The French toast is perfectly buttery! And the hashbrowns are crispy and salty!! What more could you ask for from a diner lol. Free refills on coffee and the server immediately brought a pot out to our booth when we ordered. I would highly recommend stopping on your road trip!

Nick actually started out selling his breads out of several area Farmer's Markets, and now offers his products at the Lakefield Store and in other area locations. I was raised on Wonder Bread and it did help build my strong body 12 ways. But these days, there is a lot of great homemade bread out there, of which living in the greater Berkeley area keeps Family expectations high. I picked up a loaf and one of their coffee cakes at the Market Community Co-op in Spirit Lake (Iowa). Both were a huge hit at the Cabin, as a few of our breakfasts and lunches were made even more enjoyable. We'll come here before the big grocery stores the next time we're in town.

I love that they have Dutch imports, including the chocolate letters and other treats around Christmas. They have black licorice year-round. They are known for almond patties, which are flaky, buttery pockets filled with almond paste. You can buy these frozen to bake at home or fresh. They also have delicious cinnamon rolls and very pretty frosted cookies and cakes. I have fond memories of this bakery and am glad to see it's thriving and now even ships its baked goods!

Thus far I've had San Francisco sourdough, buckwheat cranberry bread, cappuccino, café au lait and the house coffee. Both breads have had wonderfully crusty exteriors with just the right amount of chewiness and moistness on the interior. The sour dough was as good as any I have ever had - and I worked in San Francisco for a while. The coffee drinks have been perfect. The display case is full of gorgeous desserts, croissants, french macaroons, and more. The bread display behind had numerous types of breads. Not every kind of bread is made each day. I think that the sour dough and baguettes are made fresh every day. This place is an immediate favorite of mine. I can't believe there are not long lines - but maybe that will yet come. Please visit while it is still relatively unknown. This place should be a massive success! I want it to thrive and grow! The only downside thus far is that I do not yet have a line item in my budget for how much I would like to buy here.

Not too far from my freshly roasted coffee beans cup of coffee I have before heading out the door in the morning. The breads are great too, there are new varieties baked everyday. I did have one loaf which was under baked or perhaps not left long enough to let the gluten set. Speaking of gluten, they do not have any gluten free bread yet, but I'm sure that one will come along shortly. All in all a wonderful addition to the great city of Hull!
