    Fried Flounder sandwich

Behold the contents on a $9 Fried Flounder Sandwich. copious bread, lettuce, tomato and what looks like a small fish tender. I've seen bigger fish sandwiches at McDonalds for $1.

Not sure why this place doesn't get reviewed. I guess it's the type of spot you just fall into with your parents and eventually always go back to. Originally fell in here 40 years ago. I live on the other coast now but somehow I always get back here. Now I take my kids for ice cream, burgers etc etc Such a cute little beach place. Reminds me that life can be that simple if you choose. Not sure who owns it? Maybe family owned? Just a great spot and many memories I hope to keep building there. Peace.

Chickens tenders with some sea salt and fries by the beach, all a girl can ask for!

Make sure to get your burger with the fried onions! French fries are also delicious and the new covered seating area is very comfortable.

The Fish Tacos were good, though they were just a bit warm as if they may have been sitting for a bit, and not under a heat lamp. My daughter liked her taco bowl with beyond meat... I very much enjoyed the Frozen Strawberry Daquiri. I wouldn't say it would be a favorite of mine, but I would go back if I lived in the area.

But you do, I said, it's on the menu in the seafood boil. The waitress went to the kitchen and return saying we don't sell them separately. It's a seafood place for crying out loud. So we ordered the seafood boil as an appetizer and took the clams out. I ordered the fish tacos, which were just OK. The worst thing about the dish was the bland rice and the black beans that were served apparently right out of the can with no seasoning. You could've at least thrown some spices in them. I had to ask for a side of salsa to give the beans some flavor We had several appetizers and quite a large group. The waitress handled the group very well.

The menu looked quite interesting and what caught my attention was one of their burgers. They baked brie burger with bacon and fig preserve. Upon entering the establishment, we found it quite pleasant. The food was absolutely amazing. We all looked at each other and said we will definitely be back. The menu looked amazing as well with selections for breakfast with lemon ricotta, pancakes, and stuffed French toast which we will definitely have to give a try. Although it wasn't very busy, service upstairs was fairly slow, and several nearby tables also seemed to be waiting a while for food or checks. For drinks, we ordered the Boardwalk Lemonade, which was sweet and refreshing, and their version of an Aperol Spritz, which had a beautiful presentation. My dad's Baked Brie Burger was delicious--the fig jam paired perfectly with it, and the waffle fries were fried to perfection. I ordered the Mr. Beautiful Burger, which tasted great at first. Unfortunately, I felt VERY sick almost immediately after eating. I can't say for certain what caused it, but since my dad didn't try my burger and felt fine after his meal, I suspect mine may not have been cooked properly. Despite that, I enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience. I'd definitely give this place another chance, though I'll skip the Mr. Beautiful Burger next time.

We brought two bottles of wine, and the white was put in a chilled bucket right away. Just a note for anyone not familiar with BYOB restaurants in New Jersey: if they don't have a liquor license, the servers can't pour your wine. I don't mind pouring my own, so it wasn't an issue. The meal started with an amuse-bouche: two sips of tomato soup with a bruschetta crostini. It was a nice way to begin. One of the standout dishes was the breaded pork chop stuffed with prosciutto and cheese, served with a cognac mushroom sauce. My spouse gave me a bite, and it was one of the best I've had this summer. The pork was juicy with just a little pink, and the combination of flavors worked really well. I'm still thinking about it. We also had the tuna tower with soy sauce, ginger, horseradish, and wasabi. It was fresh and nicely presented. I ordered the foie gras (before you bash me, read Foie Gras Wars by Mark Caro and then decide )It was paired with a poached pear and simply prepared. I would have liked a slice of French toast, brioche (a girl could dream), but when I mentioned it, our server brought crostini, which worked fine. Chef Bass was out on the floor greeting guests and bringing out plates. He has really terrific energy. Bistro by Bass is a great dinner date spot and I also observed many larger tables having shared food. Next time, I'll order the pork chop for myself. I also saw several orders of escargot go by that looked really good. I wish I got the tableside bananas Foster. I've had it before there and it was fabulous! I ordered the almond Amarado gelato that tasted like a delicious almond joy, coconut, and almond crunches throughout. (my dinner partner hates coconut and chunky ice cream so he wasn't "NO", but I thought it was great!) From what I could tell, other tables were enjoying their meals too. The pricing was fair, the atmosphere was lively, and I'd go back.

One person in our party had an allergy. No alternatives for side dishes were offered. They just offered him a protein on a plate; no sides. We just felt like they were not super accommodating; they would have been fine putting a protein on the plate with no sides and calling it a day. Though our meal was very good. I don't think we will go back due to how crowded the space felt and not being able to accommodate allergies.
