They have a second location in the px parking lot on Schofield Barracks heading towards the commissary. Still LOVE their food and their service! These ladies are awesome.

I had the jerk chicken and sausage plate! The sausage is amazing!

The sausage and rice was amazing. My only complaint was my fried plantains were hard and over cooked. I don't know if it was because it was at the end of lunch rush but they were inedible.

Yall sung to my heart with this food, and won my soul.

The pulled pork is flavorful and tender, gandule rice is decent, no beans available (sad), garlic tostones are good, the empanadas are killer!!

Probably one of the most well-known and popular shrimp trucks in Hawaii, so when my girlfriend…read morefirst time on the island, we had to go so she could see what the hype is. We got there really early before the opened and we were second in line. We shared a plate of their scampi with a side of their hot sauce. I learned this from the last time because as you peel the shrimp, dipping it into their hot sauce is the move. Going the other way around was way messier. People say their rice is mushy, but that wasn't the case today. Honestly, if I could, I'd skip the rice and go all mac salad. The mac salad was pretty tasty and perfect to break up all the garlic. While I've been here multiple times, I do find it to be good. Would I wait in a long line for it though, probably not. It's a spot I'd classify as a tourist trap, but at least the food backs it up. I think in comparison to what I get in California, it's a few steps above what we get on the mainland. I think if you are planning on getting here, do it early to avoid the rushes.

Once spots started opening up, we paid the $2 parking fee and joined the lines. Heads up, the long line on the right is usually for pickup, while the shorter line on the left is for ordering. We went with the famous Shrimp Scampi along with a side of mac salad. Shrimp Scampi (4/5): Easily lived up to the hype. The shrimp were juicy and easy to peel, and each bite was loaded with buttery lemon flavor and tons of crispy garlic. The rice soaked up the sauce really well, though there was honestly so much butter and oil leftover afterward that it pooled at the bottom of the plate. Still incredibly flavorful overall. Mac Salad (4/5): Creamy without feeling too heavy and generously portioned. A solid side that balanced out the richness of the shrimp. Bathrooms are located upstairs near the gift shop, and there's also a washing sink near the exit, which definitely comes in handy after peeling shrimp. Overall, a fun and iconic North Shore stop that absolutely feels worth trying at least once. Glad we checked it out to see if it lived up to the hype.

They are located in the parking lot across the downtown shopping district of Hilo (in the park down from the KTA store and almost across Sig Zane). Look for the blue tarp with the 8 seats around a plastic folding table. The blue tarp is the give away when looking for it. It's run by Hawaiians, so you know the food is ONO (delicious). LUAU SQUID - My absolute favorite is the luau squid! It's made with fresh taro leafs stewed for along time with coconut milk and cut octopus. BOMBSHADIGGIDY ONOLICOUS!!! It taste just like the old days where grandma used to use the freshest ingredients to make the family favorites during dinner. A great portion (2 cups) served hot and steaming. You can get this with either poi or rice (get the poi!!!). $7.50 for the combination. Grade: A+ PORK LAULAU - super authentic laulau (taro leafs) steamed with fatty pork, salted fish. Wrapped in taro leafs and steamed for hours. Everything melts together because of the steaming. (Side order $4.00). Eat this with the poi and you have an authentic meal and tons of memories to talk about! Super ONO!. Grade: A! KULOLO - a dessert made of freshly grated taro root, coconut milk, and shreaded coconut. The consistency comes out like a sticky pudding / mochi. Not many places can make this old-time dish anymore. Found it here at the Ono Hawaiian Food Truck and glad I ordered it. You get a 4 x 6 slice of the dessert for $4.50. Well below market value (I've purchased this for double the price at other places). Grade: B+
