My father passed away from cancer after a long battle last month. Immediately following his death, a massive storm came through and did significant damage to dad's farm, including destroying the pool pump, something that my dad would have easily fixed, but my mother had to call Carlton to help fix it. They replaced the pump and we paid but soon after we notice an error on the install. We called Carlton back and explained the situation to the employee, Holden, who told my widowed mom that he knows they did not install it right and we shouldn't close the pool until it's fixed but they cant come back to fix it until spring. My mom is completely stressing out and has called them many times and they won't answer her. These people have no compassion, and will not do even the bare minimum to help someone, even going through the hardest time in their life. Please find another pool company. read more

We have used Carlton Pools for our house in Chestertown, Maryland. So far, have found the service to be incredibly poor. Keith Krebs takes zero responsibility for having installed a very cheap and way too small heater for the pool. Carlton said it would heat up the pool in 72 hours and it actually takes more than six days. When you ask Keith about it, all he says is the "manufacturer of the heater says it's working as it should be" which makes zero sense considering it takes twice as long to heat as they said it would. Really disappointed with the service level and lack of taking responsibility to find a good solution. They should replace heater with one that actually works, like we paid for. read more

I signed a contract with Carlton Pools to resurface my aging, in-ground pool in October 2022, forking over a $2,000 deposit. The contract states: Start Date: Mid to Late Spring 2023 Completion Date: Mid to Late Spring 2023 It's January 12, 2024 and Carlton Pools is missing in action. I made several calls in the summer and fall only to be transferred by the a surly receptionist to a nondescript voicemail. No one ever returned my call. I finally reached Joanne on Nov. 15, 2023 who said she'd been trying to reach me for months but had the wrong phone number for me written down. I guess no one got my voicemails. No one ever thought to put something in the mail to me either, or stop by my home or ask the salesman who originally worked with me for my contact information or look at the contract which clearly has my number written down correctly. I had exchanged text messages with the salesman, Bill Kronberger, about the contract so he definitely had my number. Back on Nov. 15, 2023, I explained to Joanne that I had lost confidence in the company to meet its obligations and I wanted my deposit back. She was very polite and offered discounts and promises. I politely declined, and she assured me my check would be in the mail within a week to 10 days. The same day, the salesman texted me asking if he could salvage the deal and offered more discounts. I politely responded that I simply had no confidence they would show up, and that I planned to take my business elsewhere. Then ... nothing. On Jan. 9, 2024, I received a random email from the salesman, Bill, again asking if I'd like to have Carlton Pools complete the project and, again, offering promises and discounts. I replied with a firm no and noted we had discussed this in November I made clear then that I had no intention of hiring them. The salesman then responded by email telling me he "believed" I was considering my options and that he was merely waiting for me to decide if I wanted to proceed with the project! Nuts. I have the text that proves this to be false (see image). From the rude receptionist (and she likes to argue with people too) to the complete failure to respond to their customers who pay them, Carlton Pools is clearly not a company with which to do business. Our pools are huge investments. You have to have someone you can trust if you're going to hand off thousands of dollars to have work done. I simply don't trust Carlton Pools. I tried to reach out to the owner about this issue but I have been getting the run around. It seems that an employee at this place has been providing the '80s porn pool boy service to a neighbor of mine. This 30-something employee has been taking sexual payment for servicing her pool that they built (a Kidney-shaped pool on Valley Road in Warminster). This 50-year-old grandmother has even taken me to the store twice to show off her boy toy. Both times he was there but nowhere to be found. As I said above, I have tried to reach out to the owner about this, but have gotten the runaround. My senior citizen parents have a Carlton Pool, paid $20K foran application of Aquabrite coating (resurfacer) in 2018. Pool was leaking, summer '24. Carlton recommended third party to evaluate at my parents' own expense. Carlton was sent the report, ignored report, stated that it is no longer covered under warranty though it has a 10-year warranty. No communication back from Carlton in six months since official warranty submission despite repeated email & phone messages. Owner finally called back stemming from a recent letter that indicated we were filing a complaint with PA Office of Attorney General, BBB, and local media customer service investigative reporters. However, President called my parents at 6:35 A.M.!!!!!!!!! In the three phone calls in a span of eight hours, owner acted like a bully on the playground yard, yelling at the customer!!! We've used Carlton since they put our pool in 9 years ago. Their service has gone downhill. We just opened our pool and they left our backyard and patio destroyed. What used to be one of the top pool companies is now probably the worst in the tri-state area. Don't waste your time. They built our pool years ago... amazing work. But the past few years they've let it all go. We finally got them out again earlier this year and for a project, and the work was just mediocre. I don't even know why I spent effort trying to have them help with another. While their retail stores are, average, their headquarters and construction/repair team are disgusting, awful, and just plain rude when you actually get in touch with them. The only person that answers a phone is the receptionist, and when they transfer you, nobody EVER answers the phone; and even more unprofessional, nobody EVER returns a message. Don't waste your time, go with another pool contractor in the area. Heck, even swing by the parking lot of your local Big Box Store and pick up some day laborers... A follow up from my last review...was asked if the coping could be repaired on a Saturday, holiday weekend, since we have been waiting two months, we said yes. We changed our plans to be there for the Mason only to find out Tuesday, three days after, that the Mason felt bad doing the work on a Saturday, during the holiday, so they decided not to come. This place is a joke. They rely on 3rd parties to complete work and all very poor planned. Won't even buy my pool chemicals from them, not giving them any more business. Switched to at Carlton Pools this year because the local store in Trexlertown has amazing staff and service. Scheduled with what I thought was a local Carlton Pools, but ended up being out of Warminster. Played phone tag with Ed in service, who apparently never works, and finally was able to schedule a pool opening in May. Never showed up the day of service, no call or messages. I called the following day, got home from work and the pool was open. Yay! Only to find out they left all the equipment out, didn't clean the filter, didn't clean the pool, didn't finish putting the nozzles in, and never added any chemicals. For $710, they remover the cover, folded it, removed the winter plugs, and installed the ladder and poles. That's like $150 work. Going back to Pool Pro, I paid that much for open and close, including cleaning the filter, adding chemicals, and cleaning up after themselves, and everything Carlton actually did. I blame myself for waiting too long to schedule an opening, bot researching their prices, and trying to Stay local. Lesson learned. read more

