The facility is impressively clean and well cared for. The only thing more impressive is how friendly and caring the staff if. They quickly got to know us and our dogs by name and always call the day after a visit to check on the boys. Dr. Shuman is who we always see and we love him as do our 2 dogs. He is great with them and goes above and beyond to keep the visit a positive experience. He truly cares about the guys and gives them a through exam and always takes his time with them. We've had a few "emergencies" and even a surgery at their office due to a certain "rock hound" eating a rock and obstructing. They took great care of our boy and we always felt we could call or run back if we had to. The cost of service isn't the cheapest in town, but it isn't the most expensive either. Based on the service, staff and technology they employ it's a great value. I wish they had emergency hours but I do understand that is whole other level of costs and staffing so I don't fault them at all. If you need someone you can trust to care for your fur family give them a call.

I am deeply disappointed by the service we received at this veterinary clinic. Despite being…read morerecommended by family, our experience was nothing short of a nightmare. According to the vet our dog needed a sonogram prior to being neutered. I took my dog in two weeks ago, unrelated to the surgery, to update his shots which at no point was there any discussion of the surgery or the sonogram ESPECIALLY the cost of it all. Throughout the entire process, there was zero transparency about costs with the tech Jay. We went ahead and scheduled the sonogram and still no disclosure about costs were mentioned. When my mother-in-law arrived at the sonogram appointment she asked what the cost of the sonogram and surgery were going to be. We decided to postpone the sonogram due to uncertainty about the costs. This decision triggered an unexpectedly hostile reaction from Jay, one of their technicians. His behavior was shocking and unprofessional. Instead of addressing our concerns calmly, he became irate and threatened us with a $175 cancellation fee, which was never mentioned beforehand. To make matters worse, he rudely instructed my mother-in-law for us not to return to the practice and he would send us the bill. This kind of treatment is utterly unacceptable, especially when dealing with beloved pets. I requested a call from the vet to clarify the situation and never received a call back. Jay falsely claimed to have discussed the costs with me during the earlier appointment which was a blatant lie. The lack of transparency, coupled with Jay's unprofessional behavior, has shattered our trust in this clinic. I would strongly advise against trusting him with the care of any animals. His conduct reflects poorly on their commitment to animal welfare and customer service. Update* received a call back from Jay 3 days later (not the doctors themselves) and he refused to put me through to speak to the doctor. He said "that's not going to happen, I'm the office manager here." I am appalled and disgusted by this situation and behavior. He took no accountability for how he treated my mother-in-law and AGAIN fabricated a conversation we never had so that he wasn't at fault for not disclosing the price of my dogs surgery. If you care about your animals I would highly suggest STAYING AWAY.

She was always congested, her nose would always bleed, losing weight rapidly, no more energry and so much more. Supposably they did a bunch of tests and even surgery which costed me over $1,000 on one visit. They said nothing is wrong with my cat.... within the last month or so my 12lb cat who loves to eat wouldn't touch any type of food. She lost 7-8lbs within the last 3 weeks. Also my cat had a cut that looked infected in the middle of her forehead which the vet said was probably a cut from my other cats. They still claim there is nothing wrong with my cat. Today I took my cat to an emergency vet and they diagnosed her with a tooth infection and cancer saying the spot in the middle of her forehead is actually the cancer eating her bones from the inside out. Now today after thousands of dollars spent at Smithtown Animal Hospital, I had to put my loving, sweet, angel cat down.... I am so disgusted with Smithtown Animal Hospital.
