We never leave without a handful of information on all the important topics our son will be experiencing between visits! If somebody else set-up shop in Carlisle they would be swamped with patients within a week. I will never forget when we waited 3 hours for our newborn's first appointment. Yes, 3 hours in a freezing cold waiting room with a newborn. You are probably saying to yourself that there was a very good explanation for that and in fact there was! There were two doctors on that morning and one of the two doctors was sick (and contagious according to her) so only one Dr was seeing newborns. That other Dr, the contagious one, was only seeing sick kids because, as we all know, all germs are the same so she couldn't possibly have infected kids that already have weakened immune systems. If you really want to take your children to a Dr that is OK seeing sick kids while she is contagious then more power to you and good luck to your children.

They have sick hours and 2 offices that they make a lot of extra appointments now to try and make as much room for everyone that they can. We have a main physician we see, but we've also seen others and we've had no issues with any of them. My kids love them, we love them, and we still recommend them to others. Are they 100% perfect? no. Is anywhere? no. They're HUMAN. The grass is greener where you water it.

As someone who chooses to self-pay rather than pay extremely high monthly premiums for a family plan, this was really frustrating. With recent changes, many families no longer qualify for subsidies and are facing very expensive insurance options, so choosing to self-pay is becoming more common. Because of that, it would be really helpful to see more practices offer options for families who are willing and able to pay directly for care. I was also told vaccines are too expensive without insurance, which felt a bit assumptive. Many self-pay families understand the costs and are prepared for them. Sharing this so other parents who are self-pay are aware before reaching out.