The worst company I ever used. My whole family is sick from the chemicals they did or did not put in the pool. We have spent days at the Urgent Care and Dr's since Memorial Day weekend. If I posted pictures of the rashes and sores we have you would be sick yourself. They won't come out to fix the issue. Just HORRIBLE!!! We used Carlton because the previous owners used them to close the pool every year. Setting up the closing wasn't to bad but when we called to have the pool opened things started to fall off the cliff. Took multiple attempts to set up the opening over the course of 3 days. We finally got a called back after we had already called someone else. This was just the start. After opening the pool we discovered a leak in the pump. We called Carlton to inquire if this was something that happened during the closing the previous fall. I left 4 messages just asking someone to call to answer our questions. Carlton took 5 days to call us back and when they did they said they would have no time to come out for another week or 2. All contact with the corporate headquarters has been worse then have all my teeth pulled out. Never again! read more

Paid 125.00 to have pool vacuumed and brushed after opening to remove debris. Technician came and pool was still filthy,sides were not brushed called Paul ( service manager) he didn't have the decency to even call me back but sent me an email stating pool was very dirty, you can use another valet and I will send someone out. After winter it showed cracks We contacts office every single years few times a year with our issues in pool cracks not plaster Pool steps crack first then went long way in pool. They send workers pretend to fix it. (Just seal the cracks.)I have to leave 10 massages before some one even respond on my massages. An incompetent company - never ever use them! Carlton Pools has been a disaster for my family. They built the pool in fall of 2014. Since then we get mud in our pool every time we get heavy rains. They tell me it is not their problem, but when they poured the concrete patio, they omitted spacers needed to control expansion. We noticed in the late fall that the gap between the tile and the patio was about two inches. They told us it was normal, but still sent in the cement guy to fix. Instead of pouring new concrete, he cut a two inch gap where he left it out, and then replaced it. The damage had been done. The mud is coming in from that gap every time it rains. They tell me it is the grading. Even if this was true, which I believe it is not, they should still fix the problem . Their sales people, contract people and all the way up to the owner (Joe Solana) have been rude, making me feel like this is my fault. I paid a lot of money for what was supposed to be a great experience. Carlton pools has ruined my summers ever since I met them. Be aware, once they get your money they ignore your problems. It pains me to see my kids cry after every rain, when we get mud. Their customer service is a disaster and they should be ashamed of how they treat us and other customers I have heard from since this incident. We just want it resolved, but they ignore my pleas at this point. read more
