    Biscuits and "gravy"

Avoid at all costs. They can't figure out how to get the correct order or how to get it to you within 20 minutes. Place is joke. Below is my last attempt. This was supposed to be biscuits and gravy.

If you have plenty of time to wait on your order this is your place. Food is good but wait is substantial!

The Bird and Bison, according to their Instagram info is "An Indigenous/modern kitchen that…read moreutilizes local, fresh ingredients to create signature dishes." That's cool, but "Bison" is the word. As soon as I saw Bison Burgers listed on the menu, we were in the car and gone. Less than an hour later, Simone greeted us as we walked in. I said I know what we want. "Two Bison Burgers (medium rare, the only way to eat bison meat), Two orders of fries and Two Pepsis. The order is in and we grab a chair. The burgers were excellent. A large Bison patty topped with caramelized onions, bacon jam and with all the salad fixin's you would expect on a regular hamburger. It really was a delicious burger. However, I prefer the sweet, mild taste of Bison over beef, not covered up with any condiments. So, next time no onions or bacon jam. The fries were thin sliced from fresh potatoes. Fresh tasting, but unfortunately a little flaccid as fresh cut fries can be if they are not properly rinsed and blanched first. If you are expecting crispy fries, these won't work for you. Order a different side. Back to Simone. This little lady is high energy, very friendly and does a fantastic job representing the business. She is a rabid OU fan and today was the big game against Texas. She was going wild listening to the close game. She made the visit to The Bird and Bison as pleasurable as the food. Drop by and say hi! The cook came out to deliver plates to three ladies sitting a few tables over. I flagged him down to ask about the Bison meat. According to him it is 100% Bison, not blended with beef. That is what I was hoping to hear. I asked about the origin. He seemed pretty sure the owner purchases the processed Bison meat from Native American raised livestock. That's even better and would match the restaurants mission. Check out the cool art displayed throughout the small inside dining area. Outside is a large comfortable dining area, that is well shaded. This month would be the perfect time to enjoy it with the beautiful fall days we are having. Eat More Bison!

Everything was well prepared, a little greasy but expected at a diner. The restaurant is very small so I wouldn't suggest a big party to come eat here, and bring a jacket as it's chilly inside.

I needed a place to stay and i only got to stay one night in a hotel because they sold the room form under me to a company. I had no were to go and i was really hurting. I didnt know anyone around and needed something to eat and coffee to calm my nerves. I felt like a huge failure with everything around me going on. Yah i could have gone anywhere to grab something to eat but i wanted something that made me feel at home. I came into the dinner mad and scared feeling like a straight failure. I order a omelet and coffee. when i walked in it was like walking into home felt like i was suppose to be there. small town and good people. My heart began to be calm. Alyssa " mom" or " big Sister" you can definitely tell she calls the shots. She runs the roost. she was so calm and talking to me. i told her why i was there and the reasons why i am driving to OK. she just listened and gave me advice and made me laugh. she really reminded me of my sister that passed away. Alyssa being so down to earth and funny made me want to come back each time. So as i slept in my jeep from the 4-10th at Ross park had no were else to go i went there to Boomarang dinner "my dinner". Yes it started as a place to eat but it turned into a place of calmness and happiness. i got to know everyone of the staff and there amazing i kept going back to eat there. I love the food and the ambiance. chicken fried stake and black coffee. the staff dose tremendous great work and if i could make the wages different i would at least pay them $19.00 hr. i looked up the minimum wage in Tahlequah, Ok $7.10hr that is absurd. these wonderful people do way more then just help run a dinner. they are family, therapist, counselors, jokesters and good quality people. The staff works hard to keep the place running in tip top shape. I was there when the small front fridge broke and NO on sat in the fridge the door just fell off because of all the usage. No staff broke the door. Please who ever is reading this and own this great establishment let the staff sit down and rest there feet for a momnet i see them up and running around all the time. let them have a moment and be a human being and have a cup of coffee in the dinner. these wonderful people are not robots. they are people to. I love the staff. As i look up minimum at $7.10hr + tips need to do better then that. People can not survive on minimum wage like that there are families to support and that is one way to loose staff. when the staff cant afford to feed there families and start to feel the financial burden they will think about finding another job to support there family. seeing that the minimum wage is THAT LOW and knowing that it can be increased to help the staff in there future to do whatever the dream career is at least increase it to 16.00 + tips as a start. Your staff is awesome and they are worth it. All in a nut shell i wish i could make a movie or a sitcom about this place and call it " Big Hair" because as i think of this dinner it would be a epic movie or sitcom. I am coming back to eat there everytime. As i sit here writing this review in maryland i want to just drive back to " Boomarang dinner" to eat there again. To the staff you guys made this whole experience the best trip ever and I will never forget you guys. Small town dinner with the greatest people you can ever meet. My email is : CaliRican92@gmail.com. thank you for everything you made my trip

The service is friendly-phenomenal! Inside a comfortable diner ambiance. My wife never passes up an Indian taco. Here you will find it on the menu, listed under salads, with a more PC name "Fite's Cherokee Taco." It is delicious! Me, I gotta' have those house made rings and a club. Three slices of buttery Texas toast, packed with turkey, ham, cheese, smokey bacon, a big slice of ripe tomato, lettuce and a generous slather of mayo. On the side thin, crispy, crunchy, greasy, salty, delicious onion rings. An outstanding meal, that will be added to my collections "UnYun Ringz" and "Clubs in Oklahoma" on Yelp! Oh, the meal comes with fry bread and honey! And then there is the perfect friendly attentive service from Emily F.

We were promptly seated and waited on by a friendly waitress. After my wife mentioned she has alpha gal allergy, the waitress told us they have a totally separate grill specifically for such issues so there isn't any worries about the food coming into contact with mammalian-derived meats or dairy products. They have a number of alpha gal-friendly options. My wife ordered the fried chicken strips with cottage potatoes and fried okra. I ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes (both with cream gravy) and onion rings. First note: the portions were HUGE! The chicken strips could equal at least 1/3 of a whole chicken. And the chicken fried steak covered a whole plate of it's own. But, portion size means nothing if the food isn't good. Well, I'm happy to say they were both EXCELLENT (note that the CFS is made with Ribeye!). All I can say is if you haven't tried Fite's or it's been awhile, you just gotta go! Let's support this outstanding local business.
