to be seen while others were left to go inside before me. I was not treated well by all the staff, including the dr, who came out to see why we would raise concerns. I am a person of Asian color and being discriminated against even though we were legal citizens and have been in this country for more than 25 years and follow all rules and policies correctly. We are people of highly qualified profiled engineers and definitely know better as to how the medical industry works and what hippa is. The doctors and the staff were very rude to us. I'm really unhappy and feel unsafe at this location. Note: I had visited Readymed after these ppl threw me out with rejection. Readymed did not insist for credit card. I went because my equilibrium/balance was off and my ears felt full. The doc looked in my ear and said I had a middle ear infection.. Usually, just looking in someone's ear you can't tell if it is really a middle ear infection, and an ENT does more specific tests but with no spleen, I think she made the right decision to give me antibiotics, though I did not have a fever. However, she never looked in my nose or at my throat, which is BASIC and they never took my temperature. I just don't think I have ever received quality care there and just do not trust that place. It was a Sunday, so it was that or the ER. I will call an ENT on Monday. I guess in a pinch, it is better than nothing, but I have always had to follow up with my primary care or specialist afterwards. read more

This place is the WORST urgent care I've ever been too, I've been a handful times and they keep shocking me. I went for an X-ray a few weeks back, they diagnosed it wrong and forgot to send it my doctor.... Fast forward to today, I walk in 3 hours prior to closing and the woman up front says "what can I do for you" well gee I figured I'd hang out here in 100 degree heat. I tell her my issue and she says "not seeing anyone else today" you're open till 8, there's 3 people in the waiting room and you're not seeing anyone else? I shook my head and left: avoid this place at all costs, it's too bad the med post across the street closed as they were phenomenal. Came here because I suspected my daughter had strep. We were told there was nothing available the evening we showed up and we should make an appointment for the following day. When we arrived at our scheduled time, we were told we would have to wait 15 minutes. We have now been here for well over an hour and have not been seen. The waiting room is postage stamp size. I could hear people coming in with Covid symptoms and, instead of asking them to wait in their car, are all sitting in waiting room (some with masks not fully on). Not sure if my daughter has strep or not but pretty sure we are now both going to be leaving here with something! Horrible experience. read more

Had an appointment at 2:00. They told us 10 minutes. It was almost 90 minutes and that was with an appointment. I don't think it matters if you have an appointment or not. They see you when they want to see you. Be prepared for crazy crazy long wait times with or without an appointment. However the care was great. Did not feel rushed at all. Paid my $50 copay, did not give them my card beyond running it, after my insurance paid them, they felt it was not enough money and fraudulently charged my card another $84.57. Stay far away from this fraudulent operation, $134.57 out of my pocket and over $200 from my insurance company to say my ankle was sprained and put an ace bandage on it, no X-ray or anything just 5 minutes of the doctors time. I could have gone to a real emergency room, paid $100 and been done with it. They are not cheap, provide substandard card and engage in bill fraud. Stay away from this place. read more

Worst place ever! My daughter went there at 6pm in a lot of pain and felt she had a urinary tract infection. She was told to return in 2 hours, which she did. The culture confirmed it. They actually told her she may need an IV antibiotic at the emergency room in hospital but they opted to call in Macrobid to cvs in Northborough. They are so brilliant at this place that they neglected to give her a dose before she left, called in a script to a closed pharmacy and since they are now closed, she can't reach them. Their website states they care about your health, what a joke. So, she suffers all night due to your over sight. She shouldn't even have to pay for the "no service" she received. This facility IS NOT part of UMass. The outside signs are very misleading. I was told when I checked in that they did not except my insurance so I would be responsible for payment. I was confused as I had been there before and when I told her UMass takes my I insurance she said in a not so nice tone that "they are not part of UMass". I said to her that it's very misleading because even the interior sign behind the check in says UMass. Care was fine but waited way too long to be seen. At least an hour once in the room. Also, I was there with my daughter as we were both sick and they would not let us go in a room together. Will definitely go elsewhere in the future. read more

The sign says Urgent Care however, it's far from an Urgent Care. If you have an earache, sore throat, or something simple then yes maybe that's the place to go. If you have anything else. don't waste your time! The wait time is forever, especially on a weekend where there is only one physician assistant, one nurse & someone sitting at desk to check you in. Keep in mind that if you go at lunch break there's only two people in the entire building. I am baffled as to why they would call this facility an Urgent Care. I would not recommend it to anyone. Previous experience for care had been excellent, until today when the receptionist was demeaning and embarrassed a patient stating they did not except MASS Health many times and in an aggressive manner. When the patient offered to self pay, he was told that was illegal. The gentleman obliviously needed care and was not well. The patient obviously did not want to be on MASS Health and was embarrassed but, for unknown reasons to me as an observer, he needed health care. This guy was respectful and reasonable and attempted multiple times to clarify the problem. The receptionist was disrespectful and rude. Disgusting.
