First the lady that served us seemed like she did a line before she came out, then I ordered queso it tasted like old ass offbrand, Velveeta, my friends meal wasn't as bad as mine, but both of our plates were extremely hot and seemed like the meal had just been sitting back there waiting to be served to us because it took about five minutes for them to bring out our food, but my rice tasted cold. then at the end, this girl brought me out of container to take my queso in and insisted on me taking it and asked if I needed another container when I declined and tried pushing me to take it. I 100% declined that again because of how nasty it was all in all the waiter was too pushy and strange. The food was nasty and mind you at the end of this it was all $50 for this despicable food. Writing as the evening progresses... we had a reservation at 6PM for 6 people. No wait to be seated, served chips and salsa immediately. Salsa was very good, fresh chunky with just the right bite! Chips were also fresh and crispy. However, drink orders were not taken. 15 minutes in, I went and asked for a waitperson. One came right away, orders taken and drinks served quickly. I got the Strawberry Lemonade, it was superb! All the food came out quickly. Both the portions and quality of the fajitas were good. The chicken piccata was great. We ate at Carlos O'Kelly's last night and I want to commend our server, James for great service. The bar area was swamped and a drink was slow coming out. James made sure he checked in with us. He brought us extra chips and communicated without throwing any coworkers under the bus. It wasn't like we were the only table James had as the restaurant was pretty busy. The last few years has inspired me to be more patient at restaurants and give a little understanding to short staffing and new employees. That being said, James' service was outstanding by any measure. Thanks! read more

So, let me start off by saying that it's been about three years since I've been to a Carlos O'Kelly's restaurant. The menu has changed and the quality has gone down, a lot. Nearly all of the menu options contain chicken, they have no pork and only three or four items that contain beef. The queso is Velveeta, sorry but I can recognize that taste anywhere, with, what i can only guess as salsa mixed in. Thanks, but I can make Velveeta and Rotel dip at home that's miles above that. Remember I said the quality has gone down. The meals my family ordered were, sad. Sorry but ordering a premade meal that's been reheated is something I don't want when paying $10-12 per plate, especially when that food is bland and runny because, I can only guess here, but it was reheated from frozen. So I assume there are no cooks in the kitchen, only preppers and people that rotate dishes in and out of the microwave / oven / salamander. TLDR; go to taco bell, they at least assemble the food after you order it, and it tastes better (sorry, but it's true). read more

I am from Utah and I have family out here so every time we stop it's a MUST that we eat out at Carlos O'Kelly's! I love their burritos and enchiladas! They have a great menu and the waiters/waitresses are extremely friendly, and very prompt! Can't rave enough about this place! read more

I would like to give your managers and employees from your Hutchinson facility who worked my daughters wedding venue on October 2nd - 5 stars!! They got everything I wanted and set it up just right! People were really impressed and happy to have the chips & salsa on the tables while they waited for post-nuptial photos to be taken. They set up for the buffet, brought all of the extras, and were attentive servers and hosts for over 200 people. It was a hit! Big thanks to all! read more

My boyfriend and I visited last weekend and a little redhead waited on us. She was very rude, often walking by without checking on us. It was 10 minutes before she bothered to get our drink order and by that time we were ready to order our meal. When she finally brought out our food, it was cold. Poor food and worse service. There are better deals at authentic Mexican restaurants in town, such as Mi Tierra, where they value their customers. read more

I was just cruising through town and decided to check out Carlos O'Kellys's. I'm glad I did. This place has freshly made, warm corn tortillas and fresh guacamole. Salsa was homemade and tasted really good. Not too spicey. They have a gluten free and vegan menu with many items to choose from. Interior looks nicely updated and very friendly staff. Good dining experience the food was very tasty, service was good, and brews were cold. Carlos O Kelly serves a Tex Mex style of food, at least that's how I would classify it, and they do a good job. So it's a different style of cooking vs the Mom and Pop Mexican restaurants. Definitely worth a try. read more

Walked in party of 3 and there was a 25 minute wait, 5 tables were open. There were never less than 5 tables open our entire wait time. 4 tables never had anyone at them. And at one point I counted 8 tables open. Only about 2-3 employees we're actively working. Should have been less than 10 minute wait. read more

A nice balance between an independent establishment and tex-mex chain restaurant. The building is a but older and tired, however, our server was very courteous and effective, the menu had a great variety of choices, the flavors were very good and the prices were reasonable. My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time recently. The waiter was new but did a professional job accommodating us for his mistakes. The food was ok, but we loved the chips and salsa the most. We'd try it again but order different things this time. I like that they have a variety of options for sides. read more
