Echo Park's business model is unique among the big-box used car retailers. They generally price…read moretheir vehicles below market, something we verified when looking for our new ride ... usually $1800-$2000 below the same models, with comparable mileage and trim level, available elsewhere. Wondering how they do this, I discovered that they've eliminated much of the overhead which other dealers pass on to the consumer ... no "chain of command" i.e. salesperson to sales manager to general manager, etc., all of whom earn commission on each sale. No finance manager, who also takes a cut. One person works with the customer from start to finish. There are no service or parts departments, again eating into the cost of doing business at other dealers. Our experience was flawless. We made an appointment to see a particular vehicle, and after checking in, we were introduced to Hilary, who proved to be courteous, knowledgeable and highly professional. The car was as advertised, the offer for our trade was more than fair (believe me, we researched it), and we were on our way. Before we left, we were advised that if any issue developed within the next thirty days, they'd take care of it ... unlike the NO WARRANTY paperwork you sign elsewhere. If you're looking for a new vehicle, make Echo Park your first .. or last ... stop. Chances are you'll be happy you did.

We came in ready to buy, but what should have been a straightforward process turned into nearly five hours of waiting, largely due to the team's complete lack of urgency. This was especially noticeable since the entire store was empty on a rainy day, with very few other customers around, yet everything still moved at a crawl. Instead of getting paperwork done efficiently, there was a constant push to upsell GAP insurance, with repeated lines about how they could "lower my payment" if I added it. It felt more like a sales survival camp than a customer-focused process. I made it clear early on that I had a prior engagement and needed to wrap things up before then. I was assured that wouldn't be a problem but it absolutely was. We ended up having to leave and asked them to have everything ready when we returned. When we came back, things somehow got worse. Salespeople and managers were standing around vaping at the welcome desk and casually talking negatively about customers before even acknowledging us, and once they did, there was still no urgency, just slow, meandering movement to finally complete the paperwork. One star only because we did get the car we came for and I cannot give zero. But be warned: expect to waste your entire day dealing with a team that shows little respect for your time or urgency in closing deals. LASTLY, ensure the car they're giving you has oil in it. Ours did not and they are in zero rush to get that work done... and by zero rush I mean they've quit responding.

Their staff clearly needs more training…read more I called them early in the morning, initially asking if a vehicle on their property that I was interested in (and which was still listed on their website) was still available for a PPI inspection. I clearly specified the year, make, model AND trim. The person I spoke with on the phone confirmed that it was indeed still available for inspection, and could be looked at during any of their open office hour times. With that confirmation in mind, I then placed a $200+ order with a PPI inspection company to schedule an appointment. Hours later I heard back from the PPI inspector who had arrived at the dealership; but with bad news --- apparently, the vehicle had already been sold, potentially days before I had even called the dealership that morning. This was despite the PPI inspector also having separately called up the dealership ahead of driving over and also confirming that the vehicle was available for an inspection that day. All said and done, I may ultimately have wasted a couple of hundred dollars needlessly on an inspection that wasn't even possible to take place in the first place. Motors on Wheels needs to train their staff better to confirm that their vehicles are in fact available for inspection when requested, as well as drop their listings from their website once they're sold. Having potential customers needlessly waste their money on impossible inspections is a senseless waste of money that could be easily prevented with better safeguards and training. If the dealership can't ensure against simple issues like this, I can't help but wonder what other sorts of issues exist at their dealership that aren't as readily visible. I unfortunately cannot recommend this dealership.
