I have genuinely lost track of how many times I've been here, and I can't believe how I still haven't written a review! I genuinely think this place has the most underrated & DELICIOUS gelato in the GTA. This is also coming from someone who has tried the most popular spots downtown & elsewhere. The quality is unmatched, pricing per portion is reasonable, and half of their flavors rotate according to what's in season so it's hard to get bored! Dairy & non dairy options are available as well. The texture is smooth, creamy, not overly sweet, and made in-house with high quality ingredients you can taste. You can sample max 2 flavors & also buy their products pre-portioned to take home or give as a gift. In my opinion they've got the best TRUE pistachio gelato of you're into that. Some notable flavors I've tried that I highly recommend are yogurt, yuzu cheesecake, blueberry, and asian pear. I also love that they give you a little waffle cone shard if you order a cup. read more

Their gelato is a smidge better than average BUT: They have a weird "rule" about selling gelato cups WITHOUT LIDS. Their rationale is that it's a grab and eat "model". In the winter too? That said, they DO have all the (lidded) flavours in a freezer which in my opinion changes the texture of gelato to hard instead of smooth. It's not a bad little shop, they carry a good variety of product including Dubai chocolate, fig, walnut and ricotta and the usual gelato offerings such as limone and mango. Service was extremely helpful and courteous. read more

Damn. Who knew I can get really good gelato in the heart of Yonge and Finch! Since opening their doors in the Yonge North York community, Gelato North brings East Meets West influences with traditional Italian gelato techniques meeting the flavours of Korean cuisine! From the traditional flavours of Chocolate and Strawberry Gelato, you should also add Yuzu Cheesecake and Injeolmi to your gelato cone/cup as it's a fun and great way to stay cool and fresh for the summer! Gelato shop! Which gelato you like? Both diary and non dairy are good. I like dark chocolate. The lady let me tried tiramisu and Ferrari chocolate and I still like chocolate. The other one I tried is yuzu ice cream with pieces of yuzu inside. Next time I will try the non diary yuzu and mango. It would be great in summer to cool down. The place is small but good for the type of shop. You may missed it as it is really small and it is closed to BMO. It is mainly for takeout and no chairs. Parking only available on the street. read more

A small gelato shop that has constant patrons coming and going. We stopped by after dinner and grabbed a small cup of Yuzu cheesecake gelato. I liked the bright flavours of the yuzu, which was perfect even on full stomach. Good quality gelato, perfect for a sweet treat. read more

Place is busy and I understand why! They had a great selection of asian gelato flavors to choose from. I couldn't resist the Vietnamese coffee flavor and my bestie got the yuzu cheesecake. Vietnamese coffee was rich, strong in flavor, and tasted like the real deal. The yuzu cheesecake was bright, citrusy, and creamy. We love that they also have a dairy-free selection too! read more

The gelato was good and they allow samples. I got thw ferro dubai chocolate and pistachio. I enjoyed the pistachio and dubai and ferro was okay. The price was around $8 and they have many options. Service is nice and friendly and helpful. I recommend stopping by if you are looking for a sweet treat read more

A little gelato shop who makes their gelato in house every morning! My gf and I don't have a big sweet tooth but/so this gelato is perfect for us. Not too sweet with super creamy texture. The pistachio gelato tasted REAL! The macchiato was delicious too! Both compliment each other if you're looking for a combo. I'll definitely be back to try other flavors! I recommend trying a flavor, theyll give you a sample spoon. Keep that spoon and reuse it when you get your scoops! They'll be happy and you'll feel good you didn't have to waste another spoon. read more

I've been waiting for this gelato store to open during my walks. The menu is divided into gelato, dairy free and vegan flavours. They allow you to sample a maximum of two flavours. I've tried the smashed chocolate chips and the Ferrero Rocher. Whereas my hubby tried the pear and Pina colada. For me, I decided to get a small scoop of Ferrero Rocher in a cup, it came with a waffle and it was delicious. As for him, they have a small scale to measure his two scoops. He chose the medium scoop and two flavours-pear and pina colado. The pear was so refreshing and everything is made in house! Perfect timing to open just before summer and a good spot for me to easily access some tasty gelato. read more

