However, I was surprised to learn that an oxtail meal costing more than $30 only included the meat, rice and peas, and one additional side. Any other side was an extra charge. Most Jamaican restaurants I have visited include rice, meat, and two sides, especially at that price point. The container was also quite small for the amount being charged. After adding a beef patty and a drink for my son, the total came to more than $40. Unfortunately, the taste and portion size did not justify the price. I have had much better oxtails from another nearby restaurant that provides a larger portion and two sides for a better value. What disappointed me most was the customer service. The woman's attitude and demeanor changed when I asked questions about the pricing, portions, and sides. As a paying customer, I should be able to ask reasonable questions without being made to feel rushed or as though I am causing a problem.
