Luis/Louis... I walked onto the salesfloor and the guy completing the intake got my name and number. He stated there were 3 ppl in front of me. Ok, no worries. I went outside to look at the Lexus, Toyota, and Hondas. Luis called me while I was outside. Asked if I wanted water and what area I was looking outside so he could join me. I had my own water and told him where I was. I was literally outside in the heat for at least 20 minutes. No one ever came outside. I walked inside then out to my car to the next dealership. Nobody said a word. Someone text me 10 minutes later asking if I was still at the bldg. Nope. Have a nice day. read more

FRAUDULENT. Very, very disappointing. We purchased a car from this location & while driving it home (I live a good distance from this location) i glanced down at the odometer & saw it had 4,000+ miles more on it than what we purchased it with. I was in a position where I needed a car then & didn't have time to go back & sort through the paper work mess. They told us we could bring the car back or they could refund us $500.... $500 for a car having close to FIVE THOUSAND more miles on it than advertised. The salesmen was also very very pushy, & made the experience more uncomfortable. Just go to a different location, fort bend has gone down hill. First off there is no CarMax in Fort Bend in Houston Texas. That's two totally different areas/Cities. This CarMax is in Richmond, TX. If you're in Houston, get ready for a drive. However, the drive is worth it. I have always had great customer service at this location and my cars have been great. I've even returned a car after 4 days and there was no trying to convince me to keep it. I ended up getting another that suited me better and that was cheaper. No one who worked there tried to convince me to do otherwise. Instead they gave me pros and cons and allowed me to make my own decision. I love Carmax. They make buying a car so much less of a hassle. read more

First of all, I don't know why this place only has three stars on maps because this Place has been by far the best car shopping experience I've ever had and I just recently purchased my second vehicle from this Carmax. If you want a truly effortless pleasant car buying experience this is definitely the place to go. This has been the only place where I do not get extreme anxiety just for even asking to look at a vehicle like I have at other dealerships. The environment is very laid-back and the Sales staff are incredibly nice, but not that fake kind of nice that dealerships are like these people genuinely want to help you find a good vehicle even if you're just trying to figure out what you actually want. And the location is really good for doing test driving because there's a mix of different areas where it's not just City driving but you can actually get on the highway without feeling overwhelmed to be able to see how the vehicles actually perform in real world driving instead of just puttering around a parking lot or traffic. This location is fairly to some of the other locations in Houston and surrounding but regardless of I would always go to this one because you can shipped from the other locations to this one in order to test drive them and you don't have to deal with the chaos of being in the city and because this place is smaller, they have more time to actually help you. The only real critique I them is that they may want to have their sales staff that are younger general research on some of the more popular car models so that way they can have a better general idea of the different features that most cars that people want would have in order to better demonstrate them to people who don't really know what they're doing, but needless to say if you're buying a vehicle, you should do your research on what you actually want before you go to a dealership but either way this place has been absolutely phenomenal and I will definitely be coming back if and when I need another vehicle in the future. read more

1. When I first looked at the car it had a paint problem. That problem should've been fixed before a customer even looks at the car but no I have to schedule an appointment for it to be fixed 2. Before I even got home I was only in the car for 30 minutes every light on the dashboard came on (check engine, track off, etc.) the car even started jumping. Why is this happening to car that per Michael Fulgham passed inspection? I came to Carmax thinking that their used cars have no issues and has been throughly looked at. There is even a paper in it that says "put it to the test. It passed ours" so if this car passed the test Carmax needs a new method of testing. They stated that I could bring the car in to get it serviced but why would I trust Carmax to service the car properly if they couldn't even inspect it properly prior to me purchasing it??? I got a full refund as we actually paid full for the car. I'm highly disappointed!!!! It was a black 2016 Buick Encore Also the manager didn't even have the decency to come to us and apologize. read more

My wife and I have had nothing but horrible customer service from the Fort Bend location. Day one went seemingly ok but when we can back the following Monday to complete our purchase the sales rep who was originally handling our deal, aside from not returning any of my calls over the weekend, didn't show up to work! Nor did he make arrangements to pass us off to another sales rep! so we had to start the whole process from scratch. I had to bring the vehicle back days later because of some electrical issues. Was told I'd be contacted with a date to bring the vehicle in for repairs and spent the next 2 weeks waiting. My wife and I made a several attempts each to contact the service department and no one answered the phone or returned our calls. When we finally did get someone on the phone we made arrangements to drop the car off on Saturday and pick up a loaner. I've now been sitting here for 45 minutes waiting because no paperwork was submitted and there's no loaner ready for m me! This place sucks! read more

