My gf and I were rolling thru town gonna hit up a bfast stop for kalua benedicts but saw the Pastele plate sign on the side of the road. Made a quick decision and a quick turn into the lot! Greeted with aloha as I walked up, chose the pastele stew and a pastele plate with gandule rice! Hoooo to say the least we were stoked to choose Brezee's, everything was ONOOOOOlicious!! (taste great) the one item we were surprised by was the bacalomi, never had it that way before and it was a hit! Had to go back and grab another!! Stop by if you in the area, you won't be disappointed

Got to talk story a little bit too and told her how we stumbled upon her on our food adventure today. My husband, friend (Pikake) and I had the Lautele plate and ordered some Lautele ala cart. Gotta say...... for our first time trying Lautele, it was so GOOOOD!! Gundule rice was the best I've had EVER! It was not soggy which I dont like, it was PERFECT! THANK YOU again for delivering to us in Kapolei. We will be seeing you again!!

First, you need to know that this business does not have a brick and mortar location. You are able to purchase items from their menu at craft fairs and farmer's market . However, they do offer catering. The contact number can be found on her business IG which is shantells_cocina. Shantell was extremely communicative via text. She informed me that my order would be $95 before tax because she sells 5 pasteles for $35 and a small pan of gandule rice for $60. We agreed on a location that was convenient for me. She. met meet at a public place with freshly made gandule rice and pasteles. My family and I loved every bit of her food and everything was mopped in 2 days. Thank you Shantell for doing business with me at the last minute. Highly recommend Shantell's Cocina for your catering needs!

Wow! Delicious and unique flavors! And the sweetest business owner…read more Ally's Cocina is a hidden gem, woman-owned Venezuelan food truck, tucked in at the Kauai Mini Golf. It's located on the patio. Order food from Ally's, and then while you wait, order drinks at the Mini Golf Cafe, across the patio. Four of us ordered way too much but enjoyed it all. Our fave items: -King Kong Arepa with chicken (chicken, black beans, avocado, fried egg, feta, and Ally's cilantro-garlic sauce (we ordered this fresh, flavorful sauce on the side)) -King Kong Arepa with pork -Cachapa The arepas are substantially stuffed so I'd probably share one next time. Everything is 100% gluten-free, and most items can be made dairy-free if needed. Yum! Mahalo Ally!

They came blistering hot off the flat top, perfectly seasoned, and filled generously. They were the kind of dish that made me want to come back, so I was excited to return recently. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a big letdown. I'm not sure if the quality has slipped or if I just caught them on a bad day, since recent reviews are still very positive, but what I was served this time was nowhere near the same level. I ordered the chicken and avocado arepa, the slow roasted pork arepa, and a side of beans and rice. The beans were flavorful and well seasoned, but the rice was just plain white rice. Both arepas were generously filled, but the fillings and the bread itself were disappointing. The chicken was barely warm, dry, and completely unseasoned. The pork was hotter but not very tender, with a flavor that didn't stand out, and the cheddar cheese inside wasn't even fully melted. The biggest problem, though, was the arepas themselves. Instead of coming out hot and crispy like before, they tasted like they had been sitting out. They were barely warm, bland, and without the crispness that made them so memorable on my first visit. Seating is outdoors under a large shared shade structure with plenty of tables for Ally's, the bar, and a nearby pizza truck. Parking is easy with a large lot, which makes the setup convenient. Overall I left disappointed, especially since my first visit was so good. I hope this was just an off day, because Ally's Cocina can clearly deliver great food when everything is on point, but my most recent experience fell short.

Saw a food truck at Eat the Street that I've never seen around Yelp so I decided to give it a…read moretry...Asian fused with Peruvian? Talk about interesting. This Eat the Street was pork and their main pork dish was Asado...unfortunately they ran out around 7pm when I got there, so I didn't get any pork. Lame. Anyways, onto the food! I decided to go with their Chicken Saltana. I honestly didn't read the description, but I remember that I wanted something reasonably cheap and somewhat healthy. Can't really go wrong with chicken, peppers, onions, salad and rice. I pride myself on only rating places on their food, unless their service or something else is just absolutely horrendously terrible. But I would like to mention that the wait for my plate was about 35 minutes...standing...in a crowded parking lot...hungry...and tired. I expected more from a food truck, I mean come on now, this isn't a sit down restaurant, you gotta get the order and make it quick and good. At least the live music was good and the moon was quite nice. Opening my plate, I see a pretty nice plate of food. Reasonable amount of chicken and peppers and onions, generous servings of rice and salad, and a little container of what appeared to be dressing. It was all spiced with what I assumed to be Peruvian spices and also cilantro and a sweet oil based sauce used to cover the chicken and veggies and rice. The chicken looked a little plain, but the sweet sauce and veggies and cilantro really went well with the juicy chicken and the Peruvian rice (Twas a little crispy/hard, but very tasty) was pretty delicious. However, the salad was just....bleh...The veggies were fine, but the dressing was basically salt incarnate...and I'm 80% sure I detected a hint of fish, which was not good at all. For $8.90 though...not bad for everything. Overall, pretty okay meal. Without the salad, I'd give it 3.5 stars. Not bad, but nothing too spectacular. I must remember to try the other trucks at Eat the Street next time, I didn't check Yelp to see which trucks were good at the event...and I believe it cost me this time. Oh well...there is always next time.
