Del Rancho was on my list of things I needed to hit up during my most recent visit to Tahlequah, specifically for the Tahlequah taco/Indian taco. Del Rancho is by the roadside and they have indoor seating and drive through. I did the drive through because I thought it would be faster. I was very confused by their drive through because they had 3 lanes, but they did not take our orders in the order that we came. I ended up sitting in my car for 15 minutes before someone started taking my order. Once I ordered and paid at the window, I was told to wait behind by the back door for them to bring me out my order. The food took another 10 minutes to get. Despite the long wait time, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of the taco. It had a dry bread filled with meats, cheese, tomatoes, red onions and sour cream. It was enough to fill me for 2 or more meals! Definitely give the tahlequah taco a try, just know you might have to wait a bit for it. read more

My husband took me on a drive today to come to this diner. Ambiance is so fun. Just know you order from the phone at the table! Anyone waiting for their order to be taken is clueless and should have asked. We had the Taco and the Chicken Fried steak sandwich and onion rings. The fry bread taco was amazing. The sandwich was dry, but the breading was good and well seasoned. The onion rings were meh. The malt we had was really thick. I would go back for the fry bread for sure! The food is actually very good but the older manager lady is extremely RUDE to customers and her employees. We've witnessed this several times and originally thought maybe she was just having a bad day, but we soon realized she's just a bitter grump that should not be managing people or running a restaurant. Yesterday we ordered 7 drinks togo and the girl helping us was trying her best to make sure our order was correct, when that same hateful manager lady walked up to the employee and started yelling at her (in front of us) asking her why she couldn't get the order right.. The poor girl reminded the manager she was new and still learning but the manager rolled her eyes and continued with the same attitude. Del Rancho is down home Oklahoma diner food. When we walked in we were not greeted and we Just found a place to sit. Menus were already on the table and we picked up the phone and ordered. The friendly voice on the line was helpful and our food came out quickly. We ordered the chicken fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes and a side of okra. It also comes with a small salad and Texas toast. The Chicken fried steak was so good! Probably the best I've had at any restaurant. The okra was also delicious. This is a no frills diner in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Don't go in expecting fine dining and perfect service. The food speaks for itself and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and unique ordering. Came here to try out the food. The chili dog was horrid and the chili looked like something of nothing chili related, it was grainy and tasted like complete crap. It was inedible and wasn't eaten at our table. The shrimp basket was decent, they skimp on the shrimp though for $10. The fries were cold and grainy also on the inside. The fried okra was pretty good probably would get that again. Overall I'll only return if everything else is closed and McDonald's has better fries. Horrible! Stopped in for breakfast, waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged, finally told to sit wherever, there were no clean tables, still no one acknowledged us. The steak was tender and tasted okay. Served on top of the gravy rather than having the gravy on top of the steak. A single scoop of mashed potatoes (shaped like a scoop) with gravy: tasted like instant potatoes, but a small portion. The toast tasted good - the best item of the meal. Service was barely adequate. Ordered the meal over a phone in the booth (that's unique), but the connection was bad (on a hard wired system?) and I had to repeat my order twice. Never received a ticket to pay. Had to ask the cashier to locate my charge - three people l had to search 4 times to find my order in their computer even though they could see the table where I was sitting. When I was walking to the cashier, the waitress offered to package my drink in a to-go cup, but she never did get around to it. In fairness to the waitress, she is the only waitress I saw working the entire dinner crowd - they appear to be short of wait staff. Granted, we are in a period of insane inflation, but the price of this meal was ridiculously overpriced. This meal is not much better nor much larger nor much tastier than a chicken fried steak at Grandy's - yet the meal at Grandy's has a second vegetable, includes a drink and costs significantly less Not recommended. read more

I have been visiting this location for over 20 years. I was in the area and decided to stop by today. We ordered 2 steak sandwiches, fries, onion rings, and a chili dog. Our server was helping a softball team so we knew the service was not going to be great but we were ok with that. We waited 20 minutes for our food and it was brought out as soon as it was put up in the window. Sadly and aggravatingly, it was all COLD! The food here was pretty excellent. I loved their frybread puffs. I ordered the chicken basket, nothing special excluding fry bread, and my father ordered the steak sandwich. He liked it, he noted that the meat was nice and tender. The decor was a cool vintage design, its one of those restaurants where you order by phone. Service was nice.
