It was determined that she needed long term care & was moved from the "rehab" floor to the "residential" floor. I wasn't notified of this change. My mother's room is nothing but a low budget hospital room with a cabinet & small dresser. One for her, one for her roommate. There's no chair(s) for a visitor & the t.v is questionable. She doesn't even have a phone. My mother was taken to the hospital to have her feeding tube removed, a 24hr trip that turned into a week. Again, I wasn't informed! Some of the staff is great, but they can only do so much. Management is changing often so the consistency sucks & you never know who to talk to. For the money my mother's being charged things should be much better.

When i Called my cousin I could tell she was slurring her words and I told her I thought she had a stroke to notify the nurse she said they would answer the bell. couldnt get her that night so I called the nurse station the next day. they said she was in the day room with other patients and was fine. Next day she was in medical center she did have a stroke and they didn't Notice for over 24 hours. When you call the nurse station they leave you on hold for over 18 mins (I just hung up). Trying to find the company that owns them IT IS NOT ALARIS HEALTH. They just license the name from them. My cousin has often been thirsty and cannot get water. The care quality is below bare minimun. There is so much more to say about them. It doesn't change because they keep changing owners.

To a visitors eye, it would be as if the entire Pennsylvania Amish country came to Brooklyn, minus the horse drawn buggies. My neighbor, Mr. Chen, a 30 year member of our tightly knit Forest Hills street took ill four months ago, and I had slight reservations (mixed emotions) about going to see him even though we spent a lot of time together over the years. A stroke hit him quite hard and I was told that it severely hampered his memory, that he does not speak and that he mostly confined to rolling chairs and mechanical beds. Nursing homes always feel like Gods waiting room to me, they sadden me as the next step seems so near. Attached tubes to veiny bodies, hollowed screams down long halls and the empty eyes fluttering about are all abound. Bedford is smaller in scale, attendees and health care workers are on the go, room to room, activity to meals, smiles beaming when they look up to greet you. I found this to be the continuous theme from my arrival to my departure and the end result? Peaceful minds, content eyes, friends and family's gratitude. (Review was taken down Oct. 8th and after calling Yelp, they told me to re-post it)

Greetings! Words cannot describe the great care given to me by this center. It all started when I…read morebroke my leg in three places this March, landed in hospital(Cornell Weill which was phenomenal care), was recommended to this center. After so much meds, I was very nervous, I never even visited a center like this before, but no worries, my anxieties were eased by ALL the staff at this center! Ok, here it goes: Intake: smooth and flexible, I was in a priv room, Brandon greeted me at the front desk, and was friendly and reassuring, he offered me laundry services up front, made the arrival easy/smooth. Nurses Aids: The best care for the 3rd floor, Jean, Patricia, Ms. Baxter Margaret, and ALL the aides could not be more compassionate, very attentitive to our needs, and cleanliness. Response time when ringing was immediate. The kindness is unparalleled. Housekeeping: Desmond/ crew kept the rooms, all areas, spotless, every vent was cleaned, all floors shined, all bathrooms were impecably cleaned with germ killing agents that were safe. Linens, blankets were changed DAILY, beds were made while you ate or went to therapy. HOTEL SERVICE! Nurses: on top of their game! They medicated according to orders, when I felt off, they would address meds immediately , worked with docs to update notes asap, KINDNESS is the key word, sympathetic to pain and discomfort and advised where allowed/necessary. Haisley, Danielle, D.J. and Winston were like family! Doctors and nurse practitioners: ALSO on their game, and Ignatius the nurse pract. for our floor did his rounds and addressed all concerns with professionalism and again, kindness. Physcial and OT : Again it could not be better, they really encouraged me to meet my goals so i could go home...especially, Maria, Billie, and Alice really got me moving and were key to help me heal faster, my doctor even responded that she was impressed with my progress. If I said "I can't" they kindly replied "YES YOU CAN!" Social programming: to keep my spirits up, Brandon and Brian made it fun during activities, yes , even during Bingo, they are true positive motivators and kept my positivity flowing! I love you guys! Management: Thank you Clarissa and Rachel for listening to me, Clarissa you are a true leader, calm, and a great listener. Psychology/Psychiatry: Thank you Anthony for listening to my angst when I got there, and I look forward to future sessions, THE THIRD FLOOR ROCKS! Sorry, my photos wont load, there is too many of them , good ones! Readers, if you have to go to rehab in NYC, this is it! I give this more than 5 STARS!

Hard to believe that Hospital for Special Surgery, the finest orthopedic hospital in the world,…read moresends its patients for rehab to Mary Manning Walsh, where patients receive inadequate and incompetent care. The administrative staff is generally good, as are the nurses and, the PTs. ( Especially Yolanda) However, the caretakers and aides, save for a few, lack the tiniest bit of compassion and/or interest in the patients' welfare or comfort. They are so nasty that no amount of sensitivity training could help. This is such culture shock coming from HSS where the care and kindness is five star quality. I was left to fend for myself for hours on end when I developed diarrhea and chills and could barely get myself to the bathroom. A diaper was tossed to me, but no one came to follow up and check on me. When I rang the bell and asked for help putting my leg up on the bed, which was painful from knee replacement surgery, I was told " she showed you how to do it" before reluctantly helping me. I was told the night before my discharge that an aide, who was one of the few kind individuals there, would help bathe me and wash my hair before my discharge that morning. When she didn't show up, a different aide came in and told me that I would not be getting bathed because I had gotten bathed theday before! She seemed to really enjoy telling me that! Eventually, I was helped with bathing by the kind aide. A walker was ordered for me for my day of discharge. I had only used a walker during my weeklong stay. When my walker hadn't arrived 15 minutes before my Ambulette was set to come, I was informed that I would not be getting a walker because I got one in 2023! I was discharged shakily with a cane that I had not practiced with at all. And last, but not least, was the horrendous, vile, unhealthy food that was served. Inedible! After my week stay at Mary Manning, I felt broken.

Candidates whose nationality is from a country outside the United States are hired more quickly than law-abiding American citizens. The hiring staff prioritize hiring West Indian, Caribbean, African-born, and Hispanic individuals over American citizens who were born in the United States and speak and understand English. At least 86 percent of the staff are not of American origin. The hiring department discriminates against American applicants. ArchCare is more concerned about the money they receive from the patient than the actual medical care given. The medical staff provide the bare minimum if they even do that. I wouldn't let a sick stray dog be cared for at ArchCare because it would mostly die in the hands of these people. The management staff, Doctors, Nurses and CNA's only care about their paychecks. If you're looking for a place to be mistreated & to die go to an ArchCare living facility.
