This place is the real deal. I tried going to the gym, which worked out for a while, but I soon became bored with the constant repetition. I needed something a little more interesting. Lo and behold, I stumbled across this gym. Met the owner Jeff on an open gym day, who offered a free class before a membership, but I decided to become a member right then and there anyways. Best decision I could've possibly made. Here's a mental picture of a typical weekday evening, maybe around 7: walking into the gym, the first thing you see and hear are the punching bags. The smack of gloves against rubber, and then a timer going off every minute or so at a constant rate. Look to your right, a small class of new members doing a warm up. Look up at the boxing ring, a sparring match is taking place while the owner Jeff is on the sideline throwing in commentary for improvement. Chairs by the front might be occupied by a mom or two, watching as her little ones learn the basics of shadow boxing and how to wrap their hands for protection. All whilst rap music is blasting throughout the gym. With this scene in front of you, you won't be able to shake off this need to put in some work. Moving onto the actual classes. Not going to lie, the first few days suck. The workout with the instructor Jorge is going to kick your ass- I've been here for a little more than a month and for some classes I show up to, there's someone running to the bushes outside to puke at the very end. I've seen a military personnel practically winded- guess boot camp has nothing on here! But as the weeks pass by, you start noticing that hey... I did 10 more than the last time. This doesn't suck as much. And you start noticing how your stamina is improving, and that makes everything so incredibly worthwhile. You can thank Jorge for that, an amazing instructor who will push you beyond your boundaries, but understands that the body still has physical limits and will always want your health to come first. All around fantastic gym with great energy. I highly recommend to anyone seeking out a good workout for a very good deal, wants to relieve some stress, or plan on becoming the next Rocky. This is the place you want to be at.

I came to watch my friend's son have a belt grading on a Saturday and I was amazed at how many kids…read more(and a few adult students) were at the event. The kids were all very well behaved and seemed as though they really enjoyed the event. I have not been to a normal class but it seems the instructors all know the children by their names and are all very nice! When I was a child, I also went to similar martial arts courses but they were not as large and as fun as the class that Cho was giving. I envied the small children having so much fun with each other and with the instructors. I believe this would be a great place for your little ones (or yourself) to come take courses. The venue is quite large in which there are 3 rooms with various equipment. They have mirrors in one room which I assume the children use to watch themselves while they are learning moves. The lounge area has a few couches where the parents and visitors can have a seat and watch the students. They even have three stalls where you can change. I was quite impressed by the one visit. Check it out if you or your child is interested in learning martial arts with some fun instructors.

Mr. Cho is an honest, kind man and it's easy to see that he truly cares about the students. However Mr. Cho can't be everywhere at once. My kids were in the before & after school program and the lady who is responsible for that side of the business is horrible !!! Her name is Ms. Key and she is the one who would get the kids late to school, she's not patient and understanding that kids are kids. She would get my son to text me or my wife to see where we were at almost everyday when we were on the way to pick up our kids. We were never late picking up our kids so I have no clue why she would do that. The facility closes At 8:00 the childcare side closes at 6:30 we were alway there between 6:20-6:30 Never late ! The funny thing is when your child gets hurt by accident or another kid she nor her staff calls the parents it seems like they try to cover it up first. This lady also is a very big liar. She has to talk to all the parents everyday to tell them how bad their kids were. And if the kids weren't bad she'll make small stuff up. She'll continue to lie until she gets caught up in it and you confront her about it. Her assistant named Emily calls kids "little shits" and none of this is made up Ms. Key told us herself that Emily said that. After hearing bad reports everyday we got tired of it and just took our kids back to the daycare that they were at before joining taekwondo.

I sat back for a year watching the sell sell sell mentally of the staff, while paying 160 a month. I was ok doing so as long my son seemed to enjoy it. That changed. That disappointing part is how they treat you when you choose to end your contract. It's not easy (like a gym membership). I definitely remember signing up was a breeze! When I came in a 3rd time within and hour to catch the right person, I was no longer met with a smile and hello. Clearly he was informed that a parent was coming in to cancel their membership. This would have been a great opportunity for the staff to show the character that they teach their students. I believe last month was "Honesty". Instead I was met with no eye contact. Lots of standing and waiting and no "sad to see him go" or "we hope to see him return". Nothing but an intimidating "Why?" and a sign here and a walk off. After a year of coming through the door...Too bad. We will not be returning to Cox ATA in Conroe.