I called for an appointment to look at a car I was already pre-approved of, once i came they said that the appointment was made for the wrong location.. that wasn't that big of a deal. after sitting me down to talk about the car, i was asked if i wanted to look at the car i said of course. this is when i was informed they made a "mistake" and they forgot to put the car on hold, the car was being transferred to another location as soon as i got there even though i had an appointment. employees where nice but that's about all i can say about CarMax on the positive side. wont be shopping with you guys read more

Whoever Heather is at the service center.... she needs to go. I had a part of my car (only 3 weeks old) dragging when I was driving and was going to make me wait 2 weeks for an appointment. Then, when I got a little bit of an attitude explaining how serious the situation was... all of a sudden she could get me in within 2 days. One week later... my low tire pressure light kept coming on and nothing is wrong with my tires - just need the sensor fixed. She was going to make me wait 3 weeks for an appointment. I called Discount Tire... they said they can do it in the parking lot in 10 min. Talk to or fire Heather at this location. She needs to be educated on appointment scheduling. read more

I have gone in multiple times to this facility with a taillight problem that was there from the time I purchased my car. Having purchased the max-care option for this vehicle I expected the taillight to be replaced. But every time I have been in there i have waited and been denied service. Their way of getting around this is by saying that my seal was broken on my taillight and thus the part would not be covered. I see this as a way to justify not servicing a customer with a component that was faulty from the time it was installed on my car. I have felt as if I do not matter and CarMax only sees me as a dollar sign after each visit. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The people who work there are good, but they are only robots who take orders blindly. They do not not take the customer into account and feel like they can justify their actions since they followed proper procedure. I guess you know you have made it into a big time company when you can treat customers like trash. read more

Absolutely horrifying. Worst car buying experience imaginable. Bought a used 2011 Prius that supposedly only had one owner and was never in an accident. Brought it in within the 30 day warranty period and the technician found that the car had not been inspected properly-- it was obviously in an accident. The master cylinder, braking system, and engine were all malfunctioning. Further more, parts of the frame were bent and the engine had just been jammed in. Pieces of the underside of the car were also missing. It took at least a week to simply get details on what was wrong with the vehicle. The only thing I am thankful for from this experience is that it led me to buying a new 2018 Prius from San Marcos Toyota, where we had exceptional service. The salesman I worked with there said he had a customer recently go in because the CarMax in Austin had sold her a used vehicle that had recently been flooded and was completely flushed. Too bad she did not get it in within the 30 day warranty period-- she was screwed and had to salvage the car. Moral of the story: DO NOT take a chance on any CarMax location. They seem to be a pretty crooked auto company. read more

I went to purchase a vehicle. I was pre approved with my credit Union; after nearly six hours at the dealership, I drove away with my new truck only to have to return it the next day. I was not able to return due to the holidays; therefore, a third trip later I returned. The drive for me is one was one hour and fifteen minutes. The day of my return the dealership had not contacted my credit union or taken care any of the paperwork. Fast forward, I mistakenly left one of the keys to the prior purpose at home. The VERY RUDE manager Scott refused to allow me to purchase the new vehicle until I returned the second key. I explained that I was going to Fedex the key with a tracking number. He said he didn't trust me. Although you have all my information in the system.. this dealership is slow and I would recommend doing business with a different location! read more

Overall bad experience. Tried to sell a truck in prefect running condition worth $16,000-19,000 and was lied to about a blown gasket. Thy gave us a KBB value of $10,000They even showed a picture of a random vehicles engine trying to convince us something was wrong. Car needed minor repairs they had to take to Tiver Oaks Jeepnto fix correctly...and then they refused to repair cracked windshield with OEM and everyone knows the OEM on Jeeps come with soecialnlimited decals you cannot get unless you buy the OEM they refused but all the while while intheirbpossesion said they would...until I came and picked up the vehicle..mu daughter bought the car because it had the original windshield..now she feels dupe because for the price should could have gotten a new jeep and without the hassle orlf them having her car for 3 WEEKS for minor repairs...thwy gave us the round and half hearted. Took pictures and show it regularly to people to ask if they saw this would they buy the car. so far 100% say no.
