The customer service team has been very helpful and great to work with and they make you feel good and comfortable about there services

We had rented out from this company in Orlando Florida. The day that we came in to reserve everything was good, until we picked up the van. We had rented a van to drive from Florida and go up North to pick up the van next day at 6pm, office was already close so they left a lock box for us to get the key. We had a schedule already and money invested as well so we couldn't wait next day to return this rental but if we could've we would've done it in a heart bit. When we when to pick up the van, they gave us the worst one after we had pay a ton of money for just 5 days. The van once you reach 70 miles it started pulling the steering wheel to the side and the van started to shake and then the van did NOT have coolant. Thank God we had my dad checked the van and noticed. They have a friendly services but don't let that fool you, don't trust that this company will check the rental before giving you the keys because they clearly don't check. And then when we came back to drop the rental we talked directly with the person "in charge" of checking rentals before pick up and he was extremely rude and saying he did check the rental when he clearly did NOT do his job. I do NOT recommend this place at all and we will NEVER rent here again. read more

This is the first time we rented from Carl's in Tampa. Our previous two rentals were in Orlando, the experiences were similar. Everything went seamlessly, we were given all information we needed in advance and we the vehicle we requested was waiting for us where it was supposed to be. The staff in the Tampa office couldn't have been more helpful. I left my EZ pass in the vehicle and they told me just give them my address and they will mail it to me. If there is any negative the Van was a little worn, but for the twelve people i was driving around it really didn't matter. I would us them again in a second. read more

For a Family Trip, we rented Van from Carl's Van Rental for a week to go to North Carolina. To our surprise we were given vehicle that nobody will even rent for local use. We picked up the van after hours at 5 PM with dash-board showing Brake Pads are worn and need attention. We had no alternative other than drive the van to our trip early next morning. Information sent to Frank, the manager. We did not drive the vehicle to many places where we could have gone. When we come back, CARL'S VAN RENTAL charges us 8 days instead of 7 - TOTAL FRAUD. The company sent online agreement on day of pick up to sign electronically that wrote pick up at 5 PM while return at 10 PM that we never said. The company refused to refund the extra day that was charged. When the Owner Mr. Carl was approached, he sided with his manager rather than checking if client is right. BE AWARE OF CARL'S RENTAL, THEY ARE FRAUD AND THEIR VEHICLES ARE IN DISREPAIR. They have no business ethics. read more

I had an incredible customer service experience with Carl's Van Rentals. My wife and I rented a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited last weekend for 24 hours (we are thinking about buying one). Not only is Carl's the only company in the greater Tampa metro area that rents out Wranglers, but their prices are also great! When my wife and I experienced a bit of a misunderstanding during the billing process afterwards, the fleet manager Cameron Bethmann cleared it up immediately and could not have been nicer or more professional. Cameron went the extra mile to ensure that my wife and I had a great customer experience. I give them my highest recommendation! If you are looking to rent a Wrangler either to test out before you buy, or for extra fun during your beach vacation - give Carl's a try. read more

I rented an passenger van from Carl's for one day. While I was driving in van with my family a roach crawled on my aunts leg. I stopped we all got out van and shook out all our belongings. Before we got back in a check van and found roaches every where. Roaches were crawling on seats, steering wheel, floor mats, ceiling, and doors. Roaches was so bad I recorded a video. I immediately took van back to company. Company still charged me for rental. read more

A heads up to anyone needing a van in Florida, Carl's is the only place to go. Not only were they able to provide us with the right size vehicle, they also had the toddler seats needed for my grandsons. They were there 10 minutes after I called upon landing to pick us up and upon returning the van they took the six of us right back to Tampa Airport. Most importantly, Frank, the manager of the Tampa location, treated us like family. For this I am grateful, as traveling with toddlers is never easy. read more

When we had 11 people flying on the same plane to Tampa for a week at the beach house the only thing I could think of was a large passenger van. Carl's was on the internet for Tampa and they were the perfect solution. The issue of luggage was close, but solved with one SUV of a resident (we knew this ahead). The normal fears of a glitch in the process we unrealized because Carl's process was quick and smooth and very friendly! We really appreciated their customer-focused approach. read more

Ironically we chose this rental place because of its positive review on Yelp. To start off let me just say, the customer service was a definite 10/10. Everyone we spoke with was very friendly and very patient with all the questions we had. The process of paper work needed in order to rent, was fairly easy and the employees were very helpful and honest. I have quite a large family and so in order to go see Christmas lights all together, we have to rent a van for the night. We have 8 children that decorated the inside of the van and we had food and candy to take with us to our location. Just as the night got started, about 10 little roaches were found crawling in our sealed food bin and in the front seat floor. We sprayed them with roach spray and they scattered. We proceed with our night and had a great time. However, when we got home the nightmare just got worse. As we started pulling the blankets and pillows out from the rows of seats, probably at least 30 roaches started crawling out of the seat belt buckles and all over our blankets. Turns out, we were just sitting on them the whole night. We had to throw out all of our food and wash all of our linens. Unless they can get this issue resolved of which they said "happens every so often" I would not recommend having a rental from them. read more

Make sure before you drive away that the van is in good working order. Ours, a cargo van, wasn't. The ignition and starter gave us trouble all day long. Also, the guys at the counter are less than brilliant. You tell them something and it doesn't get recorded properly on the computer. And, their attitude is very blah. They all needed some caffeine. read more
