I would give no stars if I could. Terrible customer service. I had been bringing my car there for about 18 months and service was reasonable good at that time. They would make mistakes now and then, but they always made things right. Until I took my car there in July 2018. I was getting ready for a big road trip, I had the oil changed and I needed an alignment and they did that, a few days later I had a transmission problem and took it in again. I was concerned that the repair was beyond their scope of service, but they assured me they could do it, as was only 3rd gear that needed to be rebuilt. I was quoted a price of $1300. 2 weeks later the car was ready, the price?? just over $1900.. they claimed that the entire transmission needed to be rebuilt. They did not at any time during that period contact me to let me know this. I had someone else pick up the car and drive it to the destination. The car was driven approx 1100 miles. Upon looking at the car I could see the tires were severely damaged. The interior passenger side and drivers side mats had black grease on them. I took it to a garage the next day to have it looked at. The first thing they said was. it looks like it needs an alignment. I related to them that one had recently been done.. further examination of the car revealed that the jam nuts had not been tightened after the alignment, this was the cause of the damage to the tires. I was now looking at another $1600 in expenses to replace the damaged tires, do another alignment and fix 2 seals that were leaking on the transmission. Theses seals were not leaking prior to the work being done on my transmission. I contacted John at Carl Pelt and Sons to discuss the problem and John advised me that he would look into it and call me back.. which he did not, I called again and John indicated that a check had been sent to me, didn't I get it? I asked him where the check had been sent, he said he would have to call me back. I called back several time and John kept saying he had to check with the Secretary.. who was not in. I sent emails asking for a copy of the invoice as they never provided the original and some sort of reimbursement for the extra expenses I was incurring because of the sloppy workmanship. I Never expected to them to reimburse me for all of the expense. I do understand that tires wear out, but those tires had only 9000 K on them. I was put in a position of replacing them because of a mistake made by one of their employees. I had to pay someone else to fix the leaks and do another alignment. Really disappointed in they way they treated me. My husband and I had both been taking our vehicles there for service and repairs.
