All I can say is that this Plate was epic in each and every way. The Korean Fried Chicken was Super Crispy and Tasty. The Ahi Poke was Ono and those Kalbi Fries..Amazing!!! Those Crispy Crinkle Fries topped with Shreds of Kalbi were a match made in Heaven. Those Crinkle Fries really stole the show. I absolutely love Crispy Crinkle Fries when they are cooked perfectly. And of course I had to have Mac Salad with this Plate. There's a reason why Flyin' Ahi Lunch Wagon has a following. Not only is their Menu amazing but the Local Braddah taking your order is one of the nicest guys around . No matter how busy they get this guy's service and attitude is top notch. He's also very accommodating when it comes to making the Plate Lunch to your own specifications and to me that says a lot. This Plate was nothing short of spectacular and if you are in the Mililani Tech Park Area for Lunch you definitely have to check this place out. -- at Flyin' Ahi.

My FAVORITE place to get Hawaiian food on the Big Island of Hawai'i, is a little food truck called…read more"Ono Hawaiian Food". They are located in the parking lot across the downtown shopping district of Hilo (in the park down from the KTA store and almost across Sig Zane). Look for the blue tarp with the 8 seats around a plastic folding table. The blue tarp is the give away when looking for it. It's run by Hawaiians, so you know the food is ONO (delicious). LUAU SQUID - My absolute favorite is the luau squid! It's made with fresh taro leafs stewed for along time with coconut milk and cut octopus. BOMBSHADIGGIDY ONOLICOUS!!! It taste just like the old days where grandma used to use the freshest ingredients to make the family favorites during dinner. A great portion (2 cups) served hot and steaming. You can get this with either poi or rice (get the poi!!!). $7.50 for the combination. Grade: A+ PORK LAULAU - super authentic laulau (taro leafs) steamed with fatty pork, salted fish. Wrapped in taro leafs and steamed for hours. Everything melts together because of the steaming. (Side order $4.00). Eat this with the poi and you have an authentic meal and tons of memories to talk about! Super ONO!. Grade: A! KULOLO - a dessert made of freshly grated taro root, coconut milk, and shreaded coconut. The consistency comes out like a sticky pudding / mochi. Not many places can make this old-time dish anymore. Found it here at the Ono Hawaiian Food Truck and glad I ordered it. You get a 4 x 6 slice of the dessert for $4.50. Well below market value (I've purchased this for double the price at other places). Grade: B+

It could've been more flavorful, but it's not the worst burrito I ever had. Barbacoa was... interesting, to say the least. I have never had such fatty barbacoa where it was just bite after bite of fat. I think I got a bad batch, or it wasn't cooked long enough. It wasn't tender and had just... a lot of fat. The texture wasn't right and it felt like sticky mush in my mouth. Couldn't finish my barbacoa burrito due to the texture being so off. Tried picking at it with a fork and some of the fat would pull off like stringy, forgive me for this, snot. Also a bit disappointed that they don't have salsa and just hot sauce. Mouthful of Tapatio isn't the same as a quick, home made salsa. I understand this is a small business and local, and they are trying to keep costs down so some short cuts need to be made. Owner is nice though. He tries to make small talk with everyone so it does have a nice friendliness aspect. Would not recommend barbacoa. Chicken was ok. Carne asada was ok. Supporting small businesses is what keeps me coming back - if I feel like making the drive out here.

I love their regular-size Tuxedo coffee ($6.25). Their other drinks are fantastic, and they have some food options to accompany your drink. Bad: - They have limited food options, and I wish there were more options. - Business hours are not as military-friendly as Starbucks at the PX. Good: - As you can see from the company's name, everything happens without you getting out of the vehicle! - Various options of drinks you can select from! - Friendly staff with delicious coffee! Conclusion: Coffee and energy drinks are in our blood, and we cannot operate without them. The line may look long, but they serve quickly. One thing to remember is that you may want to go somewhere else to grab some food.
