    Spinach salad
    Scott B.

What's better than sitting outside on a beautiful summer Sunday, smelling the ocean air, feeling a cool refreshing ocean breeze, while eating a delicious meal. Even the wait time here is pleasant. My wife and I had to wait 40 minutes for our table but didn't mind a bit as we soaked up some sunshine and listened to the smooth guitar sounds coming from the guitarist playing outside. My wife had a breakfast sandwich that she loved. We split a spinach salad and I had a tuna melt on sourdough with a side of crabby fries. My sandwich was grilled perfectly. Tuna with melted cheddar and light, crispy buttery sourdough made for a great sandwich. TFS is seasonal only so their last day is October 26 this year and we plan on visiting again before they close for the season.

Just a perfect start to the end of summer - start with the sun, whisp of clouds, and a beach breeze. Mix in a delicious breakfast egg bacon and cheese on a brioche sandwich and cold brew with milk right on the boardwalk under the right shade. Add in live guitar music. Just perfect. Service here is also friendly and helpful. Shared salad with hubby who got a tuna melt -he loved it.

Came to this joint while visiting here for a wedding. Food was good, service was good and everything came quick. Perfect spot for the morning (or afternoon ;) ) after a fun night.

Love the drink cup with lid.

Cheers to The Food Shack. Best breakfast and lunch on Point Pleasant Beach. You just can't beat the view, too. Checkout the cool merchandise inside.

There is truly no better place in the Point Pleasant Beach/Borough of PP/Brick/Bay Head/etc area to have the absolute perfect breakfast experience than at the Food Shack, at the end of the PPB boardwalk, off New Jersey Avenue! The lunches and Specials are also delicious, all with outstanding & friendly service, and in the most quintessential perfect atmosphere one could wish for, without equal! We've returned countless times, with hopes of retiring in a short few years to PPB or the Borough, and after sampling (as true early morning foodies) countless breakfast locations in the Jersey shore area (and liking some) we repeadly zeroed-in on this particular PPB gem, at the end of Boardwalk, and now repeatedly swing-in on a daily bases, watching the sunrise along the PPB shoreline or greeting all the friendly early walkers/joggers/bicycle riders on "the Boards" while we await the opening of Food Shack at our favorite outside table, and the greeting of the owners (Gail, Mike, & Cali) or the wonderful service staff (Sophia, David, Clare, Madison, McKenzie, Michelle, Alexia, Mora, Kevin, Linda, and from prior years, Carol, Dalia and many others! They have all become so much more to us than simply waitstaff & food cooks. Through repeadly gleaning their warmth, caring natures, affable congenial personalities, and helpful natures, they have actual become like our extended (PPB) family, the 5 or 6 times that we are able to get away to PPB! Gail, Mike, & Cali work tirelessly to provide the best possible fresh menu, with the customer experience held in the highest regard, in a truly relentless manner! We sit outside whenever weather permits, listening to the tide, enjoying the sun and smells of the ocean, and eating quality and plentiful morning to midday cuisine, in as close to paradise as one could ever find in a breakfast/ lunch place. Even their giftshop is really wonderful and abounds with fantastic PPB, shoreline, beach, and artistic offerings to highlight one's visit to PPB, at a reasonable price. The coffee, fresh juice and drinks are top notch, as are their egg sandwiches, fruit-filled yogurt parfaits, home-baked coffee cakes, fresh fruit salads, and other myriad of selections. For us, their main breakfast and lunch selections are the real stars of their varied and delicious menu. Amongst our absolute favorites are: The Hook, Line, & Sinker (a selection of beautifully prepared eggs, really wonderful toast offerings (I get either the sourdough, 7 grain, or the Muller's cinnamon-raisin,) choice or meat from NJ pork roll to fantastic crispy bacon or various sausage, and the best potatoes of any breakfast place we've ever had!) The Lifesaver (delicious avocado toast English muffins with poached eggs or anyway you like, fresh Jersey tomatoes, again potatoes done perfect!) The Cali Bowl (a mouth-watering casserole of eggs, cheese, home-made Corned Beef hash and potatoes. They alao serve some of the best blueberry/chocolate chip pancakes or Special French Toast (regular or Muller's raisin-cinnamon iced) with fruit and granola that we've ever had, and an ongoing special of thick sourdough covered in ricotta, cherry tomatoes, microgreens & dizzled w hot honey. Lunch also includes some tasty staples such as a Great burger, fresh-caught fish sandwich, and out-of-this-world fantastic soups, Gail is not just diligently involved with the running of this boardwalk diamond, but quite the creative and caring Chef! You really can not go wrong visiting Food Shack, one of PPB's most wonderful traditions, just leave enough time for groups to be seated, which can be a little challenging and require patience from time to time, as it gets later in the morning, especially during a weekend visit while within peak season. On Sundays, they even host some live music at the end of the Boardwalk!

Ngl thought this places food would be wack but it was fire. Everything was really good. Pancakes were a little dense but other than that everything was great. Eggs were amazing. The service was great everyone was extremely polite and quick. And the overall Ambiance of the place was very demure and chill. 10/10 would go again chat.