Saw this place from across the street after having lunch with a co-worker. We decided to go in. The store isn't very large but it was bright & clean. There was only 1 person behind the counter. I got a taste of the Not Nutella dairy free. But ended up getting the hazelnut flavour in a cup. It was delicious. The cup is a good size & only cost me $6. My co-worker got the cherry cheesecake in a cone & that was $7. I'd like to come back & try more flavours. I wish they had the black sesame in dairy free flavour but oh well. Next time I think I'll try Lychee dairy free. read more

During the last mini heat wave I was told to go try this Gelato place just south of Yonge and Finch. I looked up the place and saw they had Dairy free items (yes lactose intolerant now - long story) so I definitely had to check them out. Lots of great options for everyone and I decided to go for the Watermelon flavour on a waffle cone. One word fantastic! I went for just one scoop which was plenty. The flavour was perfect. Great flavour not too sweet. Very refreshing on that hot day. I will definitely be returning to try the multiple flavours this summer, hopefully it's a hot one! read more

Great gelato spot near Yonge/Finch! The inside is small and it's take out only, though they have a nice "Instagram" wall with a nice neon sign. They have a wide variety of dairy and vegan flavours, including some Asian-inspired flavours such as green tea latte and black sesame. All the flavours I've tried have been really tasty. This review is just for the following flavors. I did not go inside the shop as I had to stay in the car with our baby, but according to my husband, it is nice and neat inside. I got black sesame and green tea, and my husband got red velvet and key lime. Both green tea and black sesame had nice deep (and bold) flavor and they were not overly sweet at all. Actually, if you just want a mild, "hint' of flavours, these are not for you, especially the black sesame one. Black sesame flavor was so strong that I couldn't taste the green tea if they were mixed together. But that's the way I like it so I overall really enjoyed both flavors. I wouldn't mind getting them again in the future. I think key lime was really good as well. Nice citrus flavor and refreshing on a hot summer day. Red velvet, however, was not as good as I hoped. The cream cheese flavored bits were nice mix in but the "red velvet" part was mostly cookie dough flavor. Don't get me wrong-- we still finished everything clean, but just saying the red velvet was just not as good as the other flavors we got. Apparently they had a lot of choices in terms of flavors, so I am looking forward to going back and try different ones. We got two cups, two flavors each, with total of $16. Pretty standard pricing. Bottom line is that both my husband and I recommend this place! read more

Stopped by Gelato North for a refreshing treat and really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and happy to let us sample a few flavours before we decided. The gelato was creamy and full of flavour. The shop itself is on the smaller side, but there's a table outside where you can sit and enjoy your gelato. A nice little spot if you're in the area and craving dessert. read more

I think both the black sesame and milk tea had intense flavor but they aren't creamy enough and too sweet to my liking. I would say we came at a pretty good time, we were able to wait in line inside but a couple minutes after there was a line waiting outside. They had alot of interesting flavors to choose from. Originally we wanted two scoops but I was stuck between two flavors I really wanted to try, so we got three scoops haha. We got the Stracciatella, Black Sesame, and Cheese Lover's. The girl taking our order was very friendly and helpful. And upon tasting their gelato for the first time, wow. This is hands down one of the best gelatos I've ever had. It was really everything I could've wanted in a gelato: great consistency, smooth, creamy, very flavorful. And of course it nailed the sweet but not too sweet level. The portion size was perfect for us and I like the little vanilla waffle cracker they added on top. The space inside had a couple tables to eat at, but it was packed once we got our gelato. There wasn't a single empty table in sight so we just walked outside and ate it there. There's a reason why there is always a line at this place and it's not hard to see why. It's great gelato, but I'm not sure I'd wait in one of the really long lines it sometimes gets. If the wait isn't too bad though, it's definitely worth a stop.
