I feel like I'm the last to know about Woodshed Pizza. My family members have been raving about it for what feels like ages, and my first bite was last night. We ordered takeout and had three different pizzas. We asked them to cut each one into eight slices so each of us could try several bites of each pizza. * Soppressata, Calabrian chili oil, and hot honey * Semplice (plain) * Margherita with fresh mozzarella, basil, and EVOO I can safely say that every single solitary bite of every single pizza was superb and absolutely excellent. We also loved the Limoncello wings. They were even more enhanced with some of the hot honey. Needless to say, I finally understand what all the excitement has been about. I understand that their salads are equally delicious. I'll add that into the mix next time... And there will be a next time. Like I'm thinking today! We attended a birthday party at the Woodshed. The make Neaoplitan style pizza. The pizzas were amazing! They were cooked in a brick oven. I tried the Margherita, white, burrata, plain and Jalapeño honey. My favorite was the Jalapeño and honey pizza. For apps they had limoncello wings, meatballs, a Cesar salad and a blueberry, strawberry and spinach salad with a lemon dressing. The staff was amazing, friendly and very attentive to our needs. Bakers wine is a separate business but shares part of the Woodshed restsurant. We tried the peach Sangria and the red Sangria both were really good. The wine is from a Alba winery, a NJ winery. I don't normally write reviews, if I don't like a place I simply don't go back. Woodshed Pizza absolutely deserved recognition. My husband and I visited this place on Sunday and we were blown away! The pizza was absolutely OUTSTANDING - the kind of quality that instantly brought me back to the flavors I enjoyed in Naples, Italy. The crust, the freshness, the balance of ingredients was exceptional. The service was VERY impressive. Every staff member, including the owner was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely focused on making sure the guests had a great experience. It's very rare to find that level of hospitality these days. Another visit to Woodshed and the food is consistently delicious. Nice ambience along with decent service make this a happening little place at the shore. This is a bring your own beer only as they have a partner on site that sells a Jersey winery brand. So if you're looking to imbibe in wine you'll have to purchase it in house at the restaurant. THE best pizza we have had outside Italy in a very long time. We had the special which was Mortadella, Burrata cheese and pesto. The crust was perfect, the toppings melted in your mouth. We got take out pies from the Woodshed. This is a really cute place. Its bright and fun. You can watch the cooks make the pizzas in the wood oven as it is an open kitchen. Finally got over to Woodshed after hearing great things and we were not disappointed, what a great addition to the neighborhood! Amazing wood fired pizza with a unique and fun menu. The limoncello wings were very good as were the meatballs. For pizzas we ordered the Bianca, Speziata and Jalapeno & Hot Honey. All were amazing but the jalapeno & hh was prob our fav. All the ingredients are very fresh and the crust had the perfect blend of crispy and chewy. Can't wait to try the rest of the pizzas Service was some of the best we've had in long time, from the sweet and polite blonde hostess to our waitress to the wine bar owner, Tatum, everyone went out of their way to give great service and make us feel welcome! You can tell they have been trained that service matters. One of the owners stopped by several times as well to check on the tables. All in all, fantastic pizza, fun unique menu, outstanding service and a very cool vibe and atmosphere! Great place to chill with family and friends which you don't often get in a pizza joint. I was excited to try this place because I love Napoletana style pizza. My whole family is from Italy and I have been going to Italy my whole life and that's how we like our pizza. I went in with my friends and I was hoping to sit inside since a huge storm was coming. They said they only had outdoor seating available so we thought we wouldn't be out there too long so it wouldn't matter. It took about 20 minutes for a waitress to show up. When we tried ordering the wine we were told someone else is coming for that. Mind you the hostess would usually explain how things worked as you are being seated but no explanation. So our waitress comes to our table and doesn't say hi or how are you doing. She goes, "are you ready?" Felt like we were being rushed to order. So we put our order in. She didn't even ask if we wanted water or sodas. Honestly I didn't think they had anything. After 15 minutes we got water and got our wine and then we waited for our pizza to arrive. While we were waiting we noticed other tables getting bread and oil. We never got that and were super disappointed since the table next to us got 3 baskets of bread. As we were waiting, the weather was getting worse. At this point we were waiting 45 minutes. So instead we asked to wrap our pizzas up and paid so we could leave before the storm got worse. When I went inside to speak to the hostess I noticed a bunch of pizzas sitting underneath lights to stay warm. I guess our pizza was sitting underneath that lamp which makes no sense since it ended up being an hour wait at this point. As I was inside I overheard a waitress tell a customer they were out of cups. HOW? We finally paid and left this restaurant. Once I got home which is a two minute drive home I finally tried the pizza. The pizza was cold, doughy and had a horrible after taste. It was super heavy too which is not Napoletana pizza. Super disappointed with everything. I will not be back. Not wasting my time or money at an establishment that can't even handle a busy pace and is very unorganized. It makes sense why they don't do take out because they probably couldn't handle it. Don't waste your money on this place. Rosie's in Point Beach is SO MUCH better. read more