It's located on the southernmost of the boardwalk... you passed some residential houses, and you will see this little white shack standing alone!! We were greeted with a warm hello as we walked in, they don't have a lot of table "inside" (when they close the garage door), but when the weather is nice, they have lots of tables outside!!! We ordered lobster grilled cheese and beach house classic (basically pork roll, egg and cheese on raisin bread toast) they both tasted delicious!! We also ordered sweet potato fries, and to my surprise!! They used 2 different potato - purple and orange, and to my surprise!! The purple potato was soooo yummy!!!! And the lady always came over and see how we were doing!!! Super nice!!! Will definitely go back again next time we are in the area!!

Small little brunch place right at the end of the boardwalk. Super friendly service, the server engaged my kid several times. The lobster grilled cheese was absolutely delicious. If you like lobster, you'll really enjoy it. The beach house is pretty much a Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich but they put a twist on it using bread instead of roll. Sweet potato fries were so so so good. Some of them were purple yam. Very happy we spent our last meal down the shore there.

Place gets very crowded quickly (small dining area right on the boardwalk). Staff is very warm and accommodating (apologized profusely for the wait). They put together several tables for us all to sit together. Menu has a lot of comfort breakfast and lunch items, all reasonably priced. I had the avocado toast. The bread was whole grain, the avocado mash used with fresh and perfectly ripe. They had an unique twist by adding "everything bagel" seasoning and siracha sauce. It went well together for a great meal.

We came here on Labor Day, because of the great reviews and because it was right on the beach. There was about a 30 minute wait. It was quite hot outside, but everything still came out promptly, despite how busy they were. The service was great, our server, though initially disheveled, was quite nice. More like escalated home breakfast, we were quite happy with our meal!

The Food Shack is a cute little restaurant right on the boardwalk next to the beach. Friendly staff, outdoor and indoor tables (and a sit down counter). Great location if your nearby in one of the motels or renting a nearby beach house. But not a bad location if you need to drive there. Coming from California - and being a Jersey boy from way back, I had to have one of the (Taylor Ham) pork breakfast sandwiches. OMG, was it good. Quick service - not too busy when I arrived. Ordered a bunch of sandwiches for all the relatives staying at our vacation rental. Everyone was happy! Lot of locals show up here. There's a parking lot on the street side of the restaurant. Probably a pay lot, but it was early enough so was free. I've attached a number of photos for you.

The Food Shack is the last business on the Pt. Pleasant boardwalk. Very convenient to where we were staying.

Steps from our motel, we discovered The Food Shack. It's true- it's not really a shack! Cute little mom and pop cafe with tables on the boardwalk and some inside. It does get very crowded with return customers. Some say you can watch the sun come up while having breakfast, but I'll never see THAT! ;) Service was great: we walked the boardwalk while waiting for our table and received a text when it was ready. That was nice. They stop serving breakfast at 11:30 and just serve lunch and specials. I'm told they add on a service charge if a credit card is used. Not sure if that is still the case. So, my companion started with the special chicken and corn chowder with grilled corn muffin. Both very good (a little too much white pepper for me, but others would consider it VERY mild). He had a grilled American cheese on rye with tomato and ham. He said, twice, "This is VERY good." I couldn't resist the lobster grilled cheese. Honestly, it was very good but hard to taste the lobster- I had sour dough bread and dill Havarti cheese. They actually used enough butter in the grilling- not like some wimpy dry panini. Both of our sandwiches were served with chips. A small side salad would have been better, but I didn't ask. Coffee was fresh and refilled. No room to try their cherry pie, unfortunately. They also use breads from the famous Mueller's Bakery in Bay Head. On the Sunday we ate here, there was live music for a couple hours: a pleasant addition. I expect we'll return. Open only for breakfast and lunch. Gift shop and bath house adjoining.

I got pork roll, grape tomatoes, broccoli, and American cheese in my omelet. Sure, this was the third day in a row I had pork roll, but I was in New Jersey, so I was required to by several state and local statutes. Service was good - the waitress was friendly and answered all of our questions easily. I almost gave her a pop-quiz just to see how much she knew, but I figured she works hard enough as it is...doesn't need some jerk from out of town making her job harder. I'll leave that to the people from NJ. The food was delicious - the omelet was as expected for the most part. However, the pork roll was not pieces of slices but rather thick chunks, which was awesome! Before I left another wait staff person approached us. He asked me if I enjoyed listening to ska music, based on the way I was dressed. We were amused. Charming little place on a corner. Has good food, decent prices, and friendly staff. Not too busy on a Friday morning in late June, either.

I ordered a simple breakfast; eggs over easy, sausage and home fries. I also opted for hasbrown on the side (extra). It took a while for the food to come out and I will say, another member of our party ordered the omelette with French fries on the side, and the amount of fries they gave could've been more generous. The omelette took up the entire plate so they only scattered a few fries on the remaining space, rather than putting it on a new plate.
